Maine Bathroom Remodeling

Although it took longer that expected, everything was on budget and I am absolutely delighted with their work.

We had two baths remodeled. At the end of each day, the cleaning and straightening up was very good. Eric kept us up to date on what the next day or two plans would be. Bath 1 was a complete tear out and replace, bath two we replaced the tub with a show and added to the closet where the original shower had been. Eric furnishes labor and you furnish the "pretty" items like fixtures, tile, towel holders. They used top of the line materials. We did ask for a couple of things, not in the original estimate and ran into a major wiring issue in the 2nd bath redo. We negotiated a price change that day, very fair, and moved on. The wiring was run midway down a wall instead of in the attic or near the ceiling. Caused some major rerouting, we didn't know so it was an understandable cost increase. Eric is an extremely fair person to deal with, he wants the job done right.

Could not be happier with the work Erik and Danny performed at my home. Both of these guys displayed true "pride of craft" and the quality of their work backs up this claim. I would not hesitate to use them again on future projects.

Like the other three jobs we have had Erik and his crew do, it went very well. We have a second house on the property. It is considered a pool house. We had the bathroom redone, had them add a door from the pool into the bathroom. They tore it out, put it back together with a terra-cotta tile. This job included the laundry room adjacent to the bathroom and the small covered patio that leads to the pool. Great job looked wonderful as expected. Great guys.

I read all the glowing Angie's list reviews on Sweets and decided to call Eric to get new ceramic tile in our bathroom, mud room and laundry area. I got his voice mail and left a detailed message. He never called back so after a week or more I tried again, this time he answered. He claimed he never received my first message, but now I doubt it. Anyway I explained to him what I needed done and where I was located which is about a 45 minute drive from the town he lives in. He said no problem I’ll be there first thing Monday morning. Well come Monday he didn't show, so at 11:00 I called him. He had some excuse about a plumbing problem but he would still be here around 1:30 or 2:00. But when the time came again, another no show. I called him again and it was more of the same excuse. I tell him OK just call me when you get free and we can reschedule. I waited over 2 weeks and still no call back. So all because of his glowing reviews I call him again and leave a message. This time I get a call back in 3 days, LOL. He said he reviewed his notes from when we talked before and there was no way he could do work at my home because it was too far. Claimed it was over 1.5 hour drive each way. Kind of strange considering we go to Florence all the time and it takes us 45 minutes to get to the main shopping area there. Anyway I got tired of the lame excuses, told him just that and hung up on him. If he didn't want to work in my area he should have told me that from the very first call. Instead I lost a days wages sitting home waiting for the guy when he never intended to come here in the first place. About 30 minutes after our last phone conversation I get a long detailed text message telling me what a jerk I am and that he was going to get me black balled from all the contractors in the area. Says it would be retarded (his words not mine) to drive 3 hours round trip just to look at a job much less do it. But it was OK for him to waste 6 hours of my day!!!

Eric and his team gutted the old tiny bathroom, tore out a wall to increase the space and made me a beautiful new bathroom. They put in insulation, drywall, installed a new window, did the plumbing and electrical, made a great shower stall with tile and a pebble floor. They tiled the rest of the floor, installed the toilet, painted the walls and installed new doors, put up shelves and towel hooks. They have a lot of experience, knew what to do in every situation, made a lot of helpful suggestions and recommendations. Some of the work was difficult because my house was built in the late 40's with lumber from a church that had been blown down in a tornado, nothing is plumb. They were on time, were VERY nice and cleaned up after themselves. They did a good job and I would have them back to do any other work. I highly recommend Sweet Home.

It went fantastic! Our floors were rotted, and our foundations were compromised. It required jacks because the floor joists were sagging. They took out all the old 1950's tile, and put in a new and elegant shower. They put in drywall and new paint. It is gorgeous! All of this was done at a very reasonable price, and with utmost professionalism. They were prompt and dependable- a lot more so than any contractor we have used in the past. We have other projects that need attention in our home, and it will be Eric Denton and Sweet Home Repairs that will be doing the job!! They are fantastic!

Called several contractors for estimate over the course of a year got 8 estimates. Mr Denton was not the cheapest in fact he was more closer to the top. He seem to know more about the process of what work would be done and was able to describe better than any of the other 7 people who came to bid the work. He was also the only installer of Schluter System that was a certified installed trained by Schluter. He and the other man who did the job where very professional, communicated with my wife and I along the two week project. Ran into a few snags but handled every situation very professional. We are very pleased with our new bathroom and will use them again next year with our master bathroom.

I called several remodeling companies before I decided on these guys. They were very quick to respond and within a month they had us right on schedule. They came in removed our old bathroom, advised us of a few troubles and quickly repaired them. The put our bathroom back together in a timely manner and the job was complete. They were always on time and showed up each scheduled day to work. We barely went over our budget. Both men were very professional and pleasant to deal with.

First of all I want to say I called every contractor on angieslist.com that had a decent rating, I just followed down the list one at a time. The first one was to far away and only wanted to use his plastic bathroom stuff which I was unimpressed with. The Second one was so arrogant and uncooperative he only wanted to design it his way and any suggestion I had he made me feel as if I was stupid. After to many days of waiting he finally called me with his excessive price higher than all the others this was with his coupon he offered on here. I don't know how he even has a business. The fourth one wanted to bring in this person and that person to do things he didn't do and his price was very high almost as high as the second one. I called Sweet Home Remodeling and spoke with Mr. Denton he was my third call. Answered right away, came to visit me the following Saturday and explained everything he could do with his crew. He excepted my few ideas and said he could work with me on what I liked. I signed the contract and he got started when he said he would. Him and his mean were here every day and in three weeks the bathroom was complete minus the vanity's and counter tops which took a additional week. Mr denton and one of his men returned to hook up the sinks that afternoon after they were installed. Mr Denton and his crew demolished my old bathroom and closet to the frame. They moved the wall in the bathroom into the huge bedroom, 36 inches to give the bathroom more room. Then used a beam and jacks to level my bedroom and bathroom so there was no more dip in the floor. they installed two layers of plywood on the floor and used a product called Ditra that allowed him to tile on that. The tub was a drop in jet and a sturdy frame was built to secure it and the granite top around it. The shower had a new product called Kirby that was used in it to help water proof the area from cracks, tile went over it as well. The cabinetry work was beautiful and exactly what I envisioned. Glass doors on the shower were installed by Hendrix Glass and what a wonderful job they did.too. The entire experience was great, my next projects I will use him again.

Provider is not trustworthy lied about what he told my husband and have conversation recorded. He was suppose to come for estimate never showed never called told us he would set up a time before he left for Gatlinburg. Obviously he dont need the money now or he would have contacted but money runs out if you do not provide good services and show up word gets around in a small town and thanks to Angies list others can know now through the use of Internet not to contact this provider. If you do get an estimate beware of what he may tell you not trustworthy.

It went very well, Mr Denton has a very professional crew. They showed up totally gutted the entire bathroom in 4 hours. Then cleaned everything up left for the day. The next morning for 8 days and totally transformed our bathroom. Mr Denton made wonderful suggestions to help make the bathroom in to a beautiful place. we would use Mr. Denton again. Thank you again.

I will always hire these guys very professional, work everyday steadily and do a wonderful job! Can't wait until we have some BBQ on the deck.

Erik, Roger and Danny took 7 working days to build our cabinets they were just beautiful when they were done. These mean we're left in our home alone for 3 weeks. Erik had a key to our home and let himself and crew in at will. From hidden security cameras we could watch our home and check the progress. Each of the three men were never anywhere unauthorized in our home ever.

It never got off the ground because he told us it would be a month to get to us and when the time approached he called and said it would be 3 more weeks. We couldn't wait that long because we had a deadline due to a long, planned trip. The electrical job we tried to hire him for was holding EVERYTHING up! Also, he would have made us buy ALL the supplies, which made us uncomfortable, because we aren't electricians and don't know what to buy!

Well, I was referred by lowes tile department to another contractor who never showed up after two missed appointments I gave up on him. While I was in Lowes complaining Erik Denton gave me his card said he would be happy to look at the job and that afternoon he drove down to Hamilton to look at my work. I had a two bathrooms that both had issues and I needed them fixed. Erik remodeled the smaller bathroom and he did such a good job I left him remodel my other one as well. While Erik and his crew were here I was getting TVA to inspect my home on a energy saving program. I then found out Erik also was a TVA contractor and he could install new windows and doors. Which he did and I will get back $500 dollars for my windows and $400 for my doors. Mr Denton is a nice man and wonderful contractor, his crew is just a delight and very professional.

They did a very good job. They cleaned up after themselves, were great and professional. Overall, I am grading them an A. I am also going to use them in the future.

I am a 88 years old widowed woman. I live on a very limited income of social security and a small pension my husband left when he died in March 2013. In May 2013 my hot water tank wouldn't work any longer. I was almost broke due to the funeral cost of burying my husband. I called 6 local plumbers (Crouch Sons Plumbing, Hearn Plumbing Company, Hoyt Lane & Sons Plumbing, Fuller Plumbing, Beck Boys Plumbing and Shoals MPE) hoping one would take the $386,00 that I could afford to pay and replace my hot water tank. Everyone of them gave me a bid of 650 to over a 1000 dollars to replace it. I explained to each one how much I had and why and each one said they just couldn't help me. I went May 2013 thru December 2013 without hot water, I took sponge baths over my sink after I warmed water on my stove. At Church one Sunday I asked someone if they knew anyone that did hot water tank work, and I was given a card of Sweet Home Repairs. I called them and Eric and Rodger came to my home and after I explained my situation they left for Lowes and returned about a hour later with a hot water tank and installed it. I offered to pay them the 700 dollars I had saved to replace it but Mr. Denton and his worker Rodger refused the payment. I insisted and again they refused but said they would except a bowl of spaghetti and meat balls that I was cooking for dinner guest I was having over that night. I gladly paid them. They thank me for lunch and away they left. I have never gotten to truly thank them but they both are wonderful young men. Please hire them they a wonderful company unlike others I mentioned.

I'm the type of person that goes with quality work not just a low price. I was trying to find a person that I could trust in my home as well as give me great quality work. The character of this company did not sit well with me, therefore I didn't feel comfortable with them being in my home.

First I want to tell about the owner Eric Denton, he is like a school teacher, he comes in and totally explains every step of the job as they go. I am a DIY and Home Improvement T.V. watcher. Mr Denton is just as good as any of these Home Improvement guys on T.V.. He is the master teacher. The whole job went so well right from the beginning with just a few bumps. We signed a contract in August and had to wait a few weeks to get them to our job. In mid October they showed up started to work. After ripping out the cracked and broken fiberglass shower they found mold and had to remove it and replace a handful of studs. After installing all our new plumbing fixtures they installed new insulation behind the shower, then concrete board and a shower system to prevent mold, mildew and leaks. After it was installed they installed the tile I have had for 3 years sitting in my basement. Job was complete in 8 working days. Wonderful experience will never call another contractor.

Very well, Mr Denton and Rodger are the dynamic duo. They rebuilt my rotten frame and installed my new back door in less than 2 hours. Now rain wont come in my kitchen.

This is the second time I have called this company. They have responded quickly each time; however, they have been too busy (i.e., booked for months ahead) and could not help me. Also, they did not propose to do what I needed, which was some retiling around a bath tub. Instead, they proposed to redo the entire bathroom. They have a good reputation and I am sure they would have done a good job, but it wasn't what I needed

Twenty years ago our home was built and the bathroom was designed with a fiberglass one piece shower and the tub was a soaker but had no luxury, everything was that "man made" culture marble, plastic look of the 90's. It was just not functional or very attractive. Erik came in gave us lots of different choices and helped us design the bathroom to fit our needs. He was so creative and such a professional and knew what we expected. He helped us chose our colors and which tile and stone would match. He and his small crew worked well together and quickly. Erik and his crew were on our job everyday from start until finish, they worked tirelessly and steady for the three weeks it took to complete. They were always punctual and took care of our home as their own, laying runners over our carpet areas and picking up their mess and vacuuming the traveled areas before they quit each day. We gave a down payment at the beginning of the job and then divided the remaining money owed into 3 other payments paid out each Friday. We were so impressed with his crews honestly, I had dropped a clip of money equaling around 1100 dollars it had tumbled under the foot of my bed and I had no idea where the money had went. Later that afternoon Erik approached me with the money and told me where it was found. I was completely grateful I thought I had lost it at the mall earlier that day and was so relieved to have the money back. We have another bathroom and possibly a kitchen to redo. We will always hire this company for every repair and remodel we have to do.
