Work was not actually done, because we hired a different contractor with whom we had worked with before. However, St. Nick's was very professional and provided a good and thorough estimate. We would have hired them, had we been unable to engage the other contractor.

It took awhile to get an appointment. But he did keep in touch. Finally we were able to agree on a date. His workers arrived promptly and did a very good job. They gave us an evaluation on our chimney and the condition. Also told us how often we should clean it. Workers were very friendly.

We were told by a furnace cleaner that we needed a new flute. Knowing this was expensive, we held off and saved some money for it first. When St. Nick's arrived, they told us that the flute was fine and we just needed a cleaning! He cleaned our chimney and noticed a couple items that need fixing, such as a lose brick on the top of the chimney. He just fixed it without any charge and went above and beyond to help us! We highly recommend this company!

He's very good at what he does and he does a great job. He's trustworthy and a very down to earth person.

They were very prompt. Did an excellent, very thorough review. They gave us great feedback about the current setup and upgrades needed. They were very skilled in their trade and not the type to hype up the details to gain more sales. Just gave us facts and great service. Will definately use them again.

Never bothered to return my call. His message stated calls are returned after 5pm. That's fine, I just assumed it would be after 5 within a day or two not some day or some month or some year after 5pm. Its been over 2 weeks. I'm all set now found another guy not on Angies List.

I called St. Nick's early on a Monday and luckily they had a service opening. They had a man on site that morning and by Noon he was finished including a thorough vacuuming of the entire fireplace insert and surrounding hearth. Left the place spotless.

I have been very happy with the man who came out. I was very pleased with what he did. His price was reasonable. He was very responsive and a great person to deal with. We have gotten other estimates that were as high as $4,000. If I need any type of chimney repair, I would not hesitate to go back to them.

We have agreed on a contract, but they have not done the service, because they will be coming out in the spring, because that will be a better time to do it. The concrete is falling out and they will be putting a chemical plastic in it. He has a good handle on his profession. He did not rush me into business and he had no problem putting it off until the spring. The presentation was made honestly I think. The price is fair. I would definitely recommend them. I have faith in him and I believe that he will be as good as he says. He came out the next day. I will use him.

St Nick came at the appointed time, was very clean in his process and then climbed a very high peak to screen the top of the chimney (which no one else would commit to doing.) His price was very reasonable and his work was very thorough.

i had been interested in installing a wood stove in the basement of our house. i spoke with one chimney sweep (zandy) about the potential and he quoted me $4200 for the installation of a liner in the chimney that was previously used by the oil boiler that had since been removed. this seemed very high and so i called st nick. he called me back promptly and gave me a 'guesstimate' over the phone of $1,100 for the liner. upon coming out to the house we walked through options and it was a pleasant experience overall - the best part was that he understood that we weren't exactly sure how effective the stove would be for reducing heating bills. stan came up with a great cost effective solution and sold me a stove he had at his place, installed it (with a little help getting it in the truck and out) and i was ready to burn wood in just a little more than 24 hours after i called him. it was wonderful, i definitely feel like i got a visit from old st nick and he left me a present that i really wanted for a price that made it a no-brainer!

My furnace maintenance company told me that there was soot from a backup from my chimney so he recommended St. Nick’s. He arrived on time for both the quote and the work. He quoted me a price and stuck to that price. He did a great job with the work. I haven’t had any problems with the furnace since so I know it was done well. He was just great to work with.

They basically took the chimney off and inspected the entire thing inside and out. They cleaned and examined the stove itself. Then he came back and took the door! That's it! I will certainly use them again. Stan gave me the name of a gentleman who will plow my driveway when it snows too.
