Per the contract, it was agreed that I could get up on the roof to watch as the job was being performed. I immediately noted that they were cutting the ice and water shield into small pieces, rather than rolling it on as one large piece. Also, they were not overlapping the cut pieces but placing them end to end. I was informed that this is just the way they do it. Other roofing companies have advised me that the water membrane should have been installed as one large piece or at a minimum should have been at least 20' in length with overlapping of the cut pieces. Because of their poor workmanship, every year I must now deal with ice dams causing damage to the ceiling in my home. When my wife called the owner, Alex Cote, he was extremely condescending. He stated that it was impossible to roll out the ice and water shield in one piece because of its sticky quality. That is an interesting statement as we recently had a roof installed on our house in Florida, where the code requires that each water shield roll be rolled out fully with a minimal number of seams! As a temporary fix, I recently installed a roof de-icing system in an attempt to alleviate the problem, which also increases my electric bill Now I am considering the possibility of having to replace a roof that is NOT EVEN 10 years old! The original roof was 22 years old when it was replaced, and this new roof should have lasted the same amount of time. You can be sure that NWS will not install my new roof.

Excellent. I took several bids for roofing work to be done. Greg Shea came out and gave us a very thorough bid putting in detail everything that we wanted to have done. We took a while to decide on a roofer but he was not pushy and was always very professional and friendly. We eventually signed a contract with NWS Inc. to have the work done. We were told that if they found anything else that they would immediately bring it to our attention and before anything additional was done we would discuss it and sign a change order to have the additional work performed. The men worked in a very professional manner. Got there on time in the morning and worked quickly and efficiently throughout the day. Greg was always looking over the work and came to me with any issues that they found. He took digital pictures of the chimney and explained to us what the problem was and how to correct it. He also gave us time to discuss how to have the problems corrected and the cost. Also they cleaned up their mess each day so the yard looked neat when they were not working. The roof looks beautiful.
Description of Work: We completely replaced the roof on our house and shed. Additionally they removed facia and soffit boards and and soffit vent and corrected vent issues. Fully covered roof with ice and water shield. Installed 30year shingle roof system. Also while they were doing this work they found issues with the chimney and we had them install chimney cricket and lead flashing by the chimney base.
