DWM Roofing

We recently purchased a new house. The insurance company inspector said that he saw a few shingles that needed tacked down and I had found some water damage that looked to be from the roof in a crawl space. I used DWM's online contact form to request an appointment on Friday. On Monday, Jill called to schedule an appointment for Tuesday. Later in the morning, she called and said a technician could come out today to check the roof. The technician showed up when Jill had estimated his arrival, looked at the water damaged area, and checked the roof. He didn't find any issues with the roof, confirmed that the water damage area had been repaired but cautioned we should still check during a heavy storm to make sure the patch still held. He also said that the inspector likely saw shingles being pushed up by gutter guards and recommended that we have the gutters cleaned and the guards removed. There was no charge for the visit. I forgot to ask for some documentation for my insurance company while the technician was here so I called Jill who said she would get the information from the technician and email me something. If the roof does end up leaking in the future, I will definitely call DWM first.

DWM is the epitome of quality customer service. From the moment I contacted them about a leak in my roof, they approached the problem as if I were the only customer they needed to focus on. They arrived at my house within a day of me placing the initial call and inspected my roof. They found a small hole where a roofing nail had been. They placed a temporary patch over the small hole while I awaited the new ridge vent to arrive for installation. DWM scheduled the appointment for the new install quickly thereafter and was able to install the new ridge vent while I was not available to be home. I will definitely recommend DWM to friends and family in the future.

I received 3 estimates for this work. All varied on several dimensions, including price and the elements of work proposed. I found the representative from DWM to explain everything thoroughly, their price was fair for the amount of work. They did not request a deposit with the contract, which was a surprise. It took a couple of weeks for the scheduling process to begin--I actually called them before they called me. But once the work was slated, the communication was very good--which was important as roofing work is weather-driven. Scheduled to arrive at around 8AM, the crew started arriving shortly after 7:00. They spread tarps and began the removal of all of the shingles and old paper. The representative was not on site all of the day, but was involved at several points during the day, making sure the work was done properly. Since the roof was opened for the skylights, it was especially noisy, and necessarily created some debris inside. HOwever, I was instructed to spread sheets or tarps to capture most of this falling material, which worked well. The work was completed to my satisfaction by around 4:00 and they did a really good job of cleaning up all of the debris and colleciting nails in the yard. I got a follow-up phone call to check on my satisfaction.

The guys from DWM Roofing were wonderful. They are very personable and very understanding. Their personalities are very warm. They want to help to resolve the situation.

Dealing with DWM Construction (Roofing) was a pleasure from the initial contact with a very nice woman in the office to receiving the estimate and then the installation of our new attic fan. Everyone was pleasant and professional. The installation went smoothly and quickly. It has since rained very hard, and no leaks have appeared in the attic! I would definitely use this company again.

Fantastic! After their repairs, I felt confident to hire a painter to repair a small stain on the ceiling. We have had no recurring trouble for two months even after many heavy rains.

Today, I had a new roof installed by DWM Roofing, replacing the original 25-year old shingles on my single family home. I left this morning with the old roof, and arrived home this evening with a brand new roof. It was as simple as that. Other than the pristine new roof, there was no evidence anyone was at my house. From beginning to end, the process of buying a new roof was as flawless as could be. To be honest, I have mixed feelings about that -- DWM Roofing provided unmatched service that will be hard or impossible for any other contractor to meet during future remodeling efforts, so I feel like any experience after this will pale in comparison! DWM sets a very high bar. I was able to set up an appointment for an estimate very quickly. David, the owner, visited my house, took some quick measurements, and then spent around 90 minutes providing a wealth of useful info about different roofing options, warranties, the process of installing a roof, what's included, etc. This was a completely pressure-free environment, with no attempt to get me to make a commitment. It was clear he knew his stuff, stood behind his company, and would stand behind the work for years to come. He patiently answered all questions, and even suggested doing a forklift drop of materials at my house to protect my long concrete driveway from the normal heavy delivery truck. He left behind two folders packed full of useful info, including hundreds of local addresses where I could check out their recent work. His price quote was right near where I expected it would be, based on the materials and scope of work. Could I have found a slightly cheaper roofing contractor? No doubt, but the overall process probably wouldn't have been as smooth, and I wouldn't have as much long-term confidence in the work. I spoke with neighbors who had used DWM Roofing, and they shared nothing but accolades; it was clear to me there was no reason to spend time getting other quotes, so after spending a few days to think about color options, I let David know I was ready and he put me on the schedule, about four weeks out. The materials arrived yesterday and were stacked neatly on my driveway, and today at 7 a.m. multiple trucks showed up and a large crew of competent installers set to work. They finished by 3 p.m. or so, leaving no signs they were here except a shiny new roof. (Admittedly, it's hard to get *too* excited about a new roof; it's an expensive home upgrade that does little to "improve" your house other than decreasing the chances of expensive repairs when your old roof wears out! Of course, new shingles can "spruce" up the appearance of your house.) David called me a couple times during the day to provide updates. Once they pulled off the old shingles, they found some minor water damage in parts of the existing plywood, so replaced the bad plywood before installing the new shingles. I went with Certainteed Landmark Landmark Premium shingles, and they look great. DWM orders the Algae-Resistant (AR) version, which is good in the humid Maryland environment. DWM doesn't require any down payment or deposits; payment is only due after the roof is completely installed. Three houses down the street, a neighbor is also having his roof installed this week by another roofing company. It's day three and the roof is still being installed. The other roofing company is doing a fine job, but they only have a small number of crew so it's taking much longer. Thankfully it hasn't rained this week. I feel more comfortable having the job done in a single day, which DWM seems to staff for. I spoke with a neighbor when I got home, and she said it was amazing watching the efficiency of DWM's crew. If you need a new roof and live in their service area, I wholeheartedly recommend DWM Roofing. They're a first class company all the way. The only thing I wish for is that they performed other services (new siding, windows), but their singular focus on roofing is probably what makes them the best. Thanks to David for making the entire process so effortless, and to the installers for doing an excellent and efficient job.

It went great. Dave was on time, very professional, and efficient. I would call them again in a snap for my next roofing related job. They even sent a hand-signed thank you note with the invoice. I haven't experienced that level of customer service in long, long time. I think the total time on site was about an hour.

Prompt response followed by an emailed estimate. Dave was able to schedule this non-emergency repair within two weeks. Everything was accomplished in one visit. We are very satisfied.

Before I hired DWM, I called around and received quotes from number of aggressive salesman. After talking to other people, Peter Miller from DWM was a breath of fresh air. He's a professional down-to-earth nice guy that you want to hire. Immediately, I knew he was giving me a fair quote because I got jerked around by other salesman before I called DWM. Even though Peter is the owner, he was involved with my roof project from start to finish. When he was not around, he had his representative keep me posted and he was always available when I needed to talk to him. In the course of the replacing my roof, they found couple of spots with roof damage and fixed it for $60/plywood. I also requested some cosmetic work that I was holding off on because I needed a ladder and his crew took care of it for me, no questions asked. I'm very satisfied with their work and I've been recommending DWM to all my friends and coworkers who need their roof replaced. Strongly recommend to others as well.

I started noticing some water spots on our ceiling, so I needed to get someone on our roof to troubleshoot. I was pleased with the service from start to finish. They arrived on time and performed a thorough inspection of the roof. They were able to quickly determine that a previous "handyman" had tried to fix some faulty vent collars with some spray rubber, which quickly deteriorated. DWM also discovered someone tried to seal a gap in the gable with some spray foam, rather than place a couple of shingles. They did a great job of explaining what the situation was and what needed to be done. I hope I don't have any more roofing issues in the near future, but if I do, I won't hesitate to call DWM for help.

They arrived on time and completed the job in one day. They explained what they were doing and answered any questions that I had. The only problem was that they didn?t do a good job of was cleaning up the nails from the old roof removal. I picked up about 2 pounds of old nails in the garden and lawn.

I called DWM on a Sunday and on Monday morning spoke with a representative from the company. She made arrangements for someone to come inspect the damage. I was surprised to learn the gentleman who did the inspection turned out to be the owner of the company. He was prompt, professional and very pleasant to deal with. He showed me the photos he took from the roof, suggested a solution that would actually improve the quality of my new vent and provided an estimate that evening. Once approved, the work was completed just a few days later and the owner e-mailed me to confirm completion (as I requested). This experience was great... thank you David!

Water had been dripping in the attic for over a year, whenever there was a large storm. I had caulked the nails on the ridge vent, but this didn't seem to stop it for long. From Angie's list i contacted DWM Roofing and Peter came out to have a look on May 18. He inspected the roof, testing as to how well the shingle ends were adhering. Most were, so I was told I didn't need to rush into a new roof. He told me that the problem was due to loose nails in the ridge vent which allowed water to penetrate into the attic. He recommended that longer nails be used and driven into the rafters (not just the roof sheathing) to hold them tight, and then to use a high quality caulk to cover the nails (not roofing cement). On his advice, this is what I did. I believe this has fixed the leaking.

After we met him at a local home show, David Morris agreed to come to our house to diagnose a flat roof leakage problem, even though he knew he could not get any repair business from us on the flat roof. He only works on sloped roofs, but he is incredibly knowledgeable about all types of roofs. He was thorough, doing water testing on different parts of the flat roof, and providing detailed suggestions as to how this should be repaired to ensure that this type of leak does not recur. We then had him diagnose the reason for a very small, occasional leak in a sloped roof, and he found three deteriorated pipe collars, which he photographed to show us. He was able to return the following day to replace the pipe collars, and he showed us how he sleeves an additional fitting over the pipe collar to reduce its exposure to the sun, and thereby slow its degradation. We were very pleased with his professionalism, his friendliness, his knowledge, his responsiveness, and his obvious commitment to doing an excellent job. He will be at the top of our list to call for any future work we need on our sloped roof, and I recommend him very highly to anyone who needs roofing work done.

We had a leak in our ceiling. We called for an appointment. They were courteous and scheduled the appointment for the next day. The technician was due out between one and three o'clock, and he arrived at 1:00. He checked out the ceiling and the roof, and then explained what he was going to do. He told us to wait on repairing the ceiling to make sure that the repair worked. This is the second time we've used them for a roof leak. They are courteous, prompt and professional. They state up front that the cost for a visit is $175.

I found DWM Roofing through Angie's List. They were an excellent company. I called on a Saturday morning, in the beginning of December, and they called me back within a hour and a half. Peter came by Monday, was a very knowledgeable guy. He was very friendly and very professional. They took off the whole roof, installed plywood, installed skylights, and finished within one day. They cleaned back after themselves. They got back to me within one to two weeks to see if my roof was still good.

The appointment went very well! I called on a Friday afternoon and Dave Morris set up an appointment for Saturday morning. He arrived on time, inspected the roof, and gave me his opinion that the issue wasn't related to my roof. He also answered many questions and came in while I wrote down the information so I can explain it clearly to my neighbors and HOA. The reason my friends' recommended him was that his prices were reasonable/lower than other estimates AND when their roof partially collasped, he patched it, even before they signed a contract. DWM was one of their first appointments and they wanted other estimates but DWM patched it anyway to prevent more damage from happening.
