+ -1 morePaul was very responsive in returning my call. He was able to schedule an appointment within a few days of our call. We had to reschedule the day before our appointment and he was very accommodating. He came on time and identified and fixed the problem with 15 minutes. Very friendly too.
Description of Work: Repaired defroster drain in freezer and swapped out a side panel in fridge.

+ -1 moreIt went so well. Mr. Rogers was wonderful: very knowledgeable and professional. I called him at approximately 10AM. He returned my call within one hour and was at the house at 1:30PM. He replaced a door latch on the machine. (for some reason, washers will not spin properly if there are issues with door latches.) After the replacement, the washer still would not spin properly. He advised me that it was better to get a new machine, rather than do a costly repair to the machine's computer motherboard. As a last ditch solution, he advised me to turn off the circuit breaker for the machine and wait one hour to turn it back on. This sometimes clears the computer in the machine and resets it. I did this and IT WORKED!! Very well worth the $82 service call as I did not need a costly repair or a new machine. Highly recommended!!!!

At 12:53 p.m. he called to say he was running a little late but was still here by 1:15 p.m. He quickly diagnosed the problem - bad thermostat - and had the part in his truck. He was done within half an hour. Very personable and professional. I will definitely use him again and recommend him to others.
Description of Work: Fixed my clothes dryer which no longer had any heat; needed new thermostat.

When he returned and fixed the washer it was right and the cost was under the estamate by about $10. Excellent job

+ -1 moreIt went excellent as it always does when I hire him to do work on one of my machines. He is very polite and doesn't have any problems with you watching him or asking questions which is nice. He has always been on time and has never not been able to not fix what ever is gone wrong. He is also very quick to answer the call for service. He fixed the hose helped me to get things back in order. I have since converted over my mother and two of her friends to his service and they have all been very satisfied with his work and are grateful at how nice and polite he is. His prices have always been very reasonable for what he does. I would and have reccomended him to anybody that needs appliance service and maintance.
Description of Work: He repaired the hose to my washing machine which had flooded my laundrdry room.

+ -1 morePaul was very pleasant but seemed unfamiliar with both appliances. He told me to get Whirlpool appliances in the future.
Description of Work: He looked at my LG refrigerator (which has a broken plastic latch so it doesn't automatically close tightly unless pushed) and said it would be pricey to fix. He looked at the gasket around my GE stove top and tried to push it back it back in place and said it probably got that way from heat.

He was very polite and didn't have any objections to me watching what he was doing and even asking him an occasional question or two. He was a very pleasant man and someone that I would tell all of my family and friends about. The fact that he was able to do it so quickly and didn't have to order the belt which would have taken longer to get it fixed made me a client forever. If I ever had any other appliance break down he would be the first one that I would call. His prices were more than reasonable and his ability to get it done in such a timely manner made it that much better. I have nothing but great things to say about Paul Rogers and his company.
Description of Work: I called on 12/27/2012 because the drum on my 23 year old dryer had stopped moving around. I explained it to Paul Rogers on the phone and he told me that it was probably just the belt and that he could come out the following day to replace the belt(which he had on hand and didn't need to order it). He showed up right on the time he had given me and introduced himself and gave me one of his cards. He went right to work and had it finished and working and everything cleaned up and put back the way it was in less than a half an hour.

Description of Work: My first call was highly recommended but he did not service our outlying area, so he recommended Roger's Appliance whom he knew well for 20 yrs. Roger was very well qualified as he explained the troubleshooting process. The circuitry had apparantly been compromised by the thunderstorm activity the prior night. The rate was $80 per hr and that was exactly how long it took to diagnose the problem. Though it seemed a lot to know that it was hopeless but it helped leap us into a used washer that was recommended. He had no compulsion explaining the poor quality of the existing machine. He described the potential repair but suggested not to waste good money on a poor quality product such as we owned. We found a good used washer that Roger recommended which in our opinion, helped redeem the overall occurence. I would use him again for another service call .

Description of Work: Drum rollers on LG dryer needed to be replaced. Roger came on 1/23 and diagnosed the problem as being worn drum rollers. We ordered the parts and they arrived on 1/27 (had them shipped right to my house). Roger came back on 1/30 and installed them. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt, would not hesitate to use him again.

+ -1 moreJim fixed the igniters on the first trip. Then he evaluated the problem with the isemaker which required a new part. We made arrangements to have him return in 2 days with the part and install it, which he did. Everything is working great! I hope nothing goes wrong with any of my appliances again, but if it does, I will definitely call jim!
Description of Work: Jim had to fix the igniters on my gas stove and figure out the problem with my icemaker. He did this all qiuickly and efficiently.

+ -1 morePaul went to her house the same afternoon I called him and got back to me promptly to let me know that the knob needed to be replaced and that he needed to order a part that he could use to make it work as they did not make the replacement knob anymore. Paul went back the next day and fixed the knob...the machine works great again. I would hire him again in a heart beat!

+ -1 moreMr. Rogers advised me not to repair the glass top on the stove as it would be more than the stove was worth, and he told me it was okay to use - not dangerous. I really appreciated that advice, especially the next time I priced my stove at Lowes!

The first visit was to listen to the dryer and diagnose the problem; he IDed the problem quickly, promised to order the part, and set up a time for the next appointment to fix the dryer. During the 2nd appointment when he had the dryer taken apart he realized that there was actually a second piece that needed to be replaced as well; he fixed this during his 3rd visit. Throughout the process Paul was polite, professional, and punctual. I would definitely work with him again.

+ -1 moreWe have a professional-type stove that is no longer made under its brand name (Dynasty), although a nearly identical stove is available under the Jade brand. The oven stopped working, and all of the repairmen I called (before Paul) refused to work on the stove because they were unfamiliar with the brand. Paul arrived the day after I called him and diagnosed the problem. I ordered the parts from the factory and called Paul when they arrived; he came to install them the next day. He was prompt, professional, confident, and effective. His bill for two house calls and the repair was $80, considerably less than I had expected (or feared). Both for the price and the experience, finding Paul was easily worth the cost of subscribing to Angie's List.
Description of Work: Paul replaced two igniter's and one burner in the oven of our kitchen range.

+ -1 moreNot much to tell. He showed up on time, was professional and cordial, explained things clearly, didn't try to charge us for anything we didn't need, and left the area as neat as he found it. We were charged only for the service call ($65) and felt it was completely worth it. We will most definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Analysis of cause for washing machine problem (stopping mid-cycle and failing to restart). Serviceman adjusted a loose switch that was causing cycle to stop midway and gave us some advice on what to do to prevent it from loosening again.

Showed us where the problem was and how to avoid it in the future. Cleaned up after himself. Charged a flat fee for service rather than an hourly rate. Very personable and professional.
Description of Work: Paul repaired a drier and replaced the thermostat. He also checked the washer for a suspected leak but there was no leak.
