Gary's Moving & Storage

The first move was incredible but when I called 5 days later and asked them to move me somewhere else because I didn't like the living situation, they made immediate plans to move me within 2 days. Once again, they moved me quickly, professionally and did not damage my things. All of the people that had working on both moves were outstanding. The office staff that took my calls were equally as professional.

From Beginning to end, this move was a complete disaster. They didn't show up till after 10:45 a.m.. didn't bring boxes, packing supplies and only had one roll of tape with them. I went to a packing store and purchased everything we needed. About 1/2 way through the move one guy said they had to get back to Saco. (it was between 3:00-4:00 when this happened). So I had to hire another guy to help us out. When we got to our new home (about 1 mile away), and they began unloading the truck we started noticing damage to our furniture, lampshades etc.. One guy took photos of the damage we noticed that evening and I was told to contact Suzanne on Wednesday of the following week, which I did. I was given 2 days to get a letter to them listing the damages. Sent the letter via email, twice. Suzanne said she never got the emails. Ended up taking the letter to their office in Saco along with 2 of the legs to my Captains desk... was told they would have new legs made and she would contact me next week. While I was there, I had her check her SPAM folder and my emails had indeed arrive. (Asked her to check her SPAM folder before I went up and she claimed the emails weren't there) Haven't heard from them in almost 3 weeks now. Suzanne claimed they've NEVER had any issues with moving people before and she just didn't understand what was going on and that things just didn't make sense. She at first blamed the guy we hired to help them move things from our apartment into our van for the damages. Then when I called her back the next week, she said that I had told the men that I had movers before who had damaged my furniture. Which DIDN'T happen!! We've NEVER had a claim against any moving company before. Tired of getting the run around and no responses, so I'm contacting The Better Business, Bureau, YELP, The Maine Attorney Generals Office and will be taking them to small claims court as well. Not going to take this sitting down.

One of my movers was arrested during the move, while I was enroute to the new location. Another person was sent in his place but I was not told the reason for it. My former landlord told me about the arrest later that day. The replacement mover used my bathroom, had trouble with the toilet and did not tell me about it. After the movers left I found what he left behind. I wrote a letter to the company complaining about the professionalism and they sent me an apolgy letter, with an explanation of the false arrest, and reimbursed $100 for the delay the arrest caused. It has been four years since my move so I cannot speak to the current professionalism of the company.

The people who came out were very personable. They came out on time for the move. They did all of the work that I asked them to do. The price definitely deserved an A.

It was a very good experience for us. I was glad that we went with this company. They were very punctual and considerate of my belongings. I would use them again.
