After countless unsuccessful attempts to get various paving contractors to fix a sinkhole in my asphalt driveway I finally decided to try to hire a contractor who is not a "paving contractor" per se but would have the necessary equipment and expertise to do the job. Saw an ad in local paper for Seth McCoy's Trucking & Excavating which advertised a willingness to do driveway work and said "all jobs considered, none too small". Seth responded immediately to my inquiry and provided a very reasonable estimate within just a couple of days. He said he could do the job the following week and showed up with all the necessary equipment and manpower as promised. All work was completed in a most timely and professional manner. Seth and Ben excavated a large 20' diameter hole that had to be at least 10-12' deep. About a half dozen rotten tree stumps were removed that had been buried there by our original building contractor approximately 32 years ago. We believe these buried stumps were the source of our problem. The excavation was filled and thoroughly compacted. A final but temporary layer of "reclaimed asphalt" (very much the same as gravel) was added and also compacted. We will now wait for approximately a year or more giving it a chance to settle completely before repaving with new "hot" asphalt. Not only does our driveway look great but the work was done for nearly $1000 under the original estimate. Friendly, courteous, and honest service!!
