Perfect. They showed up when scheduled. The father/son team of Dean and Dean were phenomenal! Extremely professional. They scheduled two days to pack and load. We had cleaners coming immediately following the last box, and they were out on time. The delivery took place months later, and again, the delivery team was courteous and professional. There were a few nicks and bings, but nothing serious, and nothing was lost.
Description of Work: We moved from Hershey ,PA to Durham, ME. We had to move out of Hershey before we had a place in ME, so storage was involved. Bisson was hired through the company (transfer) to pack, load, store, and deliver.

Very Badly. The quoted price was accurate but the contract is deceptive, possibly fraudulent, and the service appalling. We had Bisson crews in the house for two days for packing. The first day appeared to go well but the crew changed for the second day and this second crew were rude, aggressive, and careless to the point were I came very close to ordering some of them off the property. The storage was OK but did involve us being threatened with legal action for non-payment of a bill which had not been submitted. No apology was offered just an actual invoice and a request for immediate payment. The delivery crew was as bad as that for the second day of packing in terms of rudeness. They were delivering to a brand new house on a cold wet day but absolutely refused to remove wet and muddy shoes when in the house and only put down any protection even on off white carpets when my wife physically bared their way and insisted. A significant number of items, including some high value antiques, were damaged. The contract implies (states actually) that items are covered by insurance. This is not the case, even if you pay for extra cover. All they are covering for is for possible repair or an assessed value - not replacement - and that only if the damage is noted by the crew at the time of delivery. This means that you should not let the crew leave your premises until every box is unpacked and every item's condition thoroughly checked. Good luck with that. You also need to be aware that there will be a coded assessment of the condition of the items on the shipping inventory. In our case some of this had been filled in after the items left the house and we had signed off. The assessments given are wildly inaccurate, to the company's advantage. For example a brand new leather suite was described as scratched, worn and soiled! As a final problem, even though they acknowledged some of the damage, the claim process has now been running for two months and is still not settled. Phone calls and e-mails go unanswered to the extent that the only way to get anything moving was to drive to the Brunswick offices and confront them face to face. The only company that I have ever dealt with that has got close to being as bad is Fairpoint Communications! .Do not contemplate using this outfit

They agents that first came out and went to the house with us and everything. We were happy with them. We were comfortable with them and moving some stuff were good. They did a good job. We had used them in the past a long time ago. We had a couple of things that we have issues with them, but nothing major. They are competitive, but they are not that cheap.

One of the funny things that happened was that I was still trying to pack up the office while the movers were moving other rooms. The truck driver/foreman realized I was in a little trouble and would eventually slow everyone down, so he assigned one of the young mover guys to me (and I think told him discreetly to just pile everything into boxes). This really helped me a lot to get the room packed up. The first day of the move it rained, and the movers took great care to cover furniture (including antiques) so that nothing got wet. Bisson took a lot of the stress out of a very stressful move. We are glad we chose them!!!!
Description of Work: I highly recommend this company. From start to finish, EVERYONE in the company was professional, courteous and honest. We interviewed 3 long distance companies besides Bisson before deciding to use Bisson's services. We moved from Maine to South Texas. This was a very complicated move -- late fall in Maine (weather issues) -- 2 cocker spaniels -- piano -- heavy woodshop equipment -- full house of furniture -- antiques -- 3 floors -- narrow driveway -- invalid elderly mom to move. The moving estimate was right on target. Everything was accounted for and there were no surprises in the cost. We had a lot of logistics on how to get down to Texas ourselves and had to have careful coordination with the truck driver/foreman. He went beyond the call of duty in accommodating us. This was the same weekend that Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast, and we were delayed in travel. Everything went well and NOTHING was broken or damaged. Bisson did a phenomenal job and we would definitely recommend them highly.

Bisson moved our household gods from Durham, ME, to Santa Rosa, CA. The packers were very professional and competent. We were told by Keith Koehler, our contact at Bisson, that it would take between 5 and 16 days to deliver. It actually took 21 days. But worse than that was that the truck carrying our household goods broke down twice on the way and nobody at Bisson called us to keep us informed. I left several voice and e-mail messages for Mr. Koehler, but it took him several days to get back to me. I called the main office at Bisson, but nobody there knew what was going on. I was told by one of the secretaries who answered the phone that she would have to check with the dispatcher and have him get back to us. We waited and waited and finally the next day I received a call from the truck driver saying that his truck was broken down in Arizona and that it would be several days before it would be fixed. I didn't hear from Mr. Koehler until very late in the game; I think it might have been not until just before our household goods were delivered or just after. I was very disappointed in the amount of communication between Bisson and us. If I hadn't called them, we may never had heard from them until after the fact. All it would have taken was for someone at Bisson to pick up the phone and call to keep us in the loop. I don't know if they were having a bad few weeks, employees were not trained or whatever. But everybody at Bisson seemed to forget about customer service once our household goods were loaded at our house. I might consider using Bisson again based upon a prior move from Maine to Michigan when I was in the Army and Uncle Sam paid for the move. They did very well then (1988) and that was a major factor in our choice to use them this time. But I don'r know if there will be a next time; $11,000 is a lot of money to spend to have your household goods delivered much later than promised, no communication as to why, with no apology until very late in the process. Overall, it was not a good experience.
Description of Work: Services included packing up all our household goods, loading them onto a truck and transporting them across the country. The packers were very professional, competent and efficient. Everything was packed up in two days, the beds were disassembled, furniture and other large items padded and loaded on their truck. It was then transported to their warehouse, unloaded and then later reloaded onto another truck for cross country transport. In California, it was unloaded and brought into the house. The beds were re-assembled and set up in the bedrooms, and larger furniture put in place. No boxes were unpacked per our contract.

They handled the challenges very well. We appreciated their extra efforts!
Description of Work: Bisson moved us from Wisconsin to Maine. The pickup was great and efficient. Delayed delivery (but not their fault - it was the long-haul carrier who delayed). A very tough delivery to our home with lots of complications - again, not their fault, and they did a great job of coping with it.

They wrapped the fragile stuff. I am very good friends with the person that does the moving sales and I told them that I didn't have time to deal with it, and to make it happen. They did a great job.

They were very prompt and helpful. They would move things to one place and if I didn't like it there then they were very happy to move it to another place. No complaints and no damage, they were great. They had a long day.

It was excellent and very good. They were very flexible because we couldn't tell them to the last minute where my parents were going and they were willing to put up with it. They were also able to do it without a lot of warning and they were able to accommodate us quickly and I think most people when they move they know ahead of time where they are moving. They were able to give us a move within a week's notice. It was a small load not sure if that helps but I think they did a really nice job. The cost was reasonable.

I never got a confirmation call, so I had to call their office after 9 a.m. on the day of the move to see if they were even going to show up. When they did, I tried to explain that our family heirloom antiques had to have special care or they would break, ESPECIALLY the walnut S-curve roll-top desk top. The crew chief (literally!) waved me off, saying under his breath, "I have pads." Although the movers themselves were relatively friendly, this guy was surly and rude. At first, when it was lying in pieces and I sent them home because they were already a few hundred dollars over estimate, the desk looked fine, and I thought maybe I had been silly to think my desk needed more care than they thought. When I was able to put it together, though, I found that the entire side was cracked almost completely in half, which would NOT have happened if they had shrink-wrapped it the way I had asked when he was ignoring me. Since their only options are to sell you some prepackaged insurance or waive all rights to sue them, there's no way to make them care about your things. When it's something you can't replace, you're just out of luck, because it couldn't possibly matter less to these people. DO NOT HIRE these people if you have any special concerns about anything you own.
Description of Work: Mine is the B grade report below. Angie's List called me for a report while we were still surrounded by boxes and asked me about a whole series of service providers. I tried to answer as best I could, but we hadn't seen enough to grade them fairly. Now I have discovered what really happened.

Description of Work: Moving big furniture and lots of boxes. They padded everything and made no damage going up and down 3 flights of stairs. They worked fast. This was much better than my last move with another company from Saco.

The rates were really good as they gave us a ten percent discount because we provided our own boxes. I was also able to use my AAA with them. I had used them before so I already knew how good their service was. I would definitely recommend them.
Description of Work: Bisson transferred our things from our home that was only 3/4 of a mile away from where we were moving to. They packed and wrapped about 10 rooms of furniture and then unloaded it all at our new home. It took two days to transport everything and nothing was damaged.
