Individual was contacted to assist with non-functioning oven. Arrived after promised time. Made diagnosis that igniter was out. Stated price would be $275. After I inquired about the nature of the charges (parts price, vs. labor, etc.) indiv. refused to disclose the price. He went down to 239. Again I requested breakdown of charges. He refused to do so and offered to do the work for $211. Again, I requested breakdown of charges. After this, he became belligerent and stormed out. Subsequent call was made to contact number (which turns out to be this indiv. as he is sole proprietor). He remained defiant and refused to offer explanation of charges. He also refused to disclose whether he was or was not owner of the company. Overall this individual refuses to operate in an ethical manner and in good faith. Numerous claims on his website (and seemingly fabricated "reviews") gave the impression that his company was professional and ethical which, after this event, seems to be contrary to reality.

Response from 24/7 Express Repair Network & Hotline
In all fairness to 24/7 Express Repairs and to the repaiman, it is essential to consider the following facts: A. 24/7 provided an urgent service request on a federal holiday! B. 24/7 waived the agreed $75 "service fee" and provided a "free estimate". C. We tried to accommodate the (potential) customer with a significant discount of over $60 (which the customer declined) D. The Member stated that he was expecting to pay a total of $150 which was an extremely low repair price for urgent holiday service. Also, An A- grade is the only BBB rating that 24/7 Express ever had (and which we maintained throughout our paid membership period). In hindsight, it was an oversight & an error, that our phone representative did not notify the customer about the increased holiday rates ahead of the repairman's visit. We are sorry for the misunderstanding that this has caused. The repairman, not being aware that the customer was expecting to pay a reduced rate, on his part, felt that after driving :45 minutes to the customer's home and troubleshooting the stove, believing that he was quoting an appropriate repair price for urgent holiday service, was taken aback when the member promptly declined his pricing. The repair tech did his best to accommodate the customer by reducing the price by $64 to a total of $211 (which included not only the $75 service call, plus the GE Igniter part plus labor). Unfortunately, the repairman felt discouraged by the customer who remained dissatisfied challenging his pricing while stating that he expected to pay a total of $150! Understandably, this was a very uncomfortable situation, not only for the tech who has already invested almost an hour of his time on Christmas eve, realizing that he will return home empty handed. Ultimately, the tech did not even charge the $75.00 service fee that was initially agreed on, since he wanted to give the customer the opportunity to continue to shop for a repair the (above) stated price range.

They fixed both jobs. They responded quickly. They came the same day. They both seem to be working fine. I would like to see a longer warranty on service.
Description of Work: I have had two repairs. One was for a washer that was leaking. Another for a freezer that was building up ice.
