+ 1 moreIt was an excellent experience. We got a clue how good it would be by the prompt response after we called them. The estimator came exactly when he said he would and was courteous and helpful. He explained exactly what they would do and that it would take three days. Even though I was having a party on Saturday night I wasn't worried when they started on Monday. Of course, it rained all day on Tuesday so they couldn't work. They returned on Wednesday and worked all that day and the next. On Friday Mr. Mosquera came and showed me the rotted wood on several of the window sills and on the front porch. We had know this might be an issue so we we're surprised. He gave me a very reasonable price for his carpenter to replace these items. When I told him we had to be ready for people to walk on the porch on Saturday by 7pm he wasn't deterred. His very good carpenter worked arrived on Saturday morning and was finished by 4pm. They moved all the porch furniture back. Our porch is beautiful. I'll be sure to use them in the future when we do some interior painting and recommend them highly.

+ 0 moreCarlos himself showed up on Saturday, that is today, perfectly on time with 2 of his workers, another Carlos and Santiago. He had the pictures I had emailed with him and all of the necessary supplies. He went over every detail of job with me and his staff telling me exactly what would be done. He came back again several hours later to inspect the progress. The 2 painters covered all of my furniture properly, used clean drop cloths to protect my wooden floors and carpets and did all of the promised work superbly. They also put shoe molding around the convector with the adjacent floor damage which hid the damage so now I don't need to hire my floor contractor to fix the floor which is saving me hundreds of dollars. In addition, I had quite a few scuffs on the walls throughout the condo due to other contractors renovating my kitchen and installing the AC units and general wear and tear. Carlos and Santiago painted all these scuffs sometimes doing an entire wall. They even painted the molding near my balcony that had never been painted right the first time. And they didn't change me for any of this extra work. The painters were incredibly polite and professional and did all work perfectly. I tipped them generously paying a total more than the original estimate without the discount but they were worth every cent and more. These were some of the best contractors I have ever hired for any job. They were incredibly responsive to my very tight schedule, prompt, courteous and expert. I would recommend them to anyone and gladly use them again.
Description of Work: I need to sell my condo very quickly and had to do a lot of repairs and renovation very quickly. I originally hired another painting company recommended by my condo, who did such a shoddy job even after coming back 2 more times, that I needed someone to redo their work. I also had 4 new convector AC units installed on Wednesday 3 days ago and I knew this would result in plaster damage when they pulled the old convectors out of the wall which is normal but they also damaged my baseboards and wood floor. Based on Angies List reviews I called Carlos Mosquera Painters on Tuesday - 4 days ago - and they sent Juan the next morning to assess the job. Juan was totally professional and indicated he would have a proposal for me that evening and that they could come on Friday or Saturday and even work Sunday if needed. He thought it would cost 200 dollars per convector. However since Juan came the morning when the convectors were supposed to be installed he didn't know how much plaster would be torn out. At the end of the day when the convectors were installed I saw that there was less plaster damage than expected but my baseboards and wood tile floor were cut out and damaged. So I immediately called Juan and emailed him pictures of the damage. He said this would cost less and immediately sent the new information to the office to revise the job estimate. I got back the proposal at 9pm that evening Wednesday. I had a question and got a revised proposal 1 hour later. They agreed to repair the plaster and baseboards near the convectors then paint those areas and repaint the bathroom cabinet the first painter had done poorly for 650 dollars. But with a 10% Angies List coupon it came to 585 total. I also wanted the metal fuse box on my kitchen wall to be repainted because the first painter had not sanded before he painted and it looked bad and I did not like the color he picked out. Because I supplied the paint Carlos said he would do this for free. He said the job should take 1 not 2 days because there was not much plaster work and he indicated they would come on Saturday between 830-9am.

+ 2 moreCarlos is your painter--look no further! Estimate was performed a day or two after establishing contact on Angie's List. Carlos and I went back and forth via email to refine the estimate, including adding installation of owner-provided shutter, establishing paint colors, etc. He was very patient with us and prompt in responding to emails. The job was done professionally. However my wife was not completely satisfied with how one part of the wood replacement looked, so she and Carlos talked about it and she agreed with his suggestion on how to make it look nicer (something outside of the scope of the original contract). We are sufficiently pleased that we have asked Carlos to wash our deck, replace one plank and reseal it. Obviously we are very pleased!

During the garage part of the project, the team moved all the belongings we had stored either outside or into the center of the garage, putting everything back at the end of each day's work. The shutters and front door were beautifully finished. In the bedroom, there was some confusion as to what color we wished to use for the ceiling, but Mr. Mosquera was very responsive to our requests. He and his team even moved a very heavy treadmill out of the room being painted, something that was certainly above and beyond the call of duty! When we noticed a couple of very small imperfections in the bedroom paint job, Mr. Mosquera sent a painter out the next day to fix the problem. Mr. Mosquera came by to check on the work being done on a daily basis, always checking with us to see if all was going according to our wishes. I can highly recommend his company!
Description of Work: Mr. Mosquera's team repaired dry wall in our garage, dry-walled one side which had been left unfinished, painted the garage interior, painted our front door and shutters, installed crown molding and painted a bedroom.

+ 2 moreThe job took longer than expected because once the ceiling plaster was removed, they decided the lathing also needed to be removed. This was done an no additional cost. While I would have preferred less dust and dirt infiltration into the adjacent rooms during the ceiling demo phase, my expectations were probably unreasonable given the amount of material removed during ceiling demo. The remainder of the job went well with few glitches.
Description of Work: Carlos's workers removed plaster ceiling; replaced ceiling with drywall; applied three layers of skim coat on plaster walls; installed crown molding; painted room.

+ 0 moreThe crew arrived on time, had all the equipment that they needed. Put down drop clothes everywhere. Worked very hard (5-man crew) and were finished in two days. The owner was there at the start to be sure everything was organized, and he returned at the end to check everything and be sure that I was satisfied. Said to call him if I found anything that needed to be corrected and that they would do it immediately at no charge. I was very satisfied and have already hired his company for another carpentry and painting job.

+ -1 moreThis painting company sent a team of professional and conscientious painters who did an excellent job in a very short amount of time (only 4 days!!) The painters were very considerate, well mannered, trustworthy, punctual, friendly and extremely attentive to detail. They were well organized and methodical, and they cleaned up everything meticulously at the end of the day. They did everything asked and were flexible in going the extra mile to make everything perfect. Perhaps most importantly, the company is licensed and bonded. The workers are insured and have workers compensation coverage. The owner, Carlos Mosquera, has been trained and certified in lead paint, so you know what they do is safe for you and your loved ones. The young men who worked at our house were honest and wouldn't think of lifting any of our valuables. I highly recommend "Juan" who served as the team leader for our job; he was soft spoken, courteous and patient, AND well liked by the rest of the team.

No one would have ever known I had work being done at the end of the day. I was concerned about a couple things and they addressed them and did a fantastic job. The price was the best of all the contractors I contacted plus I got an Angie's List discount! I would recommend them to anyone!!

They painted the entire interior of my current home, and it looks wonderful. I definitely recommend them. His team of interior painters in particular are super-nice and very attentive to detail. + -1 moreWe contacted Carlos in May for an estimate. We found his estimate to be the best and asked him to paint our windows. Carlos set up the date of June 6 to paint our windows. On the 6th, the painters arrived. The crew were all very nice, very professional, and very industrious. After the original estimate, we realized that we had missed asking for two window frames on the side of a sliding door and our back door to be painted. We were able to add them in the morning of the job for a small additional charge. The painters were not able to finish in one day so they returned the next day to finish. Because of a misunderstanding one window was not painted. I called Carlos and a painter returned the next Saturday and did that window. They did an excellent job. We found Carlos and his crew very easy to work with and always friendly and professional. I would most definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Carlos' crew painted the outside of all our windows plus the kitchen door and frame. It is a colonial house with a walkout basement - so three stories in the rear of the house.

+ -1 moreI contacted Carlos thru Angie's list. They promptly scheduled a time to come out and give an estimate. The estimator arrived exactly on time, surveyed the space, asked and answered questions and told me I'd receive a quote that night via email. I got the quote as promised and asked a couple of questions that were quickly answered. The quote was very competitive with others that I had received. I agreed to the number and a date to perform the work was set within a couple of weeks. The workers arrived on time, were courteous and well dressed. I've had a lot of contractors and these guys were great. They worked non-stop and I did not have any issues. In addition to painting, they repaired some minor drywall as well. Carlos himself showed up on both days. He was great to work with. They even touched up a ceiling for me in another area that was not part of the original agreement. I will hire them again for any future painting needs.

A few complaints, though: 1) They must have sanded because when they left there was dust everywhere, in books, on shelves, even on screens on the inside of my windows, everywhere. It was, and still is, very hard to clean up.2) They moved stuff to get to the walls (fair enough) but often, of no room in the middle of the room, they moved it to other rooms. Much stuff i have not yet found because it is somewhere lese and not an obvious "somewhere," like bathroom stuff (shampoo, etc.) in a bedroom on the floor. BUT- That is not the actual painting. painting was excellent.

+ 0 moreCarlos reviewed my deck, gave me a clear indication of what work he'd perform and discussed the deck-over paint I had in my garage. I found Carlos to be professional in his answers to my questions and the advice he gave. The quote was attractive and competitive with other offers we'd received. When Carlos left my house he promised to follow up with a written estimate, which he would send to my email, and did. Despite his busy schedule, Carlos fitted me in quickly for 6/19, and at 8am I had three guys turn up at my front door ready to power wash. The next day, the painters arrived, who began by tapping nails and dealing with any minor word repairs. Shortly thereafter they asked me for the paint, but I was concerned about the rain, which was due later that afternoon. After speaking with Carlos on the phone, we agreed to try again tomorrow. Saturday - bright and early at 8am the painters arrived again, but I had to ask them to come back on Monday because a storm was predicated. Monday's forecast was dry for the next three days, so at 8am Monday the first coat went on my deck. I got a call at work that they'd completed the first call and needed another 4 gallons of paint for the second coat, which would go on the next day. Once again, at 8am sharp, the painters arrived and were working on the second coat when I came downstairs. The workmanship is great, they paid close attention to detail (I was at home Tuesday and got to watch) and my deck looks like brand new. My only regret is that I was not home when the painter completed the job so I could leave them a tip - perhaps I can settle that with Carlos when it's time to pay the bill ;)

+ -1 moreI have to say from the first contact via email the process went well. Mr. Mosquera was extremely responsive to my numerous questions. He was one of 5 quotes and he was by far the most professional and quickest to respond. He not only responded with his quote, but his business license and his insurance documents. Surprisingly, he was the most cost effective! On the day the project was supposed to start he (and his team) was EARLY! This has never happened with ANY team I have worked with. This was of huge benefit to me since I still needed to get to my job. When I got home on the second day the work was completed as promised. I walked my entire property line and could not find anything to complain about. He even repainted my fence hardware even though it was not part of the original quote. I already have other projects lined up for his team!
