Sagadahoc Stove Co

The fireplace insert never worked as it should. The remote control did not function and the pilot light eventually went out. I called the store first to request a repair person be sent to the house. The person who answered said the owner was not in and she would pass along the request. Two weeks later there had been no response. I called several more times and got the owner's voicemail. I left messages which also were never returned. I had to call another stove store to get someone to come out to look at the problem.

I've used Sagadahoc Stove Co. to have my chimney cleaned for the past 4 years. Of all of the businesses I use for periodic maintenance, Sagadahoc Stove Co. is the company I dread contacting the most. If they didn't do a decent job, I wouldn't be a repeat customer. But interacting with them borders on painful. Every year I have to chase them down. They always ask for my number, jump off the phone with me, and never call me back. It usually take 4 or 5 calls over the course of a few weeks to actually get them to commit to do anything. Work order requests go missing. Names and phone numbers are lost. And they can never seem to be able to schedule work at any given point in time. Customer service is consistently poor. It's frustrating. Once they've scheduled you, however, they do show up. And they've always done good work. Prices are comparable to other places. I don't really have any complaints apart from customer service. It's a shame. The work is good. The guy who does the chimney cleaning is a super nice. But I think next year I'm going to hire someone new. If you're not patient, move on.
