Harley Plumbing And Heating Plus

Plumbing job went well. Used for heating over a few years. Always had the same problem that they 'fixed'. This year after coming out 4 times in 2 months for the same problem and charging ever time. We called someone else who abruptly fixed the problem. One issue was harley's failed to turn a knob back to on which caused a leak that they said did not know where coming from. Have not had any troubles since using new company.

We bought a house built in 1978 with the original oil fired heating system including several thermostats. When it came time to turn on the system in the fall it failed to work properly with the rooms alternately too hot or too cold and we replaced about half of the thermostats hoping to fix the problem ourselves to no avail. We called Harley Plumbing and Heating Plus and they came promptly and were very personable. Unfortunately, it took three visits and $400 worth of parts for us to realize that these guys may be nice but couldn't think outside of the box to diagnose our problem. They informed us that we needed a whole new system, which of course they carry, and that their repair seemed to be working. Soon after they left the last time, it was clear that nothing had changed. We limped through the coming months sometimes trying to sleep in 90 degree heat with the windows open and sometimes freezing when the heat didn't come on at all. We thought we needed a new system that we couldn't afford just yet. In desperation we called another company who came in and diagnosed the problem in minutes and fixed it inexpensively (including an additional problem caused by the first "repaired" valve which the Harley tech never turned back to the "on" position causing it to leak). In short, we now had heat when we wanted it, our original "oldie but goodie" system works just fine and we learned a valuable lesson; If you're looking for any type of diagnosis for heating at least, don't choose Harley!

Did not hire - Cost way out of my league.

Very frustrating. Harley came many times for the same issue and even though something they had done before had failed they still charged us for repairs and never got to the bottom of the issue. They overcharged us and never did get the issue fixed. Using another company now.

inspected the plumbing in the cellar. Then checked toilet and looked outside. He said he thought it might be the vent pipe on roof might be clogged because snow had covered it. He told us we need to go up and check the pipe. He said to call them back if that wasn't the problem. He then charged us the $95 service charge and left. I felt it was his job to do what he wanted us to do. That's why we hired them.

I called at least 3 times and was told someone was going to get back- I even mentioned I had gotten the name through Angie's list- no response

They arrived on time, assessed the problem, provided an estimate, we ok'd it, they fixed the pipe, we paid exactly what they estimated, they cleaned up and left.

We concluded the phone conversation with disappointment - I live 18 miles from their shop and I would have to pay for their housecall - $95. It's tough on a pension. They should know better!

They're prompt. You can call them in the morning and they will be there some time that day. They are courteous, competent, and they do a good job. I think they're probably pricier than some companies, but it's worth it for the efficiency.

He was prompt and I did not have to wait on him. That is all I can say. I thought the cost was a little high, but I got what I paid for. He was very good and he was very professional.

Needed a drain cleaned. Harley came out and assessed the problem. While I now need more work, the problem will be fixed permanently and bring my plumbing to code.

I put the job out to bid, and got 7 bids back from various energy companies and plumbing and heating contractors. Most of the bids from energy companies did not give me what I had asked for (namely the hybrid hot water heat pump for hot water production). Of the 7 bids, Harley's price was the lowest price (another Pand H contractor came in very close). The management of Harley spent more time than other contractors in understanding my thoughts and concerns about the work to be done. In hindsight, this investment of time up-front was a very good idea, as the contractor knew exactly what I wanted. Harley assigned two technicians to this job, and the work was completed in about one week (they didn't come 2 days during the one week span). The management of Harley kept me well informed as to the status of the job, and actively solicited my opinion to how well the work was progressing. The job site was always kept clean, the technicians were friendly and communicative, and high-quality materials were used. Overall, not an inexpensive job, but a high-quality job and a good value for the money. I would use Harley Pand H Plus again.

They were very punctual and worked quickly. They even left me three tools like a useful feature which was nice. It was a little pricy but I had a coupon.

I would tell people that they come right away. They are clean, nice and fast. I don't use anybody else because they always come right away. They always respond so I don't know if anybody else is less expensive. They are punctual.

The estimate cost $75. In view of the high cost, I thought I would be getting a high quality heater. The one installed, however, had only a five year warranty. I cannot fault the workers. They did an excellent installation and cleaned up the work area.

Very professional and promptly, thorough and cleaned up after himself.

The second plummer did fix the toilet but i had to call another plummer to fix the shower. I ended up spending quite a bit more money then i had planned on. I would not call them again or recomend them to anyone that i know.
