BOB'S APPLIANCE SVC

Bob came out and fixed my fridge that wouldn't defrost. He defrosted the refrigerator and replaced the motherboard. He neglected to check the freezer which turned out to also have a huge block of ice which I defrosted myself. Problem started again over 4th of July weekend. I called on Monday when he opened. He said it had been 91 days so he won't warranty the repair. I work in construction and while we have a 1-year warranty on the houses, we do not leave customers hanging on technicalities.

Our washing machine stopped working over the week-end. We called Bob's Appliance on Tuesday morning and he was able to come right away. We needed a new pump. Bob said it would be 2 or 3 days before he would have the part. He called on Thursday evening that he had the pump ad was here Friday morning at 9:00. The price was reasonable and the service was prompt and professional.

Everything was done according to plan. Bob is also trustworthy.

I called a few companies the night before and left a message. Bob's was the first who called me the next morning and came out that afternoon. My dishwasher was leaking and I didn't know why. He came out, opened the dishwasher door, noticed the seal was broken. He then started the dishwasher to be sure the leak wasn't coming from anything else and inspected the inside and underneath. It was just the seal, so he replaced it. He was only hear about 25 minutes tops. He was professional and friendly. The only thing I didn't like is, when we spoke that morning, he never informed me that there would be an automatic $80 service charge added to the bill. He also didn't mention this charge to me before replacing the seal. I finally was aware of it when he gave me my copy of the invoice. Granted, he said it would be about $171 total but never said that $80 of that was for placing the service call alone. When I mentioned that to some other repair companies, who I had also called and they called me back that afternoon, they said they would not have charged me a service call fee. I was a little disappointed in how he was not specific in the charges. I would have gone with someone else and only paid around $100, because it was just a door seal, or my husband could have put it on for the $20 for the part. Other than that, it was installed properly and no longer leaks.
