We had a very good experience with them. They did a great job. They spent a lot of time reviewing the energy in our house which was very high. They did a very thorough inspection of the house and came up with some excellent solutions which in fact we noticed some of the impact almost immediately. We obviously expect the biggest impact this coming winter. They did a great job and we were extremely impressed. I don’t have a comparison for the price because we did not get other bids.

Evergreen came highly recommended by multiple people in the Maine energy efficiency community, and our experience confirmed their recommendation. Richard and his employees met with us to discuss our efficiency goals and give us a sense of the potential for improvements in our home, then conducted a comprehensive free energy audit that provided us with detailed modeling of multiple upgrade scenarios. We settled on a relatively modest set of improvements to our home, built in the 1890s and completely without insulation. I did not compare prices with other vendors, so am unable to rate their pricing. The workers were conscientious and unfailingly polite in their work, accommodating the nap times of two small children. The work was top quality, and has transformed the comfort of our home in winter. They also helped guide us through the process of obtaining financing and qualifying for the available incentives. Great company and great work.

it was a positive experience. We have pretty brutal siding on our house and they managed to get it off, put insulation in, and put it back on without breaking it which was huge because that would have been another $1,800 to repair or replace the siding. They were considerate and nice folks. They cleaned up after themselves.

From the first phone call, the folks at Evergreen were more than helpful and professional. I truly can't say enough about how much it meant to me to have prompt responses to my calls--particularly given that I'd tried reaching a few other insulation contractors and they'd never returned my messages. Evergreen was the third (and last) estimate that we were planning to get for the job we had to do. We were running short on time to get our job under contract, because we needed to finalize paperwork for the PACE loan, and Richard went above and beyond to ensure that he could fit us into his schedule quickly, and sent us the written estimate in only two business days after. When he came to the house, he spent a lot of time explaining things to us, and talking us through options. We'd already had an energy audit done, but he said that he'd feel better doing his own blower door test, since the numbers on our initial audit seemed inordinately high. He did this test at no cost to us--it's just part of the service they provide. (I suspect that if we'd needed him to write up the official report/results of the blower test for Efficiency Maine, then we'd have to pay fees, but it was really nice of him to double-check our initial audit.) Ultimately, we decided to go with one of the other contractors, simply because the estimates were lower and included a bit more work (in part this was because we didn't want foam insulation in the basement, which Evergreen would've done, and the contractor we did choose is putting in foam board). Nonetheless, we were very impressed with Richard and all of our interactions with Evergreen, and would highly recommend anyone I know to consider them if they're looking for local, reliable, and professional insulation and sealing work...you won't find anyone more attentive!
