Happy to report 5 star service! Very responsive, knowledgeable and helpful. Educated us about our new home and its systems, as well as diagnosing the next steps to resolve our problems. Left us smiling!! Would highly recommend to others and would call on Marquis again.

Fantastic! We were in a bind when my tenant called with no water. I called Randy on a Saturday afternoon, Memorial Day weekend and within a couple of hours he replied that he would be there first thing in the morning...ON A SUNDAY!! Sure enough, he and his dad showed up around 8am, assessed the problem (old worn out well pump and leaking pressure tank) and by 9:15 had both units replaced and working with all new electrical line run from the well head to the pump. Fair price and unbelievable service! I couldn't recommend him more enthusiastically! I'll definitely be calling him for some new construction projects we have going.

This was a Saturday and we were really stuck! I texted Randy and he and Alan actually came to our house after their first job. We are not even in their service area. He ran some quick tests, checked out the well, called the installer and then recommended that we contact our water treatment services folks on Monday morning to run some tests to determine how to adjust our filtration system. Meanwhile, they assured us that we could use the toilets and shower (no hair washing). They GREATLY relieved our stress about this! All this because they sensed our stress and could help! All the info they provided - excellent! Randy and Alan could not have been more helpful. I would recommend them to anyone! Jennifer and John Wade in Lewiston

I lost water to the house around 9am. I was able to get ahold of Mr. Marquis immediately and had help by 11am. The technician was able to figure out the problem, explain it so I understood the problem and provide an estimate quickly. The technician was easy to understand and we agreed to have the work done immediately. The work was complete by 1:30pm and the provided bill matched the work done. The work was professional and it was obvious the worker was experienced. Over all a great experience and I'm planning on calling them when I look into converting to geothermal heating for my house.

Randy responded to my call on Christmas Eve that our well pump had gone out and we had no water. He was very professional and responsive. He offered to come out on Christmas morning to our house to assess and conduct repairs. We did not want to impose on his family's Christmas morning so we asked him to come out today (12/26). Randy arrived on time despite being located almost two hours away and was able to quickly assess and repair our well pump; best of all we had water again. His service was excellent and his price was fair. We would hire him again in a heart beat. If you need someone to come out and do work on your well this is the company to call.

Seemed very knowledgeable came first - when said he would - to oversee the problems. Offered solutions. Came back when said he would; replaced aged pumps and parts. Much more water pressure now. Will return in spring to check pumping system from the lake. Nice guy: Price is probably fair; just that I always think everything is too expensive.

Could a person who wakes up to no water ask for better service? No. If Mondays aren't bad enough, we woke up to our water just stopping mid-shower. After checking the well pump breaker and finding it fine, I hopped on Angie's List and found Randy Marquis Well and Pump and gave him a call at 6:55am. I expected at that hour I'd be leaving a voice mail but was surprised when Randy answered the phone. I told him what was going on and he said he'd send someone out first thing. Even though this business is 40+ minutes away from me, Tom called to confirm directions at 7:20 and showed up at 8:15. He quickly got to work diagnosing the failed pressure tank that in turn caused the pump to burn out as well. He replaced both as well as the wiring to the pump in the well. By 10:45 we had water (and better water pressure than we've ever had). Tom was professional and explained what he was doing when I asked questions. I called Randy later in the day to thank him and give kudos to Tom and found out Tom is Randy's dad. This family knows good customer service. I gave his price a rating of C only because I didn't get any other quotes so I can't really compare it. Tom and I never talked about how much it would cost and I didn't ask. I just needed water. At less than 4 hours from placing the call to having water back I certainly won't complain. They have a 5 year parts AND labor warranty on their work which I also found impressive. I whole-heartedly recommend Randy Marquis Well and Pump.

We called in desperation. A quick trip to our son's house to fix a troublesome furnace and soon we hear the sound of water running. That sinking feeling when you discover it is the main water pipe to the house, spewing many many gallons of water and having formed a very large sink hole in the back yard. He arrived within two hours of our call. Had it fixed quickly. Given the amount of snow and mud on the ground, this was the wrong time of year for such a repair! He was extremely responsive, professional, courteous. Will definitely use him for all our well needs going forward!

Description of Work: I called Randy on Saturday 12/27 because my water stopped running. He came out within an hour of calling and determined I needed to have a new well and pump installed. I obtained other opinions and determined the same thing. Randy coordinated the drilling work with Scott Temple of Temple Well. They came to the house on Monday 12/29 and the drilling work began 12/30. Randy did the excavation work and installed a complete pump system.

called and was out of water. I went over and tried to get her current system going but it the point was clogged. I ind=formed her we could put in a new point but with what I had been seeing in the area it could be a waist of time and money. I let her decide what she was going to do. We also got a call from two of the houses next door, this made her mind up. We ended up drilling two wells one for and one of the houses next door. Once the well was done we quickly got the excavator there and did the hookup. Everything went good even with the winter cold coming in. Thank you for choosing marquis well & pump for you water needs.

After going through several different Angie's List reviews, Randy was the first person I called. I left a voicemail message, and within 2 minutes he had called me back and scheduled an appointment to check out the situation. He was able to come out that afternoon which put my mind at ease. Upon arrival, he was very thorough in his evaluation, explaining things as he went along. It was determined that although not completely failing (yet), that the water tank should be replaced along with installing a water filtration system to eliminate the sediment coming in through the pipes into the house. Randy didn't try to upsell anything, just gave me his opinion, and left it to me to decide on what work he would perform. I opted to get the tank & water filtration system both done. The day of the repairs, Randy was actually early (nice!) and came ready to work. He got right to the job and did all the work we had discussed. He was prompt and efficient, and finished the job in a timely manner. He was personable, professional, and was clear in his explanations of the work he had performed. I had another service person come for a different job a couple of days later, and he even commented on the great job that Randy did installing the filtration system. From start to finish, this was an excellent example of a job well done, and excellent customer service. Randy also advised me of some other potential issues to watch out for and that he would follow up in the summer to ensure that the system he had installed was performing as expected. I would highly recommend Randy to do any work within his scope of expertise.

There was a problem with the water pressure and sentiment getting into the plumbing fixtures. After investigation of the issue I found the pressure tank needed to be replaced due to the age and lack of pressure. I explained the types of systems I could provide with the pricing options. We came up with a simple Twist 2 Clean filter that would be the least maintenance and cost to the customer. I arrived and installed the pressure tank and filter as discussed. In about an hour I was done. I explained the system and showed the installation of the items. Thank you for using Randy Marquis Well & Pump.

We purchased a house two years ago that had a poor water system due to delayed maintenance on the part of the previous owner. The well water was hard, and had some amount of sediment coming into the house as well. These issues had caused havoc with the boiler which was partially clogged with hard water buildup along with the sediment providing barely useable hot water pressure for the house. The rest of the house water pressure was also very poor due to a failing pressure tank that was close to the end of its useable life. We decided 18 months ago to look at what could be done to fix these issues and start talking to vendors about solutions. Randy was the first vendor to come to our house and was very helpful. He spent over an hour thoroughly investigating our setup and doing a free water test. He was very easy going and friendly during his visit and was not ?salesy? at all. We got a proposal shortly after which looked like a solid solution at a reasonable price. Not long after we had a second child and we ended up delaying the water repairs and only just got ready to get the work done in the last month (December 2014). We had three other vendors come to our house to do estimates. One of them looked over the system and then proceeded to bad-mouth competitors, but never followed up with a quote or return any of our follow-up emails. The other two offered similar proposals to Randy but were more expensive. We eventually decided to go for a more high-end system than our original plan?opting for a Grundfos constant pressure system, along with a sediment filter and water softener. We called Randy last week and asked him for an updated estimate factoring in the constant pressure system and he had it back to us in less than 24 hours. His quote was competitive to others we received and we decided to go with him for the work. A couple of days before the scheduled installation Randy let us know that he had a family issue come up and offered to do it a day earlier if that would work. We were able to work with that and he turned up promptly at the agreed upon time and got straight to work. He installed the systems on schedule, including having to run out to his supplier to replace a faulty part. He did a beautiful job with the installations and showed great attention to detail. It is clear that he takes great pride in his work and loves what he does. In spending time talking to him while he worked it was easy to see that he is a genuinely nice guy too! Unfortunately when he fired the new system up, the water pressure was great throughout the house for cold water, but there was no hot water at all. It turned out that the boiler mixer valve (which was previously in bad shape) had finally given up and the newly boosted pressure had caused some of the sediment to clog up in the water heating coil. Obviously after investing in a high end system we were really bummed and stressed to not have hot water in the house and Randy was disappointed to leave us with a less than perfect situation even though it was no fault of his at all. We have known for a long time that the boiler wasn?t in great shape (we were already in the process of getting estimates to add an indirect-fired water heater to solve this problem), and Randy?s only crime was to be unlucky enough to be the guy standing there when the proverbial hit the fan. Even though he had no obligation or reason to do so, he did offer us a discount because he was disappointed that we were not able to enjoy the new system as we had all been hoping. Before leaving he did his best to help us track down a heating technician to help us out ASAP, and then followed up with us the following day to see how we were getting along. It is abundantly clear that Randy genuinely cares about the satisfaction of his customers, and we can unreservedly recommend him to anyone.

I installed a new constant pressure system, back flushing sentiment filter, and a water softener. The job went as normal and the system worked perfectly. The problem occurred after we started to pressurize the home. Due to years (from the previous owner) of sentiment, hardness, and iron a couple of valves and the coil in the boiler got clogged to the point that he had no hot water. I really felt so bad for the situation. I knew it primarily was not my fault but now the problem was there and so was I. The home owner was stressed and I tried to do what ever I could to get someone to fix the problem. Unfortunately things did not work out. They got someone the next day and things are working fine. Thank you for the work!

We were hired by the building company to install a sand separator to remove particles in the well, this work was done at the same time the hydro-fracing was completed. Unfortunately the area where this home is is very volatile and water quantities change often. When we performed the hydro-frac the operator, new owner, and I verified the pump test to show how much water the well was producing. We were in all agreement with the well producing 6 gallons per minute. I was notified many months later that the well was not producing the same amount as what we noticed. I feel we did the best of our ability to help correct the issue and provide the best service. Unfortunately the new owner feels we are more responsible for the situation. I received many phone calls and responded to everyone of them. After numerous calls I explained that we possibly needed to drill a new well with the possibility of it going very deep (up to 900 feet). Once he found we would not continue to work for free he did not call back and posted this revue. We strive to provide the best product and service possible, sometimes no mater what you do it will not please everyone.

During the home inspection process for a home purchase, our water test came back with elevated bacteria and chloride. I called Randy to come out and give us some guidance and estimate and he did just that. He advised on when we should pour bleach into the well, how/when to bleed and then to call him to retest. He also explained the different scenarios that could contribute to the elevated levels such as new well pump installed but cleansing after the fact may have been skipped or the water systems being under utilized for a period of time. It was essentially free advice, but we'll definitely call him back for testing once we clean/bleed our water. He was professional and down to earth.

I called Marquis Well and Pump; Randy answered the phone himself. I explained the vent on the well cover might need repair and asked if he could look at it. He said he would come to the house "tomorrow or the next day" and he would call me first. He called the next afternoon to say he had time to look at the well cover and would be here in an hour or so. He arrived on time and spent a good amount of time explaining wells, pumps, vents, treatment systems.
Description of Work: Mr. Marquis inspected the well cover and advised it isn't in need of repair at this time. He also inspected the water treatment system, which is in good condition. He did suggest the pressure tank be replaced in the near future.

I was hired to get an estimate for an arsenic filter. I took a water test and with the results I found that we could remove the water softener and replace with an aeration system then an arsenic filter. Helen was having trouble with the large bags of salt for the softener. I was pleased that I could replace the current system with a system that would be less work for her. Randy was great. I called and left him a message at about 11 am the day before Thanksgiving, within about 30 minutes he returned my call. He said he had another job near me and that when he was done with that he would be over to take a look and that if he couldn't make it, he would be there first thing in the morning (Thanksgiving Day). At about 3 pm I received a call from Randy stating that his other job had canceled and he could come over and asked what was good for me. We decided on 4:30. Upon his arrival he started taking a look at my equipment and quickly diagnosed the problem and actually explained it fully to me in terms I understood. He quoted me a price and I asked when he could do it. He stated that he could have me water withing a couple hours, that he had everything he needed. It isn't very often that servicemen actually come prepared to do a job right then and there. Within about 2 1/2 hours I had water again. Everything you want in a service repair business-quick to respond, made himself available to respond that day, and had my job wrapped up in a little more then 2 hours. Through talking with him I could tell he actually cares about what he does and the people he is working for. Was very impressed and will recommend to anyone who needs his expertise.

Like most of the pump systems that fail prematurely the pressure tank was the issue. It made the pump short cycle and the whole system needed to be replaced. Things did work out so I could get them water that same day. What makes this job great is the opportunity to work with people like this. I have some of the best customers a business would want. Response from Randy Marquis Well and Pump
I got a call for irregular water pressure. I suspected the bladder tank but needed to see it to verify. Once on location I checked the tank. I was busted. I replaced the tank and offered to come back and provide a free onsite water test. I noticed iron staining in the piping and think a filter system would help stop staining the fixtures. Thank You for choosing us.

I was asked to give a quote for a water treatment system and one to correct low pressure in the home. I did a onsite water test and left a quote. I have not performed any other work and they were not charged a thing.

Randy was great. Everything you want in a service repair business-quick to respond, made himself available to respond that day, and had my job wrapped up in less then 24 hours. He even threw in a small extra fixit job free of charge. Quite honestly he is a welcomed rarity in the service business. He deserves an A+.

Response from Randy Marquis Well and Pump
I went over and looked at the pumping system and found the bladder in the water tank had busted and burnt out the water pump. I could not fix it the evening but the home owner wanted the work done ASAP. So we made a plan to start the job at 6AM, and fixed everything by 7:30. I noticed a leaking pipe and explained that it make a real mess if it bursts. I could not stand leaving them with this time bomb and just jumped up and repaired it so they would not have to worry. (Member name removed) was great to work for and thank you for the work!!!

Randy showed up on Sunday afternoon, June 2nd to check out our well point issue. He was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Randy started the project that afternoon by replacing the water pump and installing new well point. He was not able to connect the piping to the well point because he didn't have the heavy equipment necessary. Remember, he came by to "check the situation out", not do the task required. He came by this past Saturday to finish the job. We had ample water so it was not an emergency for them to return immediately.
Description of Work: Randy replaced our well point, water pump and he also installed two new water tanks in our basement.

When I come out to check the problem I try to bring everything to correct the problem. Once I talked to [member name removed] and explained her situation I told her I could start the fix ASAP if she wanted me to, and she did. Her pumping system was 25 + years old. It was starting to fail and the well point was not delivering water. She would start to fill the tub and the pump would just quit. So we replaced the pump, tank, & installed a new well point. It took us about 3 hours and we run the piping on the ground to get her going. When we were complete I asked her to run the tub to see if she liked it, she was so excited to be able to use water without the fear of running out. Some time went by and we went back to hook up the point underground. [member name removed] was a great customer and I appreciate the business. Thank You!
