Response from Sylvain & Sevigny Builders
The home we built was built on the site where the previous home had been burned by a fire. The previous home was uninsulated and had asbestos siding. We were asked to help by a neighbor who happens to be my painting contractor and gladly obliged. Focus for the home was to build an efficient well insulated home focusing on getting the shell right. Focusing on the parts of a home that are the most expensive to upgrade. With help from my vendors, sub contractors and even some of my clients donating time and or materials to the cost. Remind you how often does a $350k house have spray foam insulation, arc system, triple pane windows with fir interior, solid core fir doors, radiant heat on the main floor, custom kitchen w/ concrete countertops, marble shower with frameless glass door, standing seam roof, fiber cement siding, hardwood and tile throughout, and a fir deck? I am unsure what they meant by sloppy but that was not my intention and if you visit our website sylvainsevigny.com you will see sloppy is not how we do things. Also, my painter and myself built this home without paying ourselves and both ended up losing money on this project. At the end the owner's left both of us feeling unappreciated. You know the saying no good deed goes unpunished. We frankly had run out of money for the project and they became pissed about and fence and gate. I would like to take a moment to thank those who donated to this project and never got a big thank you they are as follows building materials Deering Lumber, ABC Supply, Guy Derosier P+H, Josh Underhill Electric, Norm's Drywall, Shipyard waste management, Katahdin Woodworks, Stone Craft, Steve Gendron tile, I&is insulation, Atlantic Coast Painting, Dee foundations and floors. Without these people the home built would not have been nearly as efficient and well built. Overall not disappointed that we helped but disappointed that our good deed lands us here we gave them a great base to work from with ability to add custom touches over time with the money they save having an efficient home.
