Where to begin: 1. Jeff's crew got little 'right' and then stopped showing up entirely. 2. Recessed lights were installed out of alignment (rows of lights were off by greater than 6 inches which required the lights to be moved, re-installed, ceiling to be patched and repainted!) 3. Electrical panel was both mis-labeled and labeled with a fat sharpie marker so one can't even read what breakers go to what section of the house. 4. Ran CAT6 ethernet cable in the walls, but left them just cut and unlabeled in the basement (ie. no way to actually use the cables because they lacked the portion one inserts into an ethernet port - literally just ran the cable portion) and refused to complete the work. 5. Failed to install under-cabinet lighting.HDMI cable which was run through the ceiling for a projector was defective and does not work (major headache to now fix). 6. Installed used or outdated mis-matched smoke detectors in our home. 7. Failed to run wires, as instructed and contracted to do so, for our doorbell. Resulted in hundreds of extra dollars being spent due to the wires needing to be snaked through finished walls v. wires run during construction. 8. Utilized non-compliant speaker wire for in-wall installation (have not tested whether the wires, like the HDMI, are defective). Code officer threatened to fine us for incorrect wires not being 'up to code'. 9. Left exterior outlets, during construction, exposed to the elements allowing water to penetrate freely through the conduit, enter the house, and damage our new hardwood floors. Sure, Jeff's truck's slogan reads, "Jeff the Electrician: We Return Phone Calls", but trust me, you don't want to have a reason for Jeff to call you back. What a low-bar to telegraph to the world anyway. Poor work, unprofessional, and extremely expensive to have another electrician come in and fix his work. Services: Electrical panel replacement or upgrading, Electrical outlet & switch installation, Electrical wiring installation, Electrical fixture installation

To be honest, the whole experience was frustrating and bloody awful. Initially he turned up on the day he said he would, switched out the breaker box and then said he'd be back on the Friday of that week to finish up. We didn't see him for a couple of months despite us keeping in contact with him. He repeatedly set up new appointments (I took time off work to accommodate him) and he broke them, he made excuses, re-booked appointments and broke them again. In the end we gave him the ultimatum of turning up to finish the work or issue a refund. He turned up but multiple parts of the work are not to code, we have a large hole (3" diameter) in one ceiling where he drilled to make a hole for 3/8" wire....absurd, no attempt to patch the hole. We asked for a 200amp, expanded breaker box. We got a slightly expanded box and despite asking numerous times, he never did confirm it's a 200amp box. One circuit in the attic is completely dead, despite him supposedly fixing it. From start to finish it all took 3 months for what should have taken 2 days. Also, there was no written contract and he asked for 50% up front. The legal limit for money up front is 30%. This is information we found out later. He should also furnish you with a copy of the Maine Attorney General Home Construction Warning which sets out your consumer rights. We've only just discovered this document exists and never received a copy from him. Just in case you're wondering why I included the picture of a light bulb, the light bulb should be covered with a shade to protect against walking into/breaking the bulb, exposing the internal contacts, risking a shock if touched. I would never use him again or recommend him. Check out his reviews on the BBB website and you'll also see reviews on here about him breaking appointments and poor work.
Description of Work: We had multiple electrical faults and also needed a new, larger breaker box and some knob & tube wiring needed to be removed and replaced.

Jeff has done work for me three times now. He is always very punctual in returning calls and showing up for appointments. Most importantly, he has an extensive knowledge of electrical work. I have great confidence in him.
Description of Work: troubleshooting, and then extensive updating.

We called a second time and he made another appointment and he did not show up for that one either. We had his services for electrical work at our home a few years ago and were satisfied and felt we could call him again for similar services. We felt that if he was too busy with other customers we would have liked him to explain that and possibly refer us to someone else or at the very least let us know that he couldn't help us this time.
Description of Work: Returned our call and set up appointment but did not show and did not call to explain his absence.
