All quotes and limitations for quotes were well explained. We were completely satisfied and they assisted in cleaning up as they finished the work. We highly recommend the Hearth Doctor!

Description of Work: Nothing except show me how to light stove manually and tell me the igniter was gone. When it wasn't. He only vacuumed the back of stove out and didn't know anything about the stove, back of stove wasn't put back on properly, screws all on the stone platform that stove sits on. Overall very disappointed with service.

 + -1 moreBill (the owner) was on-time, friendly, professional, and a pleasure to have working in the house. He really knew his stuff too. I've had 4 different fuel company technicians in here over the past 2 years trying to fix this problem with various diagnoses and attempts at repair but no success. But Bill knew exactly what was wrong and repaired it instantly as he had parts on his truck. He even returned the incorrect thermocuple to me that a fuel company had placed last year.
Description of Work: Bill restored my non-working Regency gas fireplace to working condition, thermostat and remote controlled, as well as manual. He arranged the embers to look nicer and suggested some brick-face to further enhance the appearance and make it look like new. He will be returning to do that next week.

 + -1 moreI selected a gas stove from a limited selection, and I arranged to have the gas company run gas to the fireplace. The stove installer fell off the ladder to the roof, fortunately not hurting himself. The final installation left exposed, unattractive section under the stove.

 + 0 moreAlso the price on installation was raised by $100 to $600 and I'm still waiting for installation. They are not dependable about when they say they will do something. Let's hope the stove works because I don't want to deal with them any more.

 + -1 moreThe Hearth Doctor did a great job of fixing some other tradesman's sloppy work. After converting the furnace from oil to natural gas, we wanted to also convert a gas fireplace from propane to natural gas. The crew that did the furnace conversion said they could do the fireplace too but all they did was screw it up. The Hearth Doctor was very helpful and got everything working right and also fixed some aspects of the original fireplace installation that was not done correctly. They were very knowledgeable, courteous, and thorough. I recommend them highly.
Description of Work: Fixed a gas fireplace that another company converted from propane to natural gas ... but very badly.
