Where do I start! We hired Liberty Bell moving for a house move about 10 miles away. They showed up and the 4 men were very nice. But we walked through the house and we told them everything that was going. Like in our dining room and living room, it was everything except a table. Well, they left 2 of the biggest items behind, a very heavy entertainment center and a very heavy sitting area/coat rack. Then they tried to take apart a brand new treadmill, but said they forgot their tools. So we had to borrow tools from the neighbors. But then they stripped down the bolt so it couldn’t be taken apart, couldn’t be moved and now is in the house and the $1200 treadmill we cant move because they didn’t have tools. We had just spent over $5000 to paint the house and they destroyed 3 walls, huge gouges and skuff marks. We will have to hire the painter to come back as the house is sold and the walls look terrible. They spent 3 hours at the house loading stuff, 1 full hour they worked on the treadmill which should have been a 5 minute job, but they didn’t have the tools. They closed the truck and said they would meet us after lunch break at the new house. I had been outside with the animals and walked in to find all the stuff they left, I ran out, but they were gone. They should have walked through with me to make sure they got everything. They showed up at the new house about an hour and a half later. They unpacked and left about 2 hours later. We undid a TV and it was smashed, looked like a perfect partial handprint on the top of the screen. It was a 2 month old TV and its destroyed. I wish I had looked at the reviews ahead of time. We have reached out to the company asking about the destroyed walls, even the crew said they would share the pictures with the office as they damaged the walls and admitted it. We had to hire someone else to move the larger items they “forgot”. We cant move our new treadmill because they stripped the bolt down because they came unprepared for the move and tried to use things other then the right tools. And now our new TV is destroyed. Do not recommend at all, they have refused to write back or call. They charged me over $400 for time they took during their 1 3/4 hour lunch break. Very disappointing. The owner continually harasses and attacks clients, check out all the FB reviews. He threatens you if you leave a truthful review. They have the Angies List icon on top, thought we could trust that. So disappointing. Check the messages and texts from the owner demeaning clients.

So, it takes a lot to P... me off. But here we go! After the movers gouged our walls, broke a treadmill and a TV, the crew told us that we would hear from the "office" by Monday. Monday, nothing heard. I had also sent a FB message and got an automated response saying they would contact me. So, i left a review again after not hearing from them. The owner calls and starts in saying I was a "*****" for not calling him first before leaving a review. He goes on berating me while its on speakerphone in front of a lot of ears and i hang up. He then starts texting me calling me "fat Boy" and saying other inappropriate things. I actually had the realtors and title people ask who we were using as they always get requests for movers. Well, I cant wait for them to hear about this experience. Then he threatens to take me to court for defamation, even though its factual and his guys confirmed it. Never use Liberty Bell Moving & Storage of Maine or Liberty Bell Moving & Storage of New Hampshire (same owners). They also own Liberty Bell Furniture Services. These were the texts after i hung up on him for his comments. All my realtor friends, please NEVER recommend these guys. I am going to print off my review and the texts and send them to every realtor in Maine and NH. To treat a customer like that is not ok! Please share so people know about these guys He continues to send texts and emails calling me a "*****" because I left him a bad review. Since this was posted on his site, I have received dozens of messages from people who had the same experience. He bullies people to try to make you think you can't leave a truthful review. They also charged me $400 for their 1.5 hour lunch break! Do your research, checks his multiple Facebook pages and read all the reviews. don't fall victim like we did.

DON'T HIRE THESE MOVERS. Last August, my neighbor hired Liberty Bell Moving & Storage to help them with their move. The movers hit my bicycle, locked off-street, with their truck when they were parking it. According to my neighbors, the movers said "oh that'll be a $25 fix, no big deal" when they saw what they'd done. My rear wheel, derailleur, and bicycle frame were all bent in the collision. Liberty Bell has been completely unresponsive, even after I won judgement in Small Claims Court, owing me ~$700. This company is irresponsible, negligent, and reckless.

**Beware of non-agreed additional charges and late arrival** When I initially booked liberty bell to move chairs 1/2 mile down the road from my ceremony spot to the reception I was guaranteed verbally it would be completed on time at the cost pre paid. I was charged the company standard gas charge even though it was only a few miles but I was ok with that. They did an ok job took longer than I was told and they were a little bit late maybe that’s why, 2months after my wedding I receive one call notifying me I have a balance and they have been texting and emailing me and I have now incurred over due fees. It was the first time I had even heard from them and hadn’t received any calls, texts or emails. I called to try to see if we could come to an agreement since I was “guaranteed” my move would be done within an hour and it would be one price. The person I spoke with kept repeating the same thing to me , raising his voice, talking down to me and not acknowledging that his employee gave me false promises of pricing and timing. They have absolutely no sense of making it right what so ever. I would suggest going with a different company unless you want a call 2 months later asking for more money that wasn't agreed upon.

Excellent! I received a quote and checked around, and the price was in the range of other movers. The agreement was for three movers (needed because of the heaviness of the tub) and a one hour move. They were admirably early - when I arrived seven minutes prior to the agreed upon start time of 1PM, the truck was parked in front of my dad's house. They had the right equipment - the truck had a lift - and that's good because the tub is very heavy; I wouldn't have wanted any of them to be hurt in the process of moving it. They were very quick to move the tub to the truck, they arrived at my house before I did, and they cheerfully rolled the tub into the backyard for me. The whole thing took less than a half hour. I would happily use them again.
Description of Work: They moved a very heavy cast iron claw foot tub, and some smaller items belonging to it, from my father's garage to my backyard - I'm refinishing the tub so I didn't want it brought inside the house.

Great bunch (6) of workers. All very efficient and courteous. Only complaint has to do with price/billing. Am in the process of following up on this, but here in a nutshell. To work with the customer, Liberty Bell sets up a personal internet "portal" in your name. This was done for us on or about August 5, 2014. At that time the portal advised that, based on inventory, weight, etc. we would be charged about $3,700. (The exact figure I do not have available at the moment). The portal contained a link to click on to accept and authorize this deal. You are then told there must be a down payment of (what works out to be) 30%. We used PayPal to make this approx. $1,100 payment. On September 5, the date of our move, I was present in Yarmouth as their trucks (2) pulled out, while my daughter Julie was present in Windham to supervise the unloading, etc. and of course to pay the balance of our contract--which she did. When I next saw Julie (the following day) it turned up that the balance she had paid worked out not to $3,700, but to about $4,800. (Again, my figures here are from memory and not exact.) So I logged back on to our "portal" to verify our original deal. But, lo and behold, there the "estimate" for our move was shown as $4,800. Julie then told me that they had presented no invoice or statement showing or explaining the difference between what we had "accepted" on August 5, and what we were finally charged. The person requesting payment instead referred to his IPAD (or something like it) to let her see the balance owed--which, as I have said, represented a contract price of about $4,800. I have been tied up with a number of things that have kept me from following this up, but I do think there are legitimate reasons why this happened as it did. The basic issue here would be that whoever put together the original "estimate" failed to take account of the time factor (a full day versus a half day) or, perhaps, the (lack) of easy access at the destination. I am confident that I will find justifiable reasons for the disparity, but at the same time knew you would "want all the details."

They moved us from a one story house in Standish to a 2nd floor apartment in Biddeford. The two man crew were extremely courteous and professional. The two young men helped us feel very comfortable with the move. The people in the office were extremely pleasant to deal with also. Check out their website. That is how we chose them, and it was the right choice!

I received a call a little before the movers were due to arrive saying they would be late. They had a sick crew member and would need to pick up another. The call was appreciated and they were only 40 minutes late. I was impressed with the call and how quickly they handled the situation. Then the movers showed up ready to work. They clearly knew what they were doing. Asked appropriate questions and even assisted. We were still packing so to make it go faster, one of the movers asked if it would be helpful to take the boxes we were finished taping to get them out of out way. That made the process go faster for us and kept us ahead of the movers since we weren't moving around boxes in a small room. They were polite and professional and I spent a little less than they quoted. The suggestion to hire 3 movers at the higher rate saved me plenty. They didn't break 1 thing. They took the time to ask where to put things because I moved to a smaller space. They remained good natured through the whole job and the garage wasn't so pleasant with all the dust and dirt.
Description of Work: First, I made a mistake typing in my e-mail address and the e-mail quote bounced when they sent it. So I received a call in the evening, apologizing for calling and not e-mail but making sure I got my quote. That was important. I gave them very little notice. Then they performed a local move for me

Not being native to Maine, looking for a company to move our daughter from near Waterville, Maine to our Bucks County, Pennsylvania home was a daunting task. When she first made the move to Maine, we went through the learning curve about hiring movers--there are a lot of scams out there. We learned to look local and ask a lot of questions. We also learned to check Angie's list and the Better Business Bureau. Liberty Bell Movers were responsive to our needs from the first. We had a short timeline and we wanted assurances that they would be there to load the trucks at the scheduled time since my husband was taking off work and flying up to help with the move. Not only was Liberty Bell on time, they were 15 minutes early! They worked efficiently, clearing the apartment in about two hours. They arrived at our Bucks County home within the promised time-frame, no easy feat considering Northeast Corridor traffic. Before they took anything in the house they padded the door frame and covered the stairs . The movers were professional, courteous, and accommodating. They never stopped and it was clear they wanted to get things right. The price for this move was fair and the service was outstanding. I would encourage anyone moving anything in Maine to contact this company. We spoke to at least five companies before deciding on Liberty Bell; we are grateful for their honesty and hard work.

John and Ron were very professional and careful. This was our second move with Liberty Bell and our second time working with John and he is just great to work with. He is very responsive to requests and very knowledgeable about the best way to move things. It turned into a miserable, rainy day, but they handled everything very well. We would recommend them to anyone looking for a mover. The one thing they didn't do was to email us a copy of the final bill, which was signed electronically. I will have to remind them.
Description of Work: Liberty Bell moved us from a small cottage (about to be renovated) to an apartment about 7miles away. The area is about 50-60 miles from their office. They moved just the big stuff and did not need to pack anything in boxes. They did need to take a few pieces of furniture apart.

They sent 2 trucks and 4 workers to do the original move, which was a two day job. They arrived exactly at the time they said they would on both days and were able to complete the job and leave PA late on the second day. The men were friendly, polite, considerate, and professional in every way. They handled our goods carefully. They did not exhibit any "attitude" other than to get the work done efficiently and competently. At no time did they seem displeased or unhappy with any questions or changes we asked for. Overall, they were people we were comfortable to have in our house handling our personal goods for two long days. One of the workers on the job was actually the owner of the company. He seemed to have a good relationship with the other guys and I don't think their behavior would have been different if he hadn't been there. On the second part of the job, which was to bring up some of the packed goods from their facility in Maine to our cottage and self storage unit, one of the original workers and a new person (to us) did the work. Again, very professional, polite and competent. They actually had everything sorted correctly so it went smoothly. For a small additional charge they moved some items from the cottage to the self storage unit. We would highly recommend this company for small or big jobs. They know what they are doing, no one smokes anywhere near the job or house, and all the people we met were interesting to talk with as well as being proficient at what they do. Additionally, they are friendly and helpful over the phone and are quick to return calls. We have moved several times, twice overseas, and this company has been one of the easiest and most helpful to work with along with being very competitively priced.
Description of Work: Liberty Bell Moving and Storage packed and moved all the goods from our 4 bedroom suburban home in PA to Maine. They delivered most goods to their new storage facility in Maine, but also brought some items to our summer cottage and other items to a self storage unit near our cottage.

Liberty Bell had called to confirm with me that they could change the initial move date due to weather conditions earlier that week. The day of the move they showed up on time, had moving materials (pads, straps, dollies, etc) to move the piano out through a small-roomed house, out through a back sliding door, and into a first floor living room. I felt they took great care with moving my piano, piano stool, and a few boxes of piano rolls to a new location. I found Liberty Bell via a YouTube video which showed them moving a woman's piano. When I called they gave me a clear quote and timeframe so I had a clear idea of everything involved. They were able to complete paperwork on an ipad/tablet and emailed me receipt. I would definately use them again. They are a smaller outfit and I believe they took care to meet my individual customer needs.
