Big Joe's Electric

So far it's gone really well. The rough in is completely done and now just have the fixtures etc to install.

Our situation was rather unique, and Joe and his assistant were extremely patient and flexible. A project that normally would have involved 3-4 visits has ended up with at least 8 (two of those were paid for as individual service calls -- see below). And we are more than 1/2-hour away from Joe's location. If he couldn't make the appointed time he always called and never left us in the lurch. The house was a complete rehab, gutted to the bare studs. If we'd had a general contractor and everything had been done professionally, Joe's job would have been easier. But we were doing mostly DIY, and in addition the house itself threw us a few curve-balls. So the normal stages of roughing in the wiring, followed by hooking everything up, and concluding with finish work like fixtures and faceplates, instead proceeded in strange half-stages. This was not Joe's fault -- he was intelligent and thoughtful and a quick problem-solver, and even though he might have been justified in revising his original quote upwards, he stuck to it. He is adamant about performing work to code, which gave us a good feeling. He brought additional knowledge about the local area, standards, special needs of remote properties, and always answered noobie questions we had. He advised us on aspects of our water heater purchase, our oven purchase, and on generators, though we didn't do the generator part yet. The project isn't even complete yet, and the work order remains open until we're ready for him to finish the wiring in our upstaris space, which may not be until early spring. But even so, I feel 100% confident recommending Joe. *He also came and did diagnostic and repair work on the camper we were living in while working on the house. He turned out to be quite knowledgable about typical RV power systems and gave us excellent advice and service.

I called Big Joe's Electric and spoke with Joe himself. I gave him an overview of what I needed, he came out and looked at the generator and where we wanted it. He also looked at all the other repair/replace work we needed done. When he was done he gave me a cost estimate and we scheduled the work. On the day we scheduled the work - he arrived exactly on time. Brought all the necessary parts and did the installation and made the repairs I needed. When he was done he cleaned up all evidence that he had ever been there and left. I could not have asked for better service. Thank you!
