Description of Work: They did restoration work in my cellar.

Description of Work: We had a really bad storm here with 80 mile an hour winds and all the shingles on our roof blew off. We had $25,000 worth of water damage.

Description of Work: We had a mold problem and they do mold remediation. Viking fumigated the house and investigated the problem.

Description of Work: I had a leak from an ice dam on my roof and the ceiling on the inside was all board and all got damaged so they took that down and they took the insulation out. They put in new insulation, put up a new ceiling, and the rug on the floor got all wet. They cleaned all that up. They painted the ceiling and they painted the walls. It was quite a job. They put in some kind of equipment to dry out everything so that there wouldn't be mold and that was what took the time that let it run for about a week I guess. But altogether it probably took them three or four weeks.

Description of Work: Restoration after a fire. They cut corners, never came back as they said they would to complete items on punch list. When I asked about electrical outlets that were just covered over or left as a whole, they sent some one back who just plugged the hole and never made them functional again. The laminate flooring started peeling up in three months. They pulled out all the heating element in our finished basement and all the panelling and studs even though a small area on one side was involved with the fire and never told us why they pulled everything out? We were supposed to be out of our home for 2 months and we were out for 6 months. The project manager would absolutely NOT give us an allowance for anything no matter how much we asked for one. Then when we picked out items they charged us an incredible amount for basic laminant in the kitchen and berber carpeting. $6800 for 950 sq ft. REALLY? They left items on the original insurance estimate that they NEVER used for the job or never completed the service or project on my house. Since we did not have the thousands of dollars for this surprise bill they began to tally for us as they drew close to ending, they took it in "trade" not to finish our home back to the way it was prior to the fire. They had offered us not to complete our "finished basement" back to a finished basement to complete the job. The insurance adjuster placed much business with them, then he told us to go deal with them he couldn't help. (Even though he told us to hire them in the first place). I cry every day I think about how they took advantage of us and how much we lost in our homes value after they were done with it. What builder will not give you an allowance even when you ask mutiple times--even a range on what to spend, take the insurance money and then tell you, you spent too much, so how about we don't fix the rest of your house? I am sick thinking about it 5 years later!

Description of Work: Contacted owner of company November 9, 2012 to give us an estimate to address known mold issue in house just purchased. The house had been closed up for 1-2 years and water in basement remained when electricity was turned off and sump pump stopped. The crew conducted a walk through and submited a thorough review including photos of mold throughout the second floor ceiling, downstairs kitchen and dining room walls, etc. The initial estimate seem reasonable, so we said begin. None of us had any idea how extensive the damage was until layer upon layer was carefully removed by professional and responsive crew who consulted with us daily as they removed floors, ceilings and walls to get at and treat extensive mold and rodent droppings. They tried to preserve as much as possible, but little was salvageable in the kitchen and dining room areas. Not surprisingly, the final cost was higher than estimated and in retrospect we probably should have simply demolished the two rooms. But who knew. The mold removal and remediation was completed in late December 2012.
