I had been putting off a number of small plumbing jobs thinking that eventually I would get to them. As it was the number of these small repairs kept accumulating and I called Wayne's Plumbing. I had left a message and was called that afternoon and set up an appointment for 3 days later. That morning Ken was running a little late and he called to let me know. When he arrived he listened to my itemization and then went right to work. When finished he gave me an itemized list of the work done and the parts used. Total materials cost was about $95 dollars and the additional 2 hours labor at $75/hour was the total of my bill. We were so satisfied with his work on this first visit that two weeks later we called him for some additional work that would fit under the category of "new" rather than repair. I have every intention of using his services again for any of my future plumbing needs.

Ken was terrific. He showed up on time, wiped his feet when he came in, was friendly and helpful and was gone 30 minutes later. He also showed me things I could do to save a service call next time, and how to turn off the water heater when I'm gone. He also explained that other people in this area had been having trouble with a certain item and offered to check it out for me while he was here. I highly recommend him.

Fantastic. I can't say enough about Ken and his company. When you call, they get right back to you and get you scheduled regardless of the size of your plumbing job. They show up when they say they are going to. Ken is very personable and professional, as is one of the plumbers who works for him. I have absolutely no complaints or qualms about his company and I plan to use them again whenever I have plumbing issues. For what it's worth, Wayne's Plumbing/Ken Curlew (he's the second generation owner - Wayne was his dad, I think), is also very highly recommended through another group that I'm a member of (Mom to Mom of Maine). If he passes the "mom test" you know it's a great company!

I called Wayne's in the morning and they got back to me that evening to schedule an appt. The person on the phone was courteous and very helpful. On the day of the appt, the plumber was running late 30 min and called to let me know. But he also wanted to make sure that wouldn't cause me any scheduling issues--very thoughtful. Once the plumber got to my house, I showed him where the bathrooms were, the replacement toilets and he got right to work. It took him about 1 to 1/5 hours to do all of the work and remove the old toilets (including the boxes they came in). He did not spill A DROP OF WATER! Honestly, I could have done the work myself but it would have taken me twice as long, I would have flooded the place and the seats would have wound up crooked!

Ken (2nd generation owner) took apart my errant faucet, found a broken part. Instead of replacing the fixture, or ordering a new part, he took it back to his shop and machined a replacement. All done within two hours. I was/am hugely impressed with his resourcefulness and professionalism.

They came out and spent about 40 minutes. He was quick and efficient and he was a good teacher. The issue turned out to be not an issue when he got there. He charged me the minimum visit charge. I would definitely call him again.

They have been terrific! They are very honest and highly energetic. They are very responsive and fair. They have very good customer service. The approximate cost listed is for the last time they came out. I will continue to use them.

Both times Ken gave an estimate that matched his final costs. Both times he got back to me in a reasonable time to schedule the appointments, both times he and his worker were on time and completed the work satisfactorily. He advised against a more expensive repair indicating it wasn't necessary for code, saving me money.

Showed up on time, got the job done quickly and cleanly. Double checked that I was satisfied and even apologized for the amount of copper pipe he has to use (just a few feet!). Price was right - no big fees just to show up at the door. I've used them again already and will keep doing so.

Mr. Curlew was almost an hour late for the appointment. The faucet repair and shut-off valve installation appear to be adequate but the toilet leak is much worse than before. He replaced the tank ball but it didn't solve the problem. I've since read in a repair manual that it is pointless to replace the tank ball if the flush valve is pitted or disintegrating. That is what he did. Despite the fact that the leak wasn't fixed, he charged me for the tank ball and an additional half hour labor, almost $50, for his work on the toilet. He came back but only put in a different tank ball which didn't solve the problem. He told me if I wanted the leak fixed or a new toilet installed he would come back but he'd charge me his standard fees. The toilet now runs so much that I have to keep the door to the bathroom closed at night in order to sleep. I'm looking for another plumber.

It was terrific! It's a small family owned, second generation company. I dealt exclusively with Ken, the owner. He was able to attend to my issues quickly and efficiently. He was polite and respectful of my condo.
