They originally quoted me for 8 hours at 1200.00, but were able to complete the job in just 6 hours for 998.00! They were really good! They were very professional. There was no damage to any of the walls moving to or from the properties.

They showed up exactly on time. They sent 3 guys so it went quick. They were very clean and professional. A little bit pricey for a job that took about only 1.5 hours but the rate was their minimum job price.

Abba showed up only a few minutes late due to traffic to start the move, but they called ahead of time to let us know. The movers were very friendly and started working immediately. They securely wrapped or boxed all furniture, mirrors, and pictures. Only one piece of furniture was damaged: a small desk leg was broken. It was raining and the mover slipped on the truck. Abba offered to send someone out to fix it or give us the money it would cost to fix it. We took the money and fixed it ourselves. Luckily all it took was some epoxy. It wasn't a very expensive desk, so since I was able to fix the leg, my wife overlooked the incident. I really only have 2 complaints about the experience. We were told by the estimator that we didn't have to empty our dressers as the movers would move them with the clothing in them. When the movers started working, they said the dressers would be too heavy and they would have to empty them. This cost time and packing material, neither of which are free. My second complaint is that the estimator severely underestimated the amount and cost of packing materials needed. The quote was for $94, but the final cost of materials was nearly $400. This easy even after the foreman claimed he cut me a break/didn't charge me for some of the materials. I would warn and caution anyone hiring a mover to clarify during the estimation how much packing materials will really be needed. Bottom line, the movers were friendly and worked hard, and only damage one piece of furniture due to an accident. We would certainly recommend Abba to be considered for a move job and would ourselves consider using them again.

They did great job. They have moved me twice now and both experiences were positive. Their prices are very reasonable. I would recommend their services.

I've used Abba twice, for two very different moves. The first was from a third-floor walkup in Baltimore to a house in in the Maryland DC suburbs, the second from that house to one a few miles away. These guys are fantastic. They are affordable, responsive and I've had nothing broken in either move, which is unheard-of. We did the packing in both cases, and they're very accommodating about unorthodox packing: bags, tupperwares, coolers -- they'll load, secure and move pretty much anything. We ran out of large boxes to pack our paintings and lamps, and they quickly took care of that with reasonable materials prices. The estimate was very close to the original cost. I would hire Abba again in a heartbeat.

ABBA was fantastic to work with! From the very beginning quoting process to setting up our time slot to actually performing the move, the were five star and top notch! In May I had just moved my entire household with another local mover and was a nervous wreck the whole time as they were cutting corners and actually running with my furniture. ABBA came in and immediately starting assessing the situation to see the best way to pack and move the dining room set we had just purchased. They packaged the items with such care and were truly treating my furniture as if it was there own. When they arrived at my house after picking it up from the place we had purchased it, they were again so careful and diligent not to damage a thing! We had just had our hardwoods refinished so I told them to be super careful moving things and to not slide anything on the floors and they did exactly that. I could not believe how carefull they were and just how meticulous they were with every detail. They completed the move without a hitch and settled up the bill for the amount we had been quoted. A big thank you goes out to Jose and his team of two movers as they did a fantastic job!

Right from the start, there was an issue that should have made us cancel the service. The man in charge showed up at my door at 9:48 am to take a look at our furniture and explain their service. At 10:00 am, he submitted a contract with a starting time of 9:30 am. My wife and I said that was not acceptable and he said he was in our area at that time, but he was lost until he called me. He changed the time to 10, but certainly did not get in a hurry to start any work. I carried several boxes and bags to the dedicated elevator went down to the truck to see him on his phone. I again informed him that I had the elevator reserved from 9 to 11 am and we should easily have all the major items down to the truck by then (even though an hour of that time was waisted being lost). He kept talking on the phone, so I went up for another load. Absolutely, no sense of urgency or professionalism. Multiple times the main guy stopped to call his boss (the other two just stood there when he was on the phone) and talk for ten to fifteen minutes while the elevator time was disappearing. If I had another option on that day, I would have just let them go not work for someone else. I moved all of this stuff myself, along with help from a 76-year-old retired Army relative from Indian in a U-haul just a month prior. We did not break anything or damage anything in that long move across several states. These movers damaged an end table right in front of me because I did not want them to take the time to wrap it (small table next to the bed). No effort or common sense were displayed by this crew. They managed to waste the entire time that the elevator was available taking little boxes and bags down and leaving all the major furniture upstairs (only used part of the elevator to my dismay) . I asked them to wrap and protect our dining table and sofa set after it became clear they had no intention on attempting to be careful. Even with that effort, the leaf was apparently thrown loose in the truck and heavily damaged (pictures). A box with collectibles wrapped in newspaper and foam protective covers and marked extremely fragile was not handled gently, so several items were broken (1 picture of the most important). All the other items were discarded with the exception of the gift for my wife that she treasured. Even as upset as I was at the lack of effort, I still bought pizza and drinks for the crew and tipped well (my wife is still made about the tip). I am 46-years-old with a pacemaker and I worked three times faster than these professional movers.

My husband and I contracted ABBA to move us from our apartment in Washington, D.C., to Baltimore, Maryland. A few weeks before the move we called the office and spoke at length with Lib Orange about the amount of furniture and estimated number of boxes we had to ship. We agreed upon terms and a price and signed a contract. Over the next few weeks, my husband and I did all of the packing ourselves, per the contract. The morning of the move a group of four (five?) men from ABBA arrived promptly at our apartment and quickly and without fuss loaded the truck with our belongings. The crew was mostly surly but professional and finished loading the truck in a few hours' time. We drove separately to Baltimore and waited for them. We got a call and learned they were taking a lunch break and would be arriving later. This was just fine with us; I had no qualms with these guys taking a break before they hauled everything back into the house, and we had already planned for the move to take all day. Once they arrived with the truck at our new home in Baltimore, they moved our furniture and many boxes into our three-story home, even though city parking was a nightmare and they had to park around the corner from the house half a block away. They did not fuss or complain (but they didn't look thrilled! Though in their place I wouldn't have either). One of our belongings?a cheap press-board bookshelf?fell over in the truck and cracked during the drive. The company immediately took responsibility and repaired the item and returned it in almost-new condition several weeks later. We were satisfied with this handling of the affair. At one point during the move-in, they were unable to get our queen-sized box spring up the stairs?it simply wouldn't fit. Without our asking, one of them precariously perched on the railing of our back first-story deck and hoisted the box spring up to a guy waiting on the second-story deck, thereby getting everything in the house. I was very impressed and pleased with their willingness to go the extra mile to make sure we didn't have to leave anything on the curb. I certainly wouldn't have ASKED them to do the balancing-beam act, but I have to say I was grateful they initiated it. After that, the foreman told us a nice tip would be appropriate, since they'd gone above and beyond; while I happened to agree with him, I didn't think he should have asked for extra money but rather left it to my discretion. The move-in was completed by late afternoon to our satisfaction, several hours earlier than we thought it would be. My husband and I reviewed the bill, agreed that the inventory for new materials charged to us appeared reasonable, and signed to pay the agreed-upon price + materials + tip. We were so pleased with our experience with ABBA that we contracted with them again in the spring and summer of 2008 to move us first out of our house into a rental during a major home renovation and then back again into our house once the renovation was complete. Once again, they were wonderful to work with. I would definitely use ABBA again.

Agreed to contract was $2000 for pack, move, unpack, over a 2 day period. Three men arrived reasonably on time. Took them 6 hours, but they did not complete the packing. Then, they finished the packing and unloading the next day, and ran out of time to unpack. Also, I was charged greater than the contract permitted for. Also, the number of boxes they stated they used was greater than the boxes left over.

This was the most dreaded and turned out to be the smoothest part. This company was wonderful to work with beginning with the first phone call. We called only 1 week before the move. Detailed questions on their part allowed excellent advice from the company. Based on advice hired 4 men with the truck instead of 3. Contract was done over the internet and $50 deposit was given by credit card. Final payment was actual time spent plus one hour standard for travel time. Price above was total to ABBA Movers and does not include cash tip that we paid to each worker (they were more than worth it). Actual time from start to finish was 6.5 hours including 1hr 20 min drive time through traffic. These guys really hustled even though my price was by the hour. They worked very well as a team. Each was in constant motion and had specific tasks. Movers arrived on time and began work immediately. Brought all appropriate tools to break down beds, tables, etc for easy transport. Took extraordinary care wrapping and padding all big pieces of furniture. Expertly stacked all boxes and had everything packed efficiently. At new place placed all items just as we wanted them. Furniture put back together. They were very cheerful and industrious. We were so pleased and happy with everything about the move. ABBA Moving LLC was the best part of the whole moving experience. We are so glad that we hired them and that cannot say enough good about them. We would definitely recommend them.
