After meeting with Richard and his father, they agreed to repair a shower as well as ceiling damage from a leak. We paid over $2000 for a deposit and they cashed the check immediately. They did not meet the agreed upon date to start the work allegedly at first due to illness. After that they had additional excuses. I requested a refund. That was on February 12. They have continued to say that they will return the deposit. We have received nothing from them. We have had to seek legal action. Strongly strongly recommend seeking services with another contractor with a positive reputation. I’m extremely disappointed with every aspect of this whole process and transaction. Update as of 6-3-24 Update to 4/20/24 Review. I have not received any communication from Tomahawk Flooring/Richard. The $2300 deposit that was given to them has not been refunded and no work was ever completed. I’ve been told multiple times that they “would make this right.” Advise any potential customers to investigate this company and all reports and reviews.

Mixed results - upstairs looks great, downstairs worse than before they started. The job ended up being more difficult than they anticipated, which meant a job that was supposed to take a week ended up taking a month. They did a good job upstairs where the project was more difficult and overall that looks good, but I do still see some foot prints in the varnish. Likely because they were sanding while putting down coats of poly. Downstairs was the room should’ve been the easiest of all them, but I think they spent their time upstairs and didn’t want to spend any longer on the project. I mentioned to them as soon as they put down the first coat of poly that I could still see the original stain on the floor all around the perimeter, they said they would fix it, and repeatedly told me they would fix it. At the end of the project I brought up that this was still visible, and I could see places where they had properly sanded and places where they had not. They tried to gaslight me and tell me, that’s just how the floors are and they are permanently stained. They said they should have changed me more for a more difficult project. In context their bid was already twice the price I have been quoted by different a different company, but I went with them because they told me that they want to do quality work. I brought up my concerns when the project was finished and they kept saying they were going to come back. I moved my furniture in and out of that room over the course of the next several weeks multiple times. they continued to say they would be there the next day for over a month and I have had no contact with them in over a month. They charge me $1600 to complete that room and all you can see when you walk in is the different color of staining. They did honestly do good work upstairs. If I only had them do the upstairs I think I would’ve been satisfied with their work. I had to downgrade it because the room I spend 80% of my time in now looks worse off and cost $1600 to do it. I had to take off another star for dragging this out for a month beyond the end of the project stating that they were going to repair the work when they had no intention of doing that. It should’ve been a red flag to me that they don’t own their own sander and that they have to rent it.

Great job. The crew was at our home within a week. Very professional and knowledgeable. No mess to clean up after the job was done . The floor looks great. Would recommend Tomahawk for a job well done.

Tomahawk Flooring turned a 50 year old pine floor that was in horrible condition, into a very nice looking floor that significantly improves the livability of the house

They did a good job. Called when they were running late. Workers had been smoking before entering our home and left the smoke smell behind. NOTE: They do no take credit cards... caught off guard having to write a check after work was performed as I dont always have that amount on hand.

9:31 < Messages Review for Tomahawk Flooring Awesome experience. We did not have any firsthand knowledge of contractors in the area and decided to go with an "Ang" recommendation. We were planning on having to use multiple contractors to do the jobs that we needed and were surprised and pleased to find that Tomahawk could do it all. *remove old rugs and prepare 2 sets of steps for new flooring. - install wood stairs with landings ~install click floors in 3 rooms and hallway. "repair several pieces of granite floor tiles. ~remove and replace grout from an oversized living space, kitchen, bathrooms, mud room and hallways including counter tops and breakfast bar. ~clean granite tiles that had layers of grime from previous owner. "sand and refinish wood floor and railings in loft. During the early stages of the work, we decided to make some big modifications in what we wanted to have done and Tomahawk just went with the flow. They were able to easily make the changes and come up with alternative ideas. Communication and reliability are crucial when working with contractors and we have to say that Ritchie answered each one of our questions, concerns, and requests no matter what time of day it was. We never felt neglected or worried about lack of communication. The work is being done beautifully with concern for details and it's obvious that Tomahawk takes pride in their finished labors. We have already discussed what the next step in our remodeling projects will be for winter 2023. _

I contacted him 3 times on phone, given promises to fix the mess. No show. Extremely unprofessional, left my antique tile and grout ruined Admitted he used the wrong color Thats what we get for being trusting people and even giving them a down payment. I will not rate below as they are too far off the grid to even rate

We had 2 rooms that had old grout removed and replaced, with some tile repair as well. The crew was efficient and did a great job. Our floors look like new! Great service!

I can’t say enough good things about Tomahawk Flooring. Richard and his father were knowledgeable, skilled, professional and quick to respond whenever I had a question. They installed laminate flooring in seven rooms of our house including two bathrooms and did a great job. The floor looks wonderful. I highly recommend them.

I highly recommend Richard from Tomahawk flooring. I hired them to do carpet installation at a rental property in Westbrook. Lowe’s ended up losing the carpeting I had purchased a few weeks prior and delivered other very inferior carpeting instead. Richard was able to secure new high quality carpeting for me the next day and sold it to me at a fair price. They completed a tricky installation (large odd-shaped room with 2 closets as well as a winding staircase) quickly and professionally. Richard’s team did such a great job on the carpeting that I hired them to replace a vinyl plank floor in my Scarborough home with hardwood. Again, the job was done quickly and professionally, working well into the evening hours so it would be done for me for Easter! I couldn’t be happier with Richard and Tomahawk flooring.
