The work was not completed as contracted. The work done was inferior in products used, work done and damage done to our home. There was a promise to make it right that never was fulfilled.. See explanation above
Description of Work: overall his audit was fine but there were a few interesting things about this whole transaction. Darrel Cooper recommended a contractor to do weatherization work on our home. The contractor failed to do the work as contracted. The work he did do used inferior products and workmanship despite us calling him on it (basically he lied and never returned to complete the work as contracted (even in an inferior way)). Rick Higgins actually moved out of town before our project was complete! Paul Button, Darrell's boss (owner of Energy Audits Unlmtd) reassured us that this contractor was a reliable and hardworking man! In retrospect it seems like a convenient arrangement between the three of them. Shame on us for trusting any of them - Rick Higgins the 'contractor', Darrell Cooper the manager, and Paul Button, owner of the company. I think that they took our thousands and are laughing about it to this day. Turns out that Darrell Cooper/his wife had actually hired Rick Higgins to work for them at their investment property in Blue Hill! No wonder why he did not come back and complete the job. It's no surprise contractors don't want to be licensed in the state of Maine - they would no longer be able to get away with ripping people off like this!
