Signature Roofing by Peter Quimby

I contacted Peter Quimby's Signature Roofing with a contract to install a brand new standing seem metal roof on the brand new construction of my home. First, they were late in getting around to doing my job...secondly, it was very obvious that they were in a huge rush to get this job done too quickly. As a result, my standing seem metal roof is very wavy and looks buckled across 90% of the job. Less than a month after they completed their work, the corners of the roof began to lift up...from ICE and snow...and the sheathing underneath was fully exposed to the weather. I contacted Peter Quimby and he came back to fix those area's. Approximately 2 years later, the same issue has arisen all over again, and there is sheathing exposed to the weather, and the roof is leaking from ice and snow melt. I have been trying to contact Peter Quimby's Signature roofing for the last year or more....and I have always gotten just his voicemail message. I have left countless numbers of messages on his voicemail, but he has never returned any of my messages... I have had another professional roofer examine the roof and they told me that you can see it was done in a big rush, and that the job was done incorrectly on several levels. I was told that the buckles and waviness was done as a result of being in a big rush to crimp the metal in their machine and should NEVER have been an acceptable job. To date, Peter Quimby and his Signature Roofing company has never returned any of my phone calls....however, there is just a voicemail on his phone contact. Unfortunately, the entire roof needs to be removed and replaced correctly... this ended up being a $16,000 Roofing job that looks terrible and is leaking in places on the corners...because the metal roof has lifted up off the roof. I have, today, contacted Signature Roofing one last time...and left a voicemail...explaining to him that if he does not contact me, I will have no choice but to turn it all over to my Attorney in Farmington. Maine. I am sure that he is not going to want to hear that that roof needs to be removed and replaced correctly....which is the reason he is avoiding contact with me. I will have no choice but to sue Signature Roofing for the cost of having this job done correctly by someone else.

I had interviewed a half dozen local service providers before considering PETER QUIMBY including the local Amish in Unity Maine. Even the Amish proposal was more than Signature Roofing. I found out about PETER QUIMBY from my neighbor who had also had a STANDING SEAM METAL ROOF installed on her trailer including 2 sky lights. _________________________________________________________________ Approximately 3 weeks before the actual work was performed he showed up to take measurements and explain the scope of work and discuss specific details about the application. Approximately 2 weeks before he came by with a detailed contract documenting the discussion we had. The contract was very clear and specific. We agreed I would pay 46% up front for materials and the balance upon the completion of work. He arrived on the date and time promised. He brought a crew of a half dozen fellows who immediately started preparing the roof, installing strapping, and setting up sheet metal equipment. The whole project was completed in one day including cleanup. It actually took about 8 hours. The warranty arrived from the manufacturer within a week later. This was one of the best contractor experiences I've ever had. PLEASE BE AWARE THERE IS MORE THAN ONE BUSINESS IN MAINE CALLED SIGNATURE ROOFING. MAKE SURE YOU GET PETER QUIMBY IN FARMINGTON, MAINE
