I could tell from my first meeting with Dennis that he is a very knowledgeable professional. He knew how to take care of every aspect of my project without subcontracting. He inspired confidence as we talked over the project and I was delighted that he had the lowest quote. He had some unexpected delays in getting to my project, but he stayed in contact with me and always returned my calls within 24 hours. Dennis and his crew completed my project to my specifications without any problems. Their work is fantastic and their price is reasonable. On top of all of this, Dennis fixed and repointed some cracked bricks on the corner of my buildings foundation for free! I will definitely call Dennis for any future projects and I highly recommend him!

Dennis is an exceptionally capable and courteous professional. When he bid the job, he went over all of the details, the timing of how things were expected to go and was very detailed in his estimates. When we decided to hire him, he showed up on time and immediately got to work filling in the pool. I was nervous about this, but I had done quite a bit of research and Dennis was willing to do it exactly as I wanted. The processes were very quick and once the concrete had set, he got started prepping the walls and ceilings with patches and paint. There were some delays on our side with the cabinetry, countertops and appliances, but Dennis was always patient and worked around the delivery schedules. Dennis' partner Dave is an amazing carpenter and I would even say a craftsman. He's not the most pleasant guy, but once we realized that, we let him do his work and it really was top notch. Even when it came to the inevitable change order process, Dennis was really patient in explaining what needed to be done and the details behind any cost changes. He wasn't pushy at all and despite some disagreements, we hammered everything out and left on a friendly note. I have to add that we are VERY particular customers. I can honestly say that I haven't ever been able to write such a positive review of a contractor. In fact, I've rarely wanted to rehire anyone that had done work for us in the past. To me, this speaks volumes about Dennis and his professionalism. Everyone who has seen the before and after are completely shocked with the transformation. It is such a better use of that space. Some friends who thought we were crazy to remove an indoor pool are now in total agreement. It is simply beautiful. I'd upload photos if I could..can we?

Dennis of A&D renovations is a veteran contractor and consumate professional. He and his partner did all the work-no gang of young guys tagging along you need to worry about opening your home to. Dennis will immediately put your mind at ease that he knows how to do even the most complex jobs right. He worked with us on pricing and he's great at communicating-a rarity among contractors He informed us what he would be doing each day and what to expect at each stage of the job which made it easy to make adjustments on the fly. Since the work was done we've had the whole neighborhood complement us on how the house looks brand new. I've been unhappy in the past with contractors we've used so I learned to do 99% of our home renovations myself but can honestly say that Dennis is the guy I'll call from now on for the really big/tough jobs.

After reading so many great reviews about A&D and finally joining angieslist because i was tired of lousy service, i gave them a call. Dennis and i called and e-mailed for a couple weeks before we meant at my home. I wanted to get an estimate on finishing three rooms in the second floor of my home. Dennis came to my home which is about a 2 miles from his and took some measurements, He was professional and even gave me some compliments on the work i had already done and some pointers. He said he was booked for about two months but i was willing to wait .He said he would get back to me in a day or two with some numbers (the price,estimate). A week went bye i sent a few e-mails and phone calls.Then he sent an e-mail( i have your estimate i will give you a call). The next day we played phone tag he said he would call me around 5pm with the figures.I waited no call or e-mail.That was almost 2 months ago i live less then 5 mins away from him?? This is my first review of anyone so i was a little reluctant to write anything negative about a company that had such great reviews,but i am very disappointed.

Dennis responded quickly to our request for an estimate. Based on his estimate provided and ourfavorable first impression, we decided to hire A&D to perform the work. The project was started when promised and went well from start to finish. Both Dennis and Dave provided helpful suggestions during the 3 month project and were very accomodating when we made some plan changes during the process. We were also impressed with the consideration they showed our neighbors, especially during the noisy and messy demolition and framing stages.

I don't really think it could have gone better. We gave them a key and were basically not there while they were working. We were comfortable enough from the first meeting to feel safe doing that. We talked on the phone at the end of the day after we had seen the progress, and knew what was coming next. When they said this or that would be completed at a certain time, it was. Small glitches that popped up where dealt with professionally and with a good attitude, including the day they found out the new tub was cast iron (300 plus pounds). They finished when they said they would, and emphasized repeatedly that anything that came up later would only require a phone call to deal with. I don't expect to have any problems.

This was a big job in my old house. Nothing in the house is plumb or level, so it took a lot of problem solving and finesse to pull this all together. Dennis and Dave were superb, on the job every day, focused on my renovation and not other jobs. I felt like I was treated with great respect. I was updated and consulted on every aspect of the renovation. They were clean, in and out every day with very little interruption to my daily life. This is really one of the first experiences I have had with a contractor who is truly focused on customer satisfaction. I will seek out A&D Renovations for any/all jobs I have in the future!

Dennis did and continues to do a great job for us. Sometimes we feel like we have him on call. :-) Our old house has its challenges but Dennis greets them all with a willingness to help and a great attitude. We definitely bought a project house and Dennis has even shared some great DIY tips that have helped us be able to turn this old place into the gem we know it eventually will be. Dennis has been incredibly responsive and even when problems arise (as they do with our old house), Dennis has communicated well and honestly with us. He gave us a very fair quote when our long project started and stuck with it. Excellent quality of work and attention to detail. Overall, it has been a great experience with A&D Renovations.

A & D Renovations were amazing. They responded to my inquiry very quickly. Their quote was right on target and worked diligently to be sure the work was completed with the highest of quality while always looking for ways they could keep their costs down. While performing their work they kept the impact to the homeowners to a minimum. Dennis and Dave were very professional, fast and their work is of the highest quality. They were able to interpret our designs and transform them into a reality. Thank you guys!

The tile shower came out beautiful. The pattern of the tiles flows nicely. There are no awkward spots. Everything functions perfectly. The carpet and wallpaper also look great, and we appreciate the extra effort it took to work with wallpaper that had bubbles and curled edges. (The wallpaper was picked by us. The brand was Brewster, and we would never recommend it.) Everything A & D Renovation did was done with quality in mind. We would absolutely have them do work for us again.

He is very efficient, clean, and on time. He charges what he quotes and I would highly recommend him.

Dennis came to my home as scheduled. He listened to what we wanted done and provided an estimate within 48 hrs. He arrived on schedule and stayed in touch with me daily. The project went very smoothly and he cleaned up daily. He did such a good job on the first bathroom that we didn't want to lose him so we had him do the second bathroom. The money spent was to remodel both bathrooms. We are very satisfied.

Was very considerate that we were staying at the house while he did the job, Cleaned up all his mess every day when he finished working. Always concerned about what he was doing and if we were happy with it.

From the first day we met Artie and Dennis we felt like we were working with experienced professionals who knew what they were doing as well as how to communicate effectively with their clients. They listened to what we wanted. Made practical, well-reasoned suggestions for improvements and were very willing to work with us to fit the project we wanted into our budget. Throughout the project they displayed exceptional attention to detail and superior craftsmanship. They kept us apprised of the progress every step of the way. They explained the reasons for any delays and did their level best to meet our every expectation. These fellows are true Mainers in that they worked very hard and did everything they could to be able to be proud of the job they did for us and they have every right to be. They executed a $35,000 contract with only $880 in cost overruns, mostly due to upgrades we requested or situations beyond their control, like running into ledge while digging the foundation. I can't recommend these guys enough for quality, honesty and excellent communication.
