AG Construction & Flooring

A crew came in and started the work at 9:00 AM. They put up sheet plastic to keep the dust and debris from sand in the floors out of the other rooms of the home. Aaron came an hour later to make sure everything was going well. After 5 hours 2 crew members left and 1 remained to finish the hand sanding in corners and tight spaces. He then sealed the raw wood and began to install quater round oak trim. After finishing the quarter round he buffed the sealed surface and then applied the finish semigloss coat. There was no dust or debris in the contiguous rooms. The finish coat was dry and ready to wal on the next morning. Overall they completed the task 100% without a hitch.

EXCELLENT!!!!the floors are beautiful. Aaron came out a few days before to see the scope of work that needed to be done. He said that he would get me the quote in day or so, I actually received the quote a few hours later. We agreed upon a day and time and I received a reminder email/text the evening before. The workers arrived on time and ready to go. It was a one day job. The men were able to answer my many questions while remaining patient. They were courtesy, professional and hardworking. This has been an easy experience for me. I would highly recommend AG construction & Flooring to friends and family and will get a price quote on my next flooring project.

The workers were punctual, efficient and did a beautiful job. The floors looked as if they had just been installed.

Aaron visited gave us a reasonable quote for the job. Some details had to be expressed in the contract. He came the day of work to sign the contract but his crew didn't show up until an hour later, as explained by Aaron. Job was done very professionally and was finished in one day. It looked beautiful although didn't perfectly match the other rooms as warned. The clean-up was beyond our expectations and the dust in the rest of the house was really minimal. I am going to have him do the rest of our hardwood floors.

Excellent..I have used Aaron at least 5 different times on properties that I prepare to sell and have also referred him to several of my clients. He has never let me down and the floors always come out looking beautiful. He always delivers on time at a fair price and now I really don't even bother calling anyone else because I know I can count on him to get the job done right. The last one he refinished for me had scratches from pets and when he finished with the job the entire main level of the home looked like the floors had just been replaced. He is also great with adding new floors with the old and blending them in so you can't even tell. I highly recommend AG Construction!!

Another contractor botched this job twice. After the botch job, I had another flooring company look at the job and they didn't want to touch it and instead tried to sell me all new flooring. Aaron with AG Construction came in and didn't blink at the job. I was in a rush and he fit me in to make my deadline. He did a great job and the wood floors look fantastic. I would definitely rehire him and will call him on all my wood flooring projects.

The floor was beautifully refinished and we are really pleased with the results. The men who did the work were polite and they cleaned up everything before they left. From the original bid until all the work was done, it was a pleasure to work with AG Construction and Flooring. A day after the floor was finished, I received a call to make sure that everything was done to my satisfaction.

Perfectly. Easy to set up. Aaron was extremely responsive. He provided a back of the envelope prediction of price based on square footage and number of stairs. He then came out and offered a true estimate. The whole time he explained how his team did things and why he was the best choice. When his team did the work, they delivered on all of the things they promised. They did the job well, quickly, and at a reasonable price. He stood by his work, and came back to the house to show us everything his team had done. He even provided advice on how to best clean it.

Extremely well. I had a time constraint. The owner worked diligently to accommodate my needs. He also called after the work was completed to inquire about my satisfaction and to offer to make any improvements I asked for. Definitely customer satisfaction /service is a top priority with this contractor.

The area that needed refinishing was larger than the offer covered. Since I was debating whether to refinish or replace, I decided not to go through with the offer. The contractor gave me sufficient information that I would know what to do when I make that decision.

Aaron's crew spent 2 full days sanding and refinishing the hardwood on our main staircase. They enclosed the work area with plastic which really prevented the dust from getting to the rest of the house. The guys were very professional overall. They cleaned up the work area after the work was completed.

Extremely well. We initially contracted to have the work done based on a special offered by Angie's List, which was for a specified amount of square footage and paid an additional amount to cover the additional size of our room. The contractor is family-owned and operated. They were responsive in coming out to give an estimate and were responsive and accommodating in scheduling for, and coming out, to do the work. They were professional, quick, and did a superb job. They sanded down the floor to the very base of the wood and then stained it to a color of our choosing. When finished, the floor looked as good as new.

Aaron, the owner came early on the first day to give the estimate. He called and emailed ahead to let me know. He was very upfront about the entire experience, he gave great advice and made sure I understood that because my floors are maple, and aged, they would not match the new wood being installed. He also provided a separate estimate for refinishing the kitchen area to match the flooring. He and his crew arrived on time and had the materials and tools needed to get the job done. As they removed the flooring and subflooring Aaron noticed there was a sprinkler pipe beneath the exact spot where they needed to do the work. He supervised the installation of the subfloor to make sure that the were no mishaps. As the crew was finishing their work, Aaron came back to make sure everything had gone well. I was impressed by their professionalism and skill. Also, Aaron's personable manner made the experience more of a joy and less of a burden.

My floors are amazing, I will definitely use this company again. The guys showed up on time explained what was going to happen and asked if I had any question. It was a very painless experience.

The team hit all the marks on my list of importance - punctuality, staying on task, and delivery of the work on time. They were friendly and trustworthy (I had to leave the house for a while and knew that I could trust the team to take care of the house). I am certain that if I were to find any defect in the work the company would take care of it immediately. Aaron gives the impression of being a completely honest boss who respects his workers, and they respect him.

Should have realized for the price, I wouldn't get the service I expected. I reached out to AG Construction in July 2016 regarding refinishing my entrance way and landing (about 70 square feet) after seeing their Angie's List deal for $99 for 100 square feet of hardwood floor refinishing. At first Aaron was very responsive, he booked a time to come out and look/measure the area. While he was there I also asked for an estimate of doing the kitchen. He seemed nice but one comment he made struck a nerve. He said, "Most contractors wouldn't even do a project this small." At this point I let the comment go and he continued to do his measuring, stating he couldn't use an oil based finished because we had a kid, and he wouldn't even do the work if we didn't go water based (which would cost extra). Already knew there was an extra check for the shoe-molding and I was fine with that. Later that evening I received a quote from Aaron for the entry way, the landing and the kitchen for $1245. Breaking it down it was $250 (in addition to the $99 I paid on AL) for the entry way and landing and $995 for the kitchen. Now the interesting thing about this quote, the shoe molding for the kitchen area (which is like 4 times the size of the 2 smaller areas) was $45 cheaper. Next he had $100 extra for just the water based product (in the 2 smaller) areas. So even though the oil based products were included, he charged full price for the water based products. Aaron's response to the cost of the water based products was as follows, "I apologize if there is any confusion. The deal has two coats of oil base, however water base is different and extra. You are only paying for the difference in price of the product." He also never really answered my shoe molding question. After a email or two back and forth there was about a 10 day lapse in Aaron responding. Finally I heard back from Aaron after I sent him an email asking to knock $50 off the total cost, and his response was, " Sir, sorry but if I am mistaken, we did speak? I apologize but I can not drop the price. The reason is because we will be using the bona traffic product, which is extreme expensive. It costs $150:00 per gallons and I am only charging you $100.00. I really do appreciate the art of negotiations, but it is very difficult to do so in this case." My wife and I finally decided will give them a try, especially if we were going to use the premium products. The date was scheduled for for Aug 12th. There was pretty much 1 person there for the whole day (probably 9 hrs). He seemed to do a good job, but since we were pretty much stuck in the basement it was hard to see what was going on. He did a decent job of putting barriers up so dust didn't get all over the place and did a decent job of cleaning up any extra dust. While the guy was working on the floor and I was outside, I happen to notice the water based products were not as stated. There was a can of Zinsser Bulls Eye Shellac ($20 at Home Depot) and DuraSeal Waterbased Polyurethane seal ($40 online). Neither of these high end Bona products nor costing $100. I emailed Aaron a day later regarding these plus I found the floor slightly rough and in at least 1 spot I saw some dog hair under the sealer. His response was as follows: "when you have a prefinished floor which is done in a factory, you will never have the exact smoothness. Secondly, the zinsser is a must and we use it as our sealer. I apologize bona product product was not used, but it is equal to the duraseal water base product. Forgive me but you definitely received a great water base finish. The products are equal in strength and durability. If there is a problem, once the floor properly cures, I would be more than happy to come out see how we can fix it. " In mid September I emailed Aaron regarding some bubbling on the floor, no response, I sent a follow up and he finally responded saying he was on vacation and could come look at it next week. Well I didn't hear anything, then I contacted him again in October to see when he wanted to come to look at it, after a few emails back and forth he said he'd probably be in the area next Wednesday. Well that was the last time I heard from him, sent a follow up Dec. 2nd, and no reply. I wish I could give a better review as I feel the worker did a good job, but unfortunately the customer service killed it. Lack of communication, lying about products being used and overcharging, and then floor starting to get bad again. I am well aware I only paid $350 for 70 square feet to be refinished, but if you don't want to take on small jobs because they don't make much money, then don't offer these AL deals.

I have a hardwood floor in an upstairs bath that was in pretty bad shape with fading and water stains (exacerbated by the fact that my two millennials apparently have not yet mastered the art of the shower curtain). I saw an Angie's List deal for $249 for up to 100 square feet of hardwood floor refinishing by AG Construction, so I jumped on it, even though my space was only a fraction of that footage. Aaron and team were terrific. Aaron came to check out the space within a week of my purchase of the deal. The work was performed promptly thereafter. When the sealant puddled in one small spot (about the size of a half dollar), Aaron had sanded it out, restained, and sealed it within a week. The floor looks great. But AG's scheduling is what really sets the company apart. We scheduled for three visits: the initial look; the work; and the touch-up. Each time, I was given a specific time (not some amorphous window), and each time they came exactly at the time promised. Other contractors should take note. Professional and nice guys, excellent work, excellent cleanup, and prompt service. What could be better?

Everything went great. The company showed up on time and was very professional throughout. I could tell the owner, who was involved from start to finish, is very dedicated to his customers and passionate about his work. I would definitely use them again.

Aaron and his team were fantastic. The quality of the floor installation was superb and we couldn't be happier! Aaron was prompt with scheduling the delivery of materials as well as letting us know how the installation would go from start to finish. We highly recommend AG Floors for any hardwood flooring jobs you may have!

I could not have been more pleased by the work done by AG Construction. When he came to give the estimate, the owner Aaron Goodman went over very thoroughly everything that we should expect from the job. He gave me a heads up that there might be some inevitable small marks on the baseboard and that these might need to be retouched (and there were, but these were minimal.) He explained that since quite a bit of time had passed since the hall floor had been stained and finished, the newly restored floor in the bedroom might show it up a bit. (It turns out that the difference in the finish is not significant.) He built potential repair costs into the estimate with the understanding that this amount would be deducted if the wood replacement was not needed. As it turned out, it was not necessary; the workers were able to remove the stains. Everyone on the team worked hard and steadily and they were careful and considerate. They covered nearby furniture plus the carpet runner in the hallway to protect them, and kept mess to a minimum. They were able to blend the new floor color seamlessly with the old color in the hallway and, once it had dried, the sheen of the finish coat was also just right. Aaron stopped by to make sure that everything was going well and kept in touch during the day. From the time of the estimate to the day of the work he responded quickly to some further questions I emailed to him. When the work was finished, the men cleaned everything up completely, and Aaron called once again to make sure everything was satisfactory, offering to stop by, if necessary. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company and I would use them again.
