Description of Work: Repairs from burst pipe causing major water jdamage.repairs consisted of laying new floor, repairing walls, placing cabinets back in place. Previous hardwood/carpet had been layer on a subfloor that had to be removed. None was put back down (which may not be necessary) however, caused problems with a nice result due to the height difference between the two floors. All the door moulding were left high, a tall cabinet was not raised to the ceiling height and blocked up (leaving about 5/8" gap at the ceiling). The transitions between hall and other rooms were poorly handled and had to be addressed. Hall to basement actually caused a tripping hazard which was addressed. I had asked for an adjustment be made to the kitchen island so I could remove the trash compactor and take it to my current home. (It is old but works well) Owner worked that into the estimate for a custom built bookshelf to replace the area of the old compactor. I went in to find the compactor all reinstalled. I emailed to find out why, the explanation was they had decided that since it was old, they thought I would be better off getting a new one! (This is NOT an item I would buy for myself...way too expensive) there were other things, too. Like not attaching the island top to the base... Over all, the floor looks good, but they are not finish carpenters. The contractor that did the drywall was excellent! We did remedy most of the items I was concerned about, although there was still a piece of moulding left off in front of the trash compactor. As it was clear I was asking too much to have these items corrected, I decided I would put the moulding on myself....
