They sent a man out right away but only if I paid $139 up front no matter what it needed. That was very high, I thought. He spent about 5 minutes looking at it and told me it had a bad switch in the mechanism but that I needed to replace the whole thing at another cost of $179. I reluctantly said OK, and he left saying they'd order the part. I waited well over two weeks and heard nothing. I finally called. No response. After 3 days the guy finally called on a Monday and offered to send the guy with the part the following Friday. I objected strenuously and finally he said he'd try to get someone that day. So someone finally did come with the part. He spent another 10 minutes putting in the new part. Great. It worked fine. But almost 3 weeks and $318 for a total of 15 minutes work and a cheap part?? I wouldn't call that fair or good. I will not use this company again.
Description of Work: My refrigerator stopped dispensing ice and water from the door.

Over the years we have dealt primarily with Bob Chesley, the service manager and his service person, Tim (don't know his last name, unfortunately). We actually met Bob when we were building our house in 1997 and he worked for another appliance company. One call to the company that we had bought the appliances from, had to do with a front loading washing machine that would not drain and was filled with water and clothes. We were told by the place that we had purchased the machine that the service people could and quot;fit us inand quot; sometime the following week. The machine was still under warranty. The service center of this store was not affiliated with the showroom, meaning that you were a faceless caller to them. They could not have cared less about my issue. I called Bob at his new place of business and he was able to get someone out within two days and fix the problem. The problem being that I had washed a rug in the machine, the backing had disintegrated and plugged the pump. The fact that we had not purchased the machine from his was of no concern. When the hinges on our stove failed, later that year, I bypassed the place where we had bought the stove and went right to Bob at Appliance Warehouse. He not only had the hinges replaced within a few days, but when those hinges failed he talked to the manufacturer on our behalf, trying to figure out the problem. After another set of hinges failed we opted for a new stove. The problem was not with Appliance Warehouse, but the manufacturer of the stove. Once we had researched and found what we wanted, Bob got us the best price and had it installed within a week of ordering it. The same was true of the fridge that we replaced last October. Bob often comes on installation calls, he is professional, friendly and does not leave until everything is set and ready to go. He always remembers us when we call with a question or service need (maybe because we are pretty certain about what we want and a bit picky???). Which leads me to the quality of the service. One of my big peeves is when you have a service call and are told that they will arrive sometime within a 6 hour period. That does not happen with Appliance Warehouse. They schedule a time and they show up, if they are running late they will call and tell you that and offer to reschedule if you would prefer. We have always had the same service person, Tim. He is a master. We have never had anything that he can't fix with the exception of the hinges that were faulty. Once on a call for the stove, he noticed the sound coming from the spin cycle of the washer, much like the sound of a jet taking off, suggested that it was likely the bearings going bad. He advised us to be aware and think about considering a new machine as the cost of replacing the bearings on such an old machine might not be the best option. We did some research, found that he was right and were prepared when the thing finally died. He never pushed us to buy a new one or fix the old, just gave us the options and his opinion. He has always fixed the problem with the most effective and least expensive option available. Lastly, I would say that both Bob and Tim are just really nice people. They are easy to deal with, friendly and know their business. I can not recommend them or Appliance Warehouse more highly. You won't be disappointed.
Description of Work: Most recently, sold us a new fridge and provided service for an existing washing machine. We have used them in the past for the purchase of a new stove and service on appliances as needed.

Their response was very professional and friendly. They came once to diagnose the problem and a second time to install a repair part that had to be ordered. The serviceman was polite and efficient and left the area clean and orderly. The office was very helpful in determining whether a repair or replacement was most appropriate, and their estimates were very accurate.
Description of Work: Called Appliance Warehouse in regard to a dishwasher repair.

The repairman checked out my washer and gave an estimate for repairs. He was honest in saying that buying a new washer would likely be more cost efficient. I went to Appliance Warehouse and bought a new washer there. I have bought several large appliances there in the past. The people at Appliance Warehouse are always friendly, helpful, and knowledgable.
Description of Work: My wash machine stopped working. I got quotes for repair services from Appliance Warehouse and from another appliance store. Applicance Warehouse's quote was slightly less, and I called them for repair service. They sent a repairman.

He left without repairing or ordering a part that might be the problem on the fridge. It was covered under the 1 yr. warranty and he would have gotten paid but never did anything to fix it. He just didn't care. That serviceman is a reflection on Appliance Warehouse in Auburn and it's a very negative attitude to good service.
Description of Work: Called for warranty on fridge. Had dripping problem with water dispenser. He claimed I didn't have problem. It wouldn't drip enough for him and it did for me before and after he came. It would drip up to 9 drips and LG said that sometimes no more than 3 drips may occur. He had a TERRIBLE attitude and a chip on his shoulder. The minute he walked in the door I could sense it and he hadn't even seen the problem yet. I was not demanding or expected more than I wanted from him but his was an AWFUL serviceman. I have used Appliance Warehouse in the past with a fabulous service man that no longer works for them. Since LG said they were the co. to call for warranty service I called them but in the future I will PAY someone else even if the warranty is not that co. just not to call Appliance Warehouse in Auburn. The cost involved is from a washing machine part that needed to be replaced but the fridge was under warranty so there was no cost for that.

My year old Whirlpool refrigerator stopped cooling and making ice. There were ice crystals forming inside the freezer as a steady drip continued to flow inside. Of course, it was Labor Day. I called Lowe's, where I had purchased it, and reported the issue (it was under warranty). They scheduled service for Wednesday. On Tuesday, the company called and asked if they could come out immediately. I told them no one would be home, but if they could just come in, it would be fine with me! That was fine with them. Tim came out, identified the problem, fixed it (loose wire), cleaned out the freezer including defrosting it! I don't know about the price because of the service contract, but I do know they were flexible enough to allow entry without anyone home and that is terrific! I wish more companies did that.
