My experience with Dan "The Handyman" Tucci was a disaster. Dan Tucci proved himself totally incapable of doing anything right. He tore out the existing tub, sink and toilet and left the debris uncovered in my front yard for nearly three weeks. He left the workspace a mess every time he left and tracked dirt and debris throughout the house. He was highly unreliable, hired unskilled workers and was never prepared with the proper tools even when he did show up. I ended up re-doing most of few things he attempted to do, and finishing most of the work myself after he collected most of the contract amount (my biggest mistake!) and stopped returning my calls. I ended up putting in the floor, sink and toilet myself and doing the painting myself. My advice is to stay away from this guy.
Description of Work: I contracted with Dan Tucci to remodel my bathroom. Scope of work included removal of existing tub, sink and toilet, installing new flooring, new sink, new tub and new toilet. Work involved sheet rock work, plumbing, some minor electrical work and finish painting.

a nightmare experience. didn't know what he was doing. had to have everything he did done over. did not show up on time, or even the day appointed. Had to call him repeatedly. kicked in the garage door so I needed a new one. Said he saw a "pinhole" in my oil tank so he installed a new one. oil company tried to deliver oil and couldn't because he had forgotten to install a gauge on top. This is only a partial list.
Description of Work: . I would have submitted this report earlier but I just joined Angie's list. Plumbing, carpentry, garage door installation and much more. This man was here many times.

This was a terrible experience. Dan Tucci (aka The Handyman) has neither the tools, techniques, experience or anything else to be considered competent. I had to redo just about everything. He destroyed a suspended ceiling while adding ductwork and would not fix it without payment. All the tile he put down came up. The door was mis-hung. Every switch box he put in had to be replaced because he crushed the drywall around the tabs that hold it in. The finish work was dreadful. I had to finish the trim and molding. He used plywood to make shelves and doors that looked awful. I had to add maple edging and facing to make them look good. He did not show up when he was supposed to and never called. He hired homeless people and unqualified people to work. He lied about the cost of having his brother who is a certified HVAC technician do the work and charged me double what his brother would have charged me. I know because his brother called me disavowing any responsibility for the work. I regret dealing with Dan Tucci and would recommend you avoid any dealings with him. He did not listen to what I wanted and always misunderstood directions. He was rude, aggressive and abrasive going as far as yelling at me in my own home when I asked one of his workers a question. In short avoid Dan Tucci at all costs.

He was a nightmare. He is so bad that I would be afraid of him coming back. For the cellar door, he put in a really inexpensive one that didn?t fit in the hole. He put in a smaller size door and water comes in under the bottom. He was supposed to cut out the rot on the 2x4s but he didn?t and he just put in a door that didn?t fit. My deck gets lifted in the winter so he was supposed to come in with an auger and go down four or five feet. He came with a posthole digger, a small tube, and a bag of cement. After he left, I went outside and all of the clay that he dug out was all over the place. He was supposed to put in footings but he didn?t and he put them right beside my old ones. My deck rose up again this winter so I have to call someone who is reputable to fix it. He doesn?t like gay people or abortions and he lets you know. We could probably go to small claims court but it wouldn?t be worth is because I just don?t want to be near him again. He is just hiring kids off of the street and standing there directing them to tell them what to do. We had to keep calling him back to get him to come. He said he would be here the following week but it was six weeks or two months later that we finally saw him. We gave him a deposit so we weren?t happy when he didn?t come back but we were really afraid we would lose our deposit. Now I?m thinking the deposit would have been nice for him not to touch my house. I learned a lesson about using handymen and I just want to wash my hands of him. He has a nice ad that he runs all of the time and it makes me cringe.
Description of Work: I had a leak in my bedroom in the skylight and The Handyman was supposed to fix it with a kit but instead he caulked it or something. He was also supposed to fix my deck and replace my cellar door.
