Hometown Heat Pumps

Refused to service our units because our home-based business is a Medical Cannabis dispensary. (They didn't have a problem taking our almost $10,000 when they installed the units and sold us a 12-year extended warranty!) Last week we set an appointment to have our units cleaned. When the tech arrived, they disconnected the power to units but then turned around and went back to their vehicle. A few minutes later, the owner, Josh, of Hometown Heatpumps called to say the company is refusing to do the service because we are part of the "cannabis" industry. He made multiple excuses from "We installed in a residence.", "The business you said you were building was a canning business, not cannabis." "Our techs and their tools would smell if they serviced cannabis businesses." I explained they were told upfront what we were building when we were renovating. That Hometown Heatpumps had been out to repair a unit when the store was open. He said, "Well some mistakes were made and (he) will address them with his staff" but, he would no longer service or repair the system they installed. That we could find another dealer who repairs that unit via the warranty. I told him that we bought local for local repair. We paid a higher price for both those reasons. I told him we had called multiple heat pump installers before choosing their company for our install and we knew that no one services units that they didn't install. He basically indicated, not his problem. To say I was upset would be an understatement. Whatever their reason for not servicing cannabis, it is not acceptable in this day and age. We are a perfectly legally licensed, local, professional, Medical Cannabis Storefront. If you own a business, consume, or have friends/family that have anything to do with cannabis, AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!
