I had flooding in my basement. After the water restoration company finished their cleanup and drying work, I got some bids to restore the drywall and baseboard and door trim that was cut out, and paint the entire basement. Todd (The Precise Painter) and Bill teamed up for this project where Bill was going to do drywall and trim restoration and Todd was going to do the painting. After receiving 5-6 bids, I picked Todd based on a combination of price and comfort factor. I did not pick the lowest cost bid, but Todd’s price was competitive and he assured me that he was going to paint as many coats as it will take whereas lower bid contractors were proposing to charge extra for a third coat if two coats did not cover properly. I was painting a light color over a dark color, so I may even have picked the lowest bid in the end. Both Todd and Bill did a phenomenal job. They were very pleasant and easy to work with. They did a great job communicating about the progress, timelines, when they expected to be at my home to work, etc. They made extra trips to my home to touch up both trim work and paint to our satisfaction. Painting the ceiling was not included in the scope of work, but Todd went out of his way to get the ceiling paint color matched and touched up the ceiling because there was wall paint on the edges of the ceiling from the previous paint job. He did not charge me extra for that additional work. I am convinced that Todd does not cut any corners once he takes on a job, and he will make sure everything looks right before he delivers it. He even recommended a carpeting firm that I also ended up working with for the carpeting job right after the paint job. We are extremely happy with the way our basement turned out. I wholeheartedly recommend Todd for any paint job to anybody, and I would hire him again for my next painting project with my eyes closed.

Todd and his brother are The Precise Painters. They do all the work themselves and don't use subs. They are also an exceptional find - good human beings who are honest, hardworking and very talented. We found them via a friend who owns a 100 year old house with original plaster walls. Over the years the walls had settled, and there were cracks everywhere. Todd transformed those walls into smooth museum quality surfaces with a perfect paint finish. We thought she had replaced the walls. Our house was a four week project that involved the most of the first floor (Kitchen, Family Room and Hallway), the stairway with a open cathedral ceiling and the the upstairs hallway. Todd treated out home as if it were his own. During the drywall work, we came every evening to a clean, dust-free house. They would spend an hour at the end of the day vacuuming and dusting to make sure no drywall dust was left. With Todd's help we selected a rich yellow color, which required several coats to cut in properly. All trim and edging was done by a steady hand without tape, and is perfect in every way. We can't recommend them highly enough - they are the reason we joined Angies List.
