SOLID DECISIONS INC

Much of this report is written with the benefit of hindsight. We decided to get a second inspection (post purchase) due to lack of confidence in the quality of this one. The two were similar in cost but the inspection by Solid Decisions was far inferior. Jeff did our inspection and was clearly very knowledgeable about home construction, but I did not feel he performed the inspection with as much detail as he should have. The inspection took about 1.25 hours, compared with 3 hours for our second one. Many items noted on our second inspection were not mentioned. One example of the difference... Jeff had a non-contact voltage sensor which he used to test a few random outlets. Our second inspector tested pretty much every outlet in the house with an outlet tester, and found many issues. My primary issue was with the written report. He provided a few bullet points as his "report" which he charged extra for. Our second inspection had the report included and it was many pages long, covering every single aspect of the house. Upon receiving it, I had originally asked if we'd be receiving a more detailed report, but my email and voicemail were never returned. Due to lack of time, we had to move on.
