We connected with Curb Appeal Creations when a neighbor hired Paul Gaudet to seal her driveway. While it took an entire day, it looked nice and they did a good job. I hired Paul to power wash our deck and foundation. He seemed incredibly friendly and kept telling us he wanted to do a good job, anything we wanted. The struggles started immediately when Paul didn't show up when he said he'd be there. I kept having to text to confirm if he was coming each time he was supposed to work. When he started power washing the deck paint chipped off. My husband and I talked about striping and restaining the deck so we talked to Paul about this service. He assured us it would be no problem. During this time he was also sealing the driveway of a second neighbor. This took more than a day and I was concerned with the quality of the work. We ran into the most difficulty when Paul wasn't able to strip the stain off our deck. At that time he told me he was learning deck work as he'd only ever done his father's deck. They tried stain remover and paint remover. Again, I never knew when he was coming, he continually mentioned he just wanted to do a good job for us. I also asked him to remove a tree that had fallen. He was constantly offering new services while he worked. He took the tree down and never removed the tree. We paid Paul for the power wash - which he never finished on the deck or the foundation. We paid Paul for supplies he bought to remove the stain on our deck. We trusted that he would do the work he was saying he could and would do. He simply didn't do the work, took our money, and ultimately blamed us for all the problems. I said I was flexible because we were constantly having problems. Somehow he took that to mean he didn't have to show up when he said he would, he took that to mean he could be unprofessional, sloppy, and didn't do what he committed to. My husband finally fired him because it was such a frustrating experience. He sent nasty emails and told me 'You don't know who you are dealing with if you expect a refund'. I don't recommend this contractor because he is unreliable, unprofessional, didn't complete work for us, didn't know how to do what he said he did and ended up blaming us for everything that went on after he took our $200.00. We tried to file a complaint with Better Business Bureau and he wasn't registered with them.
