Over the weekend, I noticed water damage in the ceiling of a little-used guest bedroom on the top floor of my cape. Called and emailed around to half a dozen different providers, Ruck Roofing responded within moments to my email and sent someone out within 6 hours to take a look. The assessment was pretty thorough -- he even went up into my crawlspace and checked for water infiltration, etc. up there -- and he explained to me that I probably had had an ice dam earlier, but it had apparently melted and everything in the crawlspace had dried out as it should. He did recommend additional insulation in the crawlspace, which makes great sense. He walked around the perimeter outside just to make sure no other dangerous ice was present, and came back in to assure me that things looked good -- after hearing all the horror stories about ice dams here in the Northeast this winter, I'm very relieved to learn that what I feared would be a several-thousand-dollar job can be resolved with just a few dollars in drywall and paint. After all of that, and about a half-hour of being here, I offered to pay for the work and advice and was turned down! Truly commendable service. I'll definitely keep Ruck Roofing and Siding in mind next time any roofing concerns arise!

Three guys came about 48 h after I made the request. They gave a cost of $1400 to do the job. They worked on my roof for 4 h straight. They did not use steam. They said they used salt and clearly lots of brute force. You may not want to be at you house during this service. They cleared all my access ways of snow and ice before they left.

Was a complicated job that requires approx 2 extra days to complete due to removal of White Cedar shingles originally on roof. Ruck Roofing waited for the ideal weather pattern to ensure job could be completed with minimal risk of exposure to weather. Once we got the right stretch of weather forecast, Ruck's crew worked efficiently and professionally to complete the job. They were very courteous and made sure to ask instead of assuming regarding start times in the morning etc. There were some custom features such as a barrel dormer that required a very experienced touch to execute a quality job and they did it very well.

I think they did a great job. He came right after we called him and they gave us an estimate right then. There was a 10% coupon for either a senior citizen or Angie's List. The rain held things up a little bit but he came and did the job in two days and cleaned things up and I was very impressed. It looks great. I got them because of recommendations on Angie's List. He seemed like the most reasonable and most professional.

Overall job went great. Given our house size (2 story Cape Cod style with 2-car garage and adjoining breezeway, the job was split into two days - main house one day, garage and breezeway the next day. Crews and supplies were very punctual starting day 1 around 8:00am and day 2 around 7:30am. A crew of 5-7 were on site for the two days. Owner Bill Ruck initially supervised material delivery and got things moving the morning of day 1 and returned for final review and clean-up on day 2. He remained availabel via phone call if needed, which was not the case. His crew worked well together knowing exactly what needed to be done and literally worked their tails off for two days, barely taking breaks other than for hydration and lunch. They worked hard and produced an outstanding result for which my family and I are very pleased (and thankful). I strongly recommend Ruck Roofing. I did not include the price but felt it was competitive and fair for the quality of materials used and installation labor. Additionally, a full warranty from GAF and Ruck Roofing was provided.
Description of Work: Ruck Roofing provided a full tear-down or my 20+ year old shingled roof and completely replaced the roof with new materials including GAF architectural shingles, new drip edging, water proofing ice and water barrier, underlayment membrane, ridge vent capping and shingles, new pipe boots, and totally cleaned-up after all work was completed.

Although it took a little longer than we had hoped to get the job done, we are very happy with the results. The roof has been tested by wind driven rain several times and so far no leak!
Description of Work: We had a roof leak near where a skylight and exhaust fan outlet were located. Previously, on two different occasions, we had other contractors try to patch the area but the roof leak continued. Bill Ruck recommended the right course of action - to relocate the exhaust fan outlet and completely re-roof the area.

From the time they gave me an estimate to finishing the job things went well. Bill Ruck gave me an estimate shortly after I called him. After deciding to go with him, based on price and other reviews, he brought samples of shingles. I selected one of them, he then gave me an estimate of when the job would be started. He said it should take about two days. Once it was started, (the week he said it would), it took four days to complete. He hadn't anticipated three old layers of shingles, only two. The crew did an excellent job, worked long hours and even on the weekend to get it completed. The day after it was complete it rained. There was a small leak around the chimney but he came back the next day and fixed it. They dumped buckets of water around the chimney to check on the repair. The repair appeared to have done the trick, there were no more leaks. I would certainly recommend them to anyone needing roof work.

We used ruck roofing for a rental home we own. The roof was leaking, we did not realize for several weeks. We contacted several companies, but Ruck was both the least expensive and the fastest to respond. The roof was replaced in a single day, less than 2 weeks after our initial contact (it would have been done sooner, but the weather was not cooperating). Great overall experience, would hire again and recommend to a friend!

We have a lot of winds in Kennebunk so wind got under and ripped the top of the roof and it leaked and I called them as they had done my neighbor’s house. They looked at my roof and the following week they ripped off and put a new one and I was pleased with their work. They matched the shingles on my porch which I had done a year ago. They are very pleasant people and their price was reasonable. They charged me the price that they quoted. They were here on a Saturday and they did the whole job plus the chimney and porch roof as it was leaking. I would have them do another roof if I have to do one. I would recommend them because they do what they say they are going to do.

I placed a call to Ruck Roofing and he answered right away and said he would come out and give me an estimate. He then emailed me a copy of the estimate on the same day. We were not able to be home on the day he came to look at our roof so I called and asked him to come back another evening to meet him. Bill was more than willing to do that for us. During the meeting Bill asked how soon we wanted the work completed. We told him within the month and he made that happen. Bill contacted me a couple of days prior to coming and out to start the work. Not only did he complete the job in one day but they were able to also go around and make sure they did not leave behind any roofing mess or nails. We were so very pleased with the work as well as how professional the crew was. Our neighbors were so amazed at how fast the job was completed.

We had the trees trimmed and the arborist recommended his cousin to us as a roofer. Bill Ruck came on a Saturday morning to give us an estimate, and was extremely professional, got up on the roof at the time and inspected the vents and the fascia, and wrote up an estimate that specified the vents, underlayments, the type of shingles, edging, and including the cost for stripping the roof and hauling away the debris. We agreed upon the price, which was excellent when compared to the estimate from an online roofing calculator and that of an itinerant roofer who had given us an off-the-cuff estimate (that we had no intent of taking!) and set a tentative date of about 10 days later. Bill called at the beginning of the week when he anticipated that the weather would warm up enough to be able to do the work, but at the time he had planned to begin the project, it was still too cold, so the plans were set back by another few days. During that period, we saw Ruck Roofing's trucks, men and equipment working on two motels near our house, and on Wednesday of the next week Bill called to say that they would be at our house the next morning. I asked them to wait until after about 8:30, to let the garbage men get in and out, and they showed up at 9 AM on the dot. There were five guys, their equipment was all very good quality, they tarped the house very neatly, and their process was very efficient. Our house has three different roof-levels, and they worked from the top down, removing the shingles, cleaning the area and making sure that everything was in good shape to re-shingle. They were extremely fast in laying the underlayment and the new shingles, and the clean-up continued as they worked. In the first day they had completed the highest section of roof, as well as one side of the garage, and at the end of the day all the guys went around chasing the pieces of tar paper and old shingles that had blown into the woods on the extremely windy day. The next day they finished the job in a remarkably quick time, continuing the efficient pick up of scraps, including the many cellophane strips that came off the old shingles and had blown into the trees. They used a magnet to gather up the nails that were all over the ground, picking them out of the planting beds, and raking the area to get everything. The final touch was when two of the guys went down into the woods to remove a long piece of plastic from where it was wrapped around a tree. The house looks great now, and we were extremely satisfied with the materials and the workmanship. They could not have done a better or quicker job, and the professionalism of the entire crew was admirable. Ruck Roofing was a pleasure to have working on our house.
Description of Work: We needed to have the roof on the north side of our house and on the big attached garage replaced as it was covered with mold from the big trees that had shaded it for 20 years. There were never any leaks, but there was no question that it needed to be replaced. The south side of the house had been reroofed about a year ago, but the previous owners had not been able to afford to replace the whole roof. The trees had scraped some of the granules off the old shingles and we had to have the trees seriously trimmed before the roof was replaced. The shingles are GAF brand 30-year architectural shingles, with an ice barrier and a 6-foot ice and water barrier, and we have a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. .

They gave good service. They were very efficient. They stripped the roof down and took away all the trash. The next day they had the front half done. They did the second half the next day. There was additional material on the back half. I didn't know it and neither did they. They had to strip an additional layer of shingles of the roof and dispose. There was no additional charge for this.
