Carlos took my call and arrived hours later -- on the same day -- at my house to see the project. I had an estimate that night. After selecting colors Carlos had 5 people in my house, on time, on day one of the project. They completed the work earlier than promised -- in fact they even added an extra room to the original estimate yet finished on time. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations. Bottom line -- Carlos was responsive, reasonably priced, fast, and thorough. I don't think anyone could ask for more.

Carlos' crew painted the first level of my house. They also repaired alot of drywall since I just had lighting but in. His price was lower than other estimates and he gave me a prompt proposal which covered everything. The crew was very neat and also installed hardware - doorstop, window hardware - for me. They promptly corrected a few minor areas I noticed after they were done which I've had with every paint company I've used. I am very picky and they were great. I have also had several painters and now I will only call Carlos. He does alot of work in my neighborhood of Kentlands in Gaithersburg. He is very easy to work with and he stopped by daily to supervise which is a big plus. The lead painter Enrique was very good too.

I already had an estimate from another vendor dated a few months previously. When I tried to contact the vendor, he would never return phone calls. Mosquera Painting showed up on time, toured the property, and gave me an estimate that was a bit lower than the original one. I needed the work done in a hurry so Carlos rearranged his work schedule to accommodate my timetable. Within a week he had dispatched a HUGE crew that was quick, professional, and neat. They removed wallpaper, patched holes, and totally transformed what had been a dingy enviornment into a bright one. The job was finished on time and its looks much better. I was very pleased with the price and the quality of the work. I have no hesitation in recommending Mosquera Painting.

After calling many contractors and not getting any responses, I came across Carlos Mosquera's reviews on Angie's List. Carlos and his crew lived up to their glowing reviews. Not only did Carlos come out and provide me with an estimate the same day that I talked to him, but he was 5 minutes early! Carlos and his crew arrived promptly at my home on painting day, did a fantastic job, cleaned up as though they were never even here and completed the job several hours before I anticipated they would. Carlos returned at the end of the day to ensure that the work met my expectations. I highly recommend Carlos Mosquera Painting and would definitely use them again in the future.

Carlos is a very polite, considerate, and professional person. He was very neat and clean in his appearance. His work ethic is wonderful, and he is very prompt. Carlos and his helper were very responsive to my concerns. The clean up they performed was extremely thorough; I couldn't have done a better job myself. I am very satisfied with their work, and I highly recommend this company. I really would like to emphasize that his workmanship is excellent. I'm a particular person, and Carlos satisfied all of my requirements. Also, Carlos honored a 10% discount because I am an Angie's List member.

We needed to have several painting and drywall projects done in a short amount of time before listing our house for sale. Carlos' quote was higher than other bids, but he was able to get 2 crews out to work on a Saturday and Sunday. They were very careful about prepping the work areas, taping off entire rooms with plastic sheeting and papering the floors so the drywall dust and damage to the floors was minimized. They did a great job cleaning up after they were done (we had some drywall remnants in the kitchen cabinets afterward, but I was honestly surprised it wasn't more with the amount of scraping they did). We also had hardwood floors being installed by another company, and they were able to work around them with no problem and still get done on schedule, even when we added some exterior painting projects. The only noticeable "oops" was that they neglected to take down the ceiling fan trim in one room before scraping texture off the ceiling, so when we later replaced that fan, there was a small ring of texture around the base. Carlos was very particular about the quality of the work, and was there each day to make sure it was up to his standards. There was an especially tricky drywall repair job (lots of odd angles) that Enrique did a phenomenal job on. Anyone hiring Carlos should also ask for Enrique to be on the job - he was an excellent crew supervisor.

He was very good. His men were very polite and thorough. They really did a nice job.

The whole process was wonderful!!! Carlos and his crew showed up on the first day bright and early, ready to get started. They began by tackling the wallpaper first, spritzing the walls and peeling paper feverishly. They peeled and picked the walls clean, sanded them smooth, primed and applied two coats of paints. The color in the dining room is a rich pomegrante red and it looks fabulous. I was truly impressed at all the care that went into preparing all the walls: filling holes, repairing damage, covering or removing items for protection, sanding all the walls (ones with repairs and the ones without) to guarantee as smooth of a surface as possible. All this attention to detail allowed them to apply the paint successfully with a great result. During the process I added 3 new spaces to my initial request and Carlos responsed: "no problem". I selected the new additional colors and he had every color sitting and waiting that night for the crew in the morning. And it only added one day to the process. I should mention that two of the new spaces were approximately 30'x14' each! But, they got it all done and my time frame with spectacular results. I already have a new project ready and waiting for them...lol.

Carlos and his team were GREAT! They were polite, professional, on time, respectful of our home, and payed much attention to detail. Ours was a big job and every effort was made to get it done accurately and in a timely fashion. While Carlos was not there throughout, he came by each day to check in on his team and approve the work they were doing. We had electrical work being done at the same time and the painters were very accomodating. Our home looks great! It was a pleasure working with Carlos - we will definately use him again and recommend him to everyone we know.

Carlos came to the house to provide an estimate and sent one that evening by e-mail. We had used Carlos Mosquera Painting for another job and were so pleased I did not request estimates from other painters. There were a few things that we had to do before scheduling the painting and Carlos worked to fit our schedule. The work was done within one week. The staff were careful moving furniture and did not leave a mess at any time.

I strongly urge customers NOT to use this company. We were scheduled to begin painting Monday (three days from now), and we worked very hard to get other outside work complete in advance at Mosquera's request--however, Mosquera suddenly canceled our job. In addition, Mosquera has been very hard to reach, and getting estimates for work has been very tough. Importantly, although he states he offers a discount to Angie's List members, BEWARE--he only offers a discount on painting of brick or siding, not shutters, stairs, etc. and he will not pass his corporate discount to you for paint--he keeps the extra money. I reached out to Mosquera Painting because of the positive reviews on Angie's List. He called me back quickly to give an estimate for painting my house, and the price was reasonable ($3500 for a large brick house with siding). Mosquera offers a further 10% discount to Angie's List customers, so I was pleased. When I noticed, however, that the estimate did not refer to the painting of the window shutters and stairs to a back door, I inquired about pricing for those items and whether they were included in the job estimate. Carlos Mosquera suddenly became very hard to reach, not returning telephone calls at all, and not responding to emails for days on end. When he did respond, those responses were generally incomplete--like, if I asked how much it was to paint the shutters and the stairs, he would only tell me what the shutters cost. After two frustrating weeks, I felt like we had finally exchanged enough information to move forward with a contract. This morning, Carlos wrote to say that he no longer would be able to proceed with the job, although he is scheduled to come Monday (in 3 days). We had hired landscapers and paid a premium to get that work done before the painting was to start Monday, and now the painting company has refused to do the job because it's 50 degrees outside and Carlos thinks it's too cold. Other painters I've consulted say this is not true. Most importantly, we went to Mosquera Painting (at least in part) because he offers a 10% discount to List members. His first estimate to paint the house failed to include the shutters and other attachments to the house, although we discussed including those in the job; when we *finally* got him to correct the estimate, Carlos refused to extend the discount to these other items because he had not made them part of the first estimate. This is a shady business in my opinion, and we will hire someone else.

Carlos Mosquera and his team of painters did a very good job. They allowed some drips that I missed until after they left--but not enough to make a big deal. There was some communication issues--Carlos is very busy and it is not always easy to get through to him. I had to make several calls/email to him. I had asked his lead painter to remove a few picture nails that I could not remove but he either did not understand or forgot to do this--not enough to make a big deal but I will make sure that I am understood the next time I have them back. I do plan to have more work done next year. I am very pleased with the cost and results--10 years ago I had the same space done and it cost me more than it did this time.

Carlos was very friendly. He was prompt. The price was reasonable -- actually inexpensive -- given the amount of work they performed. Carlos is the boss, and he relies on a large workforce of laborers, the work of whom he does not really direct or oversee. To the best of my recollection none of his workers speak English. Their professional skills are fairly rudimentary. The work was completed, but to a low level of quality. My wife and I do more careful work than his workers. In fact, we ended up repainting our dining room after his crew left, because the paint was too sparse and uneven. We had to ask him to return to fix some poor repaired places on our dining room ceiling. Three months later our bathroom ceiling paint is beginning to bubble in four or five places. We contacted his company and asked them to fix these areas. They didn't respond.

Carlos came over the same day I called him for a estimate. He emailed written estimate a day later. The estimate was the best one out of four; he told me that it was 1 day job for two people. He told me that he could start the job three days later. This worked perfectly with my schedule. They were supposed to show up at 9:30, but they didnt get here till 10. They did call to let me know that DC traffic was bad and that there were a few minutes out. Other than them being a little late, I would rate them A for everything else. The two workers were very professional. They did an excellent job cutting out the stained drywall and put in a new sheet, re-taped it, and applied plaster covering on entire wall. After they sanded the plaster, they painted the entire wall with paint I provided. They also did a good job cleaning up. Carlos wanted to come back to inspect the wall before collecting final payment. I had another appointment to attend to and since the workers did a great job, I told him that he didnt have to come. Carlos assured me that if I saw anything that wrong afterwards, he would come back out and fix it at no charge. I was really impressed by the dedication to quality that Carlos and the rest of the team showed.

Carlos Mosquera is extremely responsive and professional and his workers were very considerate. All the work was started and completed on time and Mr. Mosquera made sure we were happy with everything before we paid the balance. The work seems like it was very high quality. Mr. M. works very hard to make sure the customer is satisfied.

I am very pleased with all aspects of Carlos's work. I am a real estate agent and will use him for my own home again and will refer him to clients.

They were a no-show for the appointment to obtain a quote for work. I didn't even get a phone call.

Carlos arrived promptly to evaluate the project, and submitted a detailed proposal shortly thereafter. His prices were competitive. However, it was his willingness to discuss every detail of the project, and his extremely polite personality that sold us. He supplied all paint, primer and prep materials, and we supplied all of the wood stain. His large crew arrived in mid-October and began to work even before we paid him his deposit. They worked steadily, including Saturdays and Sundays, and completed the large project in three weeks, which included a few rained out days. His crew was extremely courteous, quiet, and neat. They thoroughly cleaned up, and nicely stored their equipment out of our way each day. We had requested that the large volume of paint scrapings be collected and trashed and not be left scattered all over the roof and yard, and they did a fine job of this. We are still amazed at the fantastic surface preparation they did on our old wood house. Much of the house was hand and power sanded to the bare wood. Tinted primer was then used, everything was nicely caulked, and wood putty was used everywhere that needed it. There was no spilled or tracked paint, and no drips. Foundation plantings were not damaged. All hardware was either masked or removed and replaced, and none of it has any paint on it. The power washer loosened a couple of screens on one of our porches. We called it to Carlos' attention, and he replaced them without hesitation the next day. He cheerfully responded to all of our questions and concerns with similar promptness, and professionalism. The quality of the staining and paint work is outstanding. We have very exacting standards regarding painting ability. His company exceeded them. He will not cut corners nor try to con you. We highly recommend Carlos Mosquera's company to anyone who wants to receive a quality paint job, and who wants to have the pleasure of working with a friendly, highly responsive contractor who clearly says what he does, and does (more than) what he says.

Carlos' crew did good work, and Carlos is very plesant, professional and responsive. I am satisfied and I would hire them again.

Carlos and his crew were a pleasure to work with. He came to quote the same day that I called, and his quote was quite competitive with others who quoted the job. He and his crew showed up promptly the day that he said they would, and did an outstanding job cleaning and painting. No mess when they left, and supplies, etc. were neatly stored at the end of the day. I wasn't home during the day while they were painting, but my neighbors reported the crew not only worked hard, but also seemed to enjoy themselves while they were working.

I had an excellent experience with Carlos. He was both patient and flexible with dates and wanted to make sure I was pleased with every part of the job. Which I am. Carlos closely supervised his painters and was available quickly for me either by phone or in person. He used an excellent quality of paint and inspected every aspect of the work before saying the job was complete. Clean up was meticulous with not a flake of paint left on the ground. The inside work was done with the same high quality. I would hesitate to hire Carlos for all of my future painting.

We are extremely happy with the work done by, and highly recommend, Carlos Mosquera's company because of its professionalism, punctuality, responsiveness and outstanding work. We selected Carlos after considering four companies from Angie's List, which had a large number of high ratings. Based solely upon the interviews and the estimates, Carlos was clearly the best of the four. One company (Benchmark) was rejected because its estimate was significantly higher for no discernible reason. Another company was not considered because the representative was abrupt and actually stated that, because of his high ratings in Angie?s list, there was no need to discuss the work to be done. Carlos stood apart because, in addition to being polite and personable, he gave honest answers to questions and concerns as to wall preparation, timing, and the scope of the work to be done. Carlos explained that a team of his employees would complete all the work in five continuous working days. He was also very helfpul. For example, when we advised Carlos that we would be replacing the door knobs, light switch plates and door stoppers, Carlos immediately advised that his team could do the replacement work when painting the doors at no extra charge. Carlos submitted a typed estimate that did not include a boilerplate adhesion contract. His estimate was reasonable. Carlos was as good as his word and went the extra mile. He arrived at the agreed time and date with a team of three employees, one of whom was the team leader. He brought a line of Benjamin Moore paint that was more expensive than the one upon which the estimate was based, but did not charge a supplement for the extra cost. Carlos carefully explained to the team the work to be done and called attention to the areas as to which we had expressed concerns. In addition, He instructed the team to do preparation work that went beyond what we had requested, and instructed the team to paint the ceiling of a closet and two bookcases, at no extra charge. Carlos left after advising that he would be available by telephone and would drop in to inspect the work. The three members of the team were very diligent and hard-working. We were impressed with the careful and detailed wall preparation, particularly in the master bedroom, where the tape at the top of the wall was loose in some places, and where the paint on the walls by the air condition vent and the window had been peeling due to humidity and/or the difference between outside and inside temperatures. They did a beautiful job in replacing the grouting of, and painting, the molding in the living room an dining room areas. The painting was outstanding. Carlos runs a very professional business and does try to make sure that his clients are more than satisfied. The painting was done professionally and punctually. It was evident that Carlos and his team took pride in their work. We commend Carlos for running such a professional and efficient operation.

Carlos listened carefully to what I wanted done, when he came to the house. And, he was on the job with his painters, the morning when they started the job. At that time, he explained carefully and in considerable detail what they were to do. They did just as Carlos directed, and kept me appraised of what was happening, as their work proceeded. The two men take pride in their work, and rightfully so. They are the simply the best of painters. Many years ago, I had a small painting firm that worked only on the exterior of houses. The quality of our work was excellent. However, the quality of the work done by Carlos' two painters is even better!
