Description of Work: Ted Wandishin was helpful & informative in helping us select a lot from those available. Ted also guided us in the process of custom designing our cape home, & understanding the sequence of steps involved in building a home. He was easy to reach & always responded quickly. Glen Gervais acted as the general contractor in the building of our new home, coordinating with many subcontractors. Glen communicated and updated us almost daily during the building process & was always happy to answer any questions. It was only 11 weeks from breaking ground to the completion of our home, & Glen kept all subcontractors on schedule. Glen has high standards in terms of expecting quality work from subcontractors. Glen & Ted really want their customers to be happy, & were very willing to attend to the smallest details concerning the finishing of our home. They are both nice guys & were very enjoyable to work with during the entire process. Ted & Glen made the whole house building experience enjoyable and exciting. We enthusiastically recommend them to anyone wanting to build a home.

+ 0 moreThe builder's quality of workmanship was above average and I was very pleased with the soundness and quality of construction. Communication was very poor. The builder did not install the heating and cooling system that I had specified. They installed a heat pump that was manufactured over 6 1/2 years prior to the date of it's installation. I had not requested a heat pump, but rather an air conditioner, which the builder claims was not available. They did not notify me of this substitution and refuses to make any accommodation,

+ -1 moreExcellent communication. He was in touch with me almost daily by email or by phone. Any problems or changes I wanted to make, they were very responsive. We had only one change that we thought was very expensive and not necessarily called for but it was with the electric company and they didn't really have any control over that. Everything else they did they followed through on and have done well. They are known for superb craftsmanship and that was the case here. When they say something will be done, it will be done. In an environment where builders do not have to be licensed, Custom Build Homes of Maine is a company you can trust.
