Graduate Painting, LLC

I hired Graduate Painting to paint the interior of my Farmingdale house. Not only did they leave window frames and cabinet doors unpainted, they splattered paint all over the kitchen countertop and appliances. Not recommended.

Graduate painting presents themselves as a professional, competent and reputable company. Until they actually have to do the work they promised/contracted. My job was quoted reasonably with a contract of the work to be done and promise to finish it within three months. Five months later the job hadn't been started despite numerous phone calls, emails and text messages asking when it would be started and completed. The excuses and lies started immediately and continued for more than a month until a third party intervened and pushed the owner, Christopher, to get the job started. Once the job was started it took longer than promised, more excuses and lies was all I heard and many items on the contract were not adhered to; No sanding was done, scraping was not complete and the paint job looks like a 5 year old did it, I had to buy materials, and finish cleaning up after them. Christopher then offered to take $150 off the bill for the job being late and my cost of materials. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Worst contracting company I've ever dealt with. Additionally, They have a BBB A+ banner on their website and according to the BBB, "this business is not BBB Accredited"!!!!!! Christopher is a liar, full of excuses and his Graduate Painting business is absolutely terrible!

While looking for a painting service, I found Graduate Painting on the Better Business Bureau. Seeing that they had a high rating, I called and scheduled an estimate with Daniel. I immediately had a sense that this company knew what they were doing, and that they would treat me fairly. The way that Daniel spoke about my project gave me confidence to move forward. I scheduled a job with them that day. They told me that they would be doing my job in the coming months. When the time came for my job to be done, the crew that worked at my house were fantastic. Everyone was polite, knowledgeable, helpful, and meticulous about the work. Because of the wealth of information that the people in this company offered to me, I ended up adding quite a lot more work than I intitially had planned to do, and I was very pleased I did. I became informed about what would be the best value for me, and protect my house in the long term. Through these guys, I learned a lot about protecting my house, including many things I wouldn't have known to consider with most other painters. They constantly helped me understand aspects about the exterior of my home that I never would have even thought to ask about. I appreciate the communication and education I received from them, as well as my entire experience.

The crew accommodated our schedule so they could complete the bulk of the work while we were away (thus protecting our 6 month old from lead paint removal.) The crew was incredibly warm and professional. I felt comfortable with them in my home at all times. (They were in and out frequently and I had no cause to worry.) They put in long, hard hours, and maintained an incredible work ethic. They checked in with us several times to make sure that everything was finished to our exact standards. The final product was absolutely stunning. When an unforeseen circumstance arose - they discovered wood rot - they worked with us from afar to figure out how to resolve it. We definitely got our money's worth and I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

They just finished up today. They were disorganized as far as when they were coming and not coming and the result made the job drag on and on.
