According to my mother, who was at my house while I worked, two men arrived on time, 8:30 a.m., to paint. I was delighted when I came home to see that the dingy stairway and dismal large room had been transformed into an inviting bright and clean area by high quality paint applied by highly competent painters. I was amazed at the impact of their work and could see they took pride in their skills. They were also very polite and neat, leaving behind nothing but the beauty they had created. Because of their work, when my house went on the market, the first couple who saw it fell in love with it bought it. The house actually has other fine features, but who would want to descend into a dingy basement when viewing a potential home?

Pros: Very punctual in arrival for estimate and for work. Workers are reliable, trustworthy, and responsive. Workers are relatively neat (despite drywall and plaster being very dusty jobs!) compared with lots of other contractors. Very responsive in general. Cons: Owner is a little bit of a scheisster -- doesn't listen, just talks over you and repeats his sell line; didn't respect my time and would not give me any break on price for a mistake he made that cost me an hour of my time, despite the overall large cost of the entire job. Workers were quick to point out old paint splatters so that I would not think those were made by them, but made a whole bunch of other paint splatters on the floor (nothing a plastic straightedge razor can't handle); dripped some plaster on the window sills without noticing/removing. But again, overall, very good.

Carlos had previously done work for us in our chevy chase home and we were extremely pleased and satisfied with their work. We recently purchased a 100 year old condo (1000 sq/ft) in Dupont Circle which went through a complete renovation. The wood work and the walls had not been painted at least for the last 20-30 years. It was a total mess. Cracks everywhere, paints were peeling, moisture in the walls. After we signed the contract with Carlos, his crew started work the next day. They were amazing. They took the hallway wall down the first day. This was not an easy job as the walls were 100 year old plasters. They started preping the walls and the windows. 80% of their time in this unit was spent in prep work. Carlos helped us with the color for the baseboards and windows as were were unsure to paint them black. They have turned out amazingly beautiful. After they finished painting everything, we were not happy with the color we had chosen for the livingroom so Carlos easily agreed to redo it. They are absolutely wonderful group of workers. We loved the experience and we will select them over and over if we need another painting or carpentary job done.

Four workers came on first day, three on second and two on 3d. Floors, furniture, bookcases were well protected during repair work and painting. Repairs of taping done very well - walls and seams brought back to original look. Wall painting was very competent. Since woodwork was not being repainted and the rear interior had an extensive amount of it, it was important to be careful with the wall/woodwork seams. I thought this was done extremely well. No paint overlapped the woodwork anywhere. We were quite happy with final result. The exterior trim prep and painting was done very quickly and well on a 4th day by one worker. Again the results were excellent. On each work day, workers did a nice clean up of area before leaving. Mr. Mosquera visited site every day of work and provided very responsive answers to any questions we raised. He was anxious throughout to be sure we were pleased with results. Overall, the work quality was excellent, the price very reasonable and the personal interaction very pleasant. I would certainly recommend Mr. Mosquera very highly.

The work went very well. The two man crew arrived on time and began work promptly. I was concerned about dust from the ceiling demolition and drywall work but before mentioning anything they had already hung plastic sheeting to contain the dust which they cleaned up before painting. The ceiling looks like new. Outside, the porch railings had been unsightly and dangerously loose. Their work which included replacement of large posts and refurbishment of railings was top notch. After finishing and painting the railings also looked like new and are very stable. The power washing also went well and the washed area looks nice and clean again. Pleasantly, while nothing about their work seemed hurried they still managed to complete the work on the day promised. The only drawback was that in the process of power washing a small section of my gutter guards were blown off. I called Mr. Mosquera, who had stopped by during the work to introduce himself and check on the progress of the work, to advise him of the gutter guard issue. He was very responsive and promised to have someone replace the gutter guards within 24 hours and he did. Significantly, they provide a 10% discount to Angie's List members which turned a fair price into a good one.

Estimator was excellent and detailed all aspects of the job. The crews that came when promised (the crews were different for the interior and exterior) were very professional and cordial. There was always someone on site that could translate. They always took care to protect the floors, furniture and everything else that wasn't going to be painted. Their prep work was absolutely superb, frankly much more thorough than I had expected. The painting was quick but absolutely thorough. Their clean up was complete and I didn't have to do anything to follow up. Overall the experience with them was exceptional and I would recommend them to anyone.

I wanted to get my house on the market quickly. I first contacted Mr. Mosquera after failing to hear back from another company. He sent his assistant Ivan over to get a detailed list of everything I wanted done, which was most of the interior of the house. Within a day or two I had the estimate and an assurance of a time frame. On the day the painting was to begin, in came 8 painters! All of whom turned out to be: conscientious, hardworking, excellent craftsman and very nice. Mr. Mosquera was there to make sure the right paint went to the right room. He came back everyday for all the five days they worked. He made sure all was going well and that I was happy. Of all the companies we hired to get my house sold, Mr. Mosquera and his excellent crew were the diamond in the broach. I can't sing their praises enough. They had to sand a nasty wall, put up and modify closet doors and paint a rusty landing. The painting, throughout the house, was top notch. My house received 3 offers and sold almost immediately. Mosquera Painting gets a lot of credit for that fact! I thank them all very much and Ill be using them again.

I hired Mr Mosquera and crew a couple of months back to paint my newly purchased condo and they went out of their way to do an Outstanding job (per my previous review) therefore I felt comfortable hiring them to complete the odd jobs I described. As I was out of town, I needed to leave a key for Carlos and felt comfortable doing so having worked with his team previously. It was so nice to return home to my new place after vacation and have everything I asked for perfectly completed. The new ceiling / light in the bedroom was professionally installed, the pictures were perfectly hung exactly where I asked and the old TV, furniture, paint cans and other junk that I no longer need was all gone. All of the work was completed very professionally and I believe the price was more than fair given what it would cost me to hire an electrician for the ceiling fan, a junk removal company for the trash, etc etc. Once again, Im very pleased with Carlos Mosquera Inc and Highly Recommend.

We needed to paint our colorful master bedroom, walk in closet and master bathroom in order to prepare our house for sale. Realtors want to see bland vanilla colors because that makes their job easier. I was planning on doing it myself but I was running out of time so I called Carlos. He came by Thursday morning to size up the job and give me an estimate. By Friday afternoon they were finished! Not only did they do the job quickly but they did it very well. Cleanup was great and they did a very professional job.

They did an excellent job. I am very pleased. I have a couple of projects I want to do this fall. I will use them again.

Carlos painted three rooms in our house along with removing wallpaper from our living room. They did a very nice job and really aimed at pleasing the customer. He stopped by on the final day to do a walkthrough and made sure his guys were aware of any needed follow up items to complete the job. We have plaster walls which they did their best job to sand down. We have an old house so their are lots of "character" marks. Hi price quote was by far the best and he outperformed. My belief on servicers is to pay them what they request otherwise they won't be happy doing the work. When you hire Carlos he is happy with the compensation so you get his best work.

The team -- led by Fermin -- was extremely professional, prompt and skilled. Both Fermin and Carlos worked closely with me as we changed some paint colors at the last minute and worked under a tight deadline before move-in day. Carlos even sent extra crew members in order to get our job done before the floors were redone the following week. Both Carlos and Fermin gave an accurate estimate and were upfront about costs along the way. After the work was completed, Carlos did a final walk through with me to be sure everything was set and as we wanted. I had a few minor tweaks, and his crew made them that day. It was our first experience using a painting company (and a huge investment for us), but Carlos, Fermin and team did an excellent job. No hassles at all. I will certainly be using them again in the future.

This was a very big painting job and the crew, lead by Mauricio did an AMAZING job. They were extremely professional and dedicated to making sure that everything came out looking great. The crew put three and four coats of paint, in areas where the previous owners, painted in bright colors. A lot of attention to detail and extremely courteous and professional. This company is incredibly customer service focused and any minor concerns were immediately dealt with by Carlos.

Excellent company and superb service. Mr. Mosquera was extremely responsive and a pleasure to deal with since the very first time I called him. We had to reschedule multiple times due to weather and he was extremely accommodating. The foreman who came to give us an estimate was very prompt and thorough, and the estimate tiself was very fair. Unlike some other companies we called, they were actually interested in doing the job. The workers were punctual, very pleasant, and paid attention to every detail. Mr. Mosquera stopped by to personally check the quality of their work and to introduce himself. Great company, great service, and the quality of the work was superb. They specialize in painting, so I will definitely call them again when I am ready to get some painting done in my house.

We emailed Carlos for an estimate on painting services. He sent out a colleague of his who devised a plan for our house. We received an email within 24 hours detailing what they would do along with the price. On the day of the power wash, they showed up on time, but they wouldn't get started for about 90 minutes after that because they had to wait for Carlos to give them the plans. Once he came, though, it was all fine. I wish the power wash were a little stronger as I still see stains, but maybe my house is just really dirty. The paint, though, is great, and I think it'll really protect the house. If we do get the siding painted, I would be happy to call them again.

The deck cleaning was poorly done, with many sections still remaining visibly dirtly after cleaning. However there was no chance to correct this situation, as they began the staining process immediately. Final inspection was hurried, with Mr. Mosquera claiming he was ill.

Within a day of contacting Mr. Mosquera, he sent a highly professional young man, also named Carlos, to come to my home to find out everything I wanted done. Carlos was very polite and knowledgeable. Got an estimate, believe the same night, but no later than a day later. Mr. Mosquera was very accommodating. He wanted to do everything on July 8th, but I had guests visiting on that date. Asked for the power washing to be done in advance of my guests arriving, and his workers completed the power washing on the Saturday I requested. They did a terrific job. My driveway doesn't get a lot of sun, so there was quite a bit of mold and pollen. By the time they were finished my driveway had not looked that good since it was installed. They even cleaned off the storage boxes I had in the driveway that were in great need of cleaning. Everything looked terrific. They came back 2 weeks later on the date I requested to do the painting part of the job. Mr. Mosquera stopped by. Once again, they did a beautiful and meticulous job and it was a terribly hot day. My deck steps are very close to the foundation wall, but they did a great job of getting the wall painted without getting any paint on the steps. They are extremely neat, no drops of paint anywhere. Both times, the lead gentleman walked around my property with me to make sure their work met my satisfaction. Mr. Mosquera lived up to the excellent ratings he has received on Angie's List. Thanks to Angie's List for leading me to his company. I would definitely use this company again.

We are very pleased with the work. Carlos Mosquera Painting is a very professional operation, and reasonably priced. The crew was neat, meticulous in its workmanship, cleaned up at the end of each day, and quickly took care of our punchlist.

On the second call, the owner sent an estimator who looked at the job. He took down my contact information and said that the owner would send me the estimate. When I hadn't heard, I contacted the estimator. When we spoke, the estimator indicated that he didn't have my correct email address. He corrected his notes and said that the owner would contact me the following day and that he was very busy on another job. Now 2 weeks later I have not heard from the owner with an estimate.
