First 2 weeks went fine, then crew needed to work half days. Melinda G refuses to give a receipt for time and labor. When we asked the foreman for a receipt, Melinda called us and told us off. We can't get her to come over and fix the steps and deck that are crooked, although she's been paid in full. Photo attached.
Description of Work: porch and steps added to addition, install flooring, wiring, drywall.

Response from All Walks of Carpentry
The 6-7 hour work days throughout the project that the crew worked were consistent with the first 2 weeks, because they live an hour away. I provided the client with invoices/receipts weekly throughout the project, as well as more in depth invoices/receipts twice upon request detailing what my crew did for work to fix work done by a previous contractor that the client fired. The client wrote a check for $2450 for the final invoice (which was $2500), then put a stop payment on the check without warning. After about 3 weeks, the client did end up meeting me with a final check for $2510 to cover the final invoice and bank fees that I incurred. When the client sent me a message the day before my business trip a couple weeks ago, I provided a procedure (e-mail photos and a detailed description of what was going on with their stairs) which he agreed to, but never followed through with. Last week when I got back into town I sent them the following e-mail and have not received a response: "Hi *client*, It's been a couple weeks since I last heard from you so I wanted to touch base to see if you would still like me to take a look at your exterior stairs. The last time we spoke before my business trip, you were going to send me an email with pictures and a detailed description of what's going on so I can come prepared to fix the problem. Please email your description if you would still like work done. Thank you and have a good afternoon, Melinda"

It didn't go. No follow up.
Description of Work: No follow up. Contractor came to our house, we explained the project, and we did not hear back. We contacted the contractor today only to find out that the estimate was never started and they were booked for the next ten months. This negative review could have been avoided if the contractor had the courtesy to reach out to us much sooner to advise us of this fact. Boo! Customer service fail.

While I find it surprising to see a review from someone I have never met, I did meet [Member Name Removed]'s wife [Removed Member Name] however and spoke with her about their laundry room renovation. [Removed Member Name] has yet to email me the photographs and laundry room designs that she has been collecting, so I do not have a final design to give an estimate on at this time. It is correct, however that I am booked out for the next 10 months. That's from the word of mouth referrals and repeat quality clients that I have worked for for the last decade. You can pay for a service to read reviews like these or you are more than welcome to speak with any one of my clients.

Melinda, came out and gave an estimate along with two other prospects. Her presentation was the best and instilled confidence in her abilities. We were not disappointed we negotiated a start date and she arrived when she said she would. She went right to work and took care of the maple railing. Then we went outside to check the railing to the deck. She came up with a great functional design. Her communication skills were great she emailed or called several times with questions or suggestions. All in all it was a very satisfactory experience. No we decided that we needed a new front door, we immediately called Melissa. The only negative thing is that she is so busy that it takes some time to book her but she is worth the wait. I would rate A1 and will hire her for any future projects.
Description of Work: Repaired an inside oak railing. that was very wobbly and now it is solid. Also built railing up to my deck where non existed before.

Downstairs - demo old tile (5 layers of tile and linoleum!) new tile, repairing flood damaged ceiling and walls, install new toilet, put in new baseboard where old one was removed due to flooding, paint walls, ceiling, old radiator and cabinetry. Upstairs - gut old shower, remove old doors, custom built bathroom vanity and cabinet above the toilet, new custom crown molding, repaired ceiling, new ceiling fan/light, all new subway tile including a built in shampoo and soap holding area, new shower doors installed, painted walls, fixed up old radiator rust stains, painted radiator and ceiling. Melinda is so great to work with, I feel as if I didn't cover half of what she did. She is a perfectionist, in the best way. Our bathrooms were a wreck. My house is a 1941 garrison colonial with just 1 and 1/2 baths. The downstairs bathroom had been flooded by horrible disaster in our upstairs bathroom. The walls were buckling around an outlet and the ceiling had completely fallen apart. Melinda made the bathroom look pristine. She is very thorough and pulled up the old floor, where we found a still fairly wet subfloor. She dried it out and installed a beautiful new tile floor. Melinda is very detailed oriented and I am quite picky about my surroundings. Every day she packed up all of her gear and was very conscious of the fact that we were living in the house. The upstairs bath was not in as bad condition, but it now looks like a completely different bathroom. We worked together to design a custom vanity and cabinet, as my house is small and the gigantic pre made ones don't fit. Her carpentry work is 1st rate. She came up with ideas I would not have thought of. We had the cabinet above the toilet go to the ceiling and she put in tasteful and appropriate crown molding to make the cabinet look like it was built with the house. Her paint job was immaculate and again, even though this was our main bathroom in the center of the house, she cleaned everything up every night and unless you opened the bathroom door, you wouldn't have known there was a huge project under way. Aside from Melinda's work, she is a very nice person to have around. I work out of my home, I'm quite private and it was very easy having her there. We missed her so much when she left, we're having her back next year to build a custom garage that will match our house! I can't recommend her highly enough.
Description of Work: Complete renovation of two bathrooms, one of which was extremely damaged due to flooding. Plus extra jobs that came up... new doors leading to basement etc.

Overall we were pleased with the work. She let us do the work (such as the floor) that could and even advised us on the work we we were doing. The only complaint we had was she did not keep us informed as well as she might have of added expenses.

Her name is Melinda Garand. She was on time everyday. She was very professional and did extremely good work. She paid very much attention to detail. She barely took any breaks. However, she went over on her labor charges and took longer than she thought it would to finish the work. It was beyond what we had expected.
Description of Work: We used All Walks of Carpentry to build a set of stairs and to do finished carpentry.
