Description of Work: The plumber from Bob Miles repaired a very leaky kitchen faucet, repaired an outside faucet, and replaced a shower head. He was very professional and efficient, and I would definitely use them for any future plumbing needs.

Description of Work: We had this company convert our home fro oil heat to natural gas. The work was superb, neat and clean. The workers were clean, neat and very professional. They patiently answered all of my questions as the work progressed. It took 3 days to complete and at the end of each day, their work area was neat and tidy. They hauled off all of the materials including old pipe insulation, the oil tank and the old furance with NO MESS left behind for us.

+ -1 moreNot too well. The phone conversation left me with a feeling that they did not want to be bothered. Kinda glad this guy did not call me back because I was not feeling overly confident that with such an indifferent atitute out fo the gate I would want them in my home.
Description of Work: Needed small bathroom repair work done so called to schedule a time for them to come over and give estimate? Left message and they called back in reasonably amount of time. Explained what I needed and if someone could come over for quote. Did not want to come over and gave me a rough estimate over the phone that was substantially less than the other two quotes I received from plumbers who actually did visit. I did have one part of the job that involved some carpentry which he said would be done by their crew and gave me a ballpark figure on that. Finally he said (Dave I think was the fellow’s name) would check with his boss about the job and call me back with more information. Never heard from them again and it was almost like my job was more of a nuisance than anything. Fine with me if you don't want the job, but say so up front and I'll look elsewhere. And with his price being so much lower I felt, unlike the others, he was pulling the number out of thin air and if they did the job I would wind up with a much higher final bill.

+ 0 moreThey did a really good job with the electrical work and plumbing. If you are hiring them, then hire them for the electrical and plumbing only. They were very efficient and very professional. They did a very good job and cleaned up after wards. It was basically fairly successful. Their price was competitive.

water heater repair
+ -1 moreThey replaced my water heater. The heater is working well now but it took about six visits for them to figure out why the heater was shutting down and leaving us with only cold water. It took them a month after the heater was installed to sort this out. They made about six visits before things were corrected. Their office is only 5 miles away and each response to my complaints about cold water was treated with unfriendliness and suspicion.

+ -1 moreI had an energy audit done (by another company) and they stressed the need for good ventilation in a tight house. The three items above were not vented properly and they recommended the changes and suggested a few electricians. I got three estimates and Peter Liscomb of Bob Miles and Son gave me by far the lowest estimate. He arrived on time both for the estimate and also when he came to do the work. He brought three guys from the company's carpentry division since much of the work was more carpentry than electrical. I think this is why he was able to give me a good price -- carpenters are cheaper than electricians. Everything went fine. They were very polite and professional.
Description of Work: Replaced two bathroom ceiling vent fans and changed the way they were vented. Vented over-range microwave through roof.
