Description of Work: DON'T USE TERMINIX for any services!! They will screw you any way they can. My experiences.... I contacted them because I noticed flying insects coming from an exhaust connected to my attic. Mike Payne from Terminix came out to check it out and do a "free home inspection" that they offered with their services. On that home inspection document he checked off that there were no termites and indicated that there were ants. He sprayed the inside of my home for these ants, took my credit card info, asked me to sign the hand held electronic device. He then explained that the attic insulation needed replaced and said it would cost "77", he'd bring it down to "5". I said "$500 is a lot of money right now, but I guess if it's going to reduce my electric bill $500 is worth it." The attic insulation service was scheduled. Terminix came out to do insulation service. The workers informed me that the "ants" Mike Payne treated my house for were swarming termites and there were a lot of them which would cost me another $1,100 for them to treat them. While they were treating for this termites that didn't exist according to the first worker, Mike Payne, and putting in the attic insulation I get an email stating that I agreed to pay $5,000 for the attic insulation service. It was the first I'd seen a contract and it had a customer signature on it...not by me. I assumed it was an innocent error and too many zeros were entered, so I called Mike. I stated that there was an error and this contract said $5,000. He said "yes" to my surprise. He said "you know better than that because the insulation material itself cost more that $500". I said how would I know that? I have no idea how much stuff like that costs. He was very nasty and unprofessional, so I asked for his supervisors name and number. I called and he never returned my call. A few days later I call and again get no call back. So I called the 1-800 # and the rep informs me that this so called supervisor isn't even listed as an employee. She left a message with that branches supervisor to call me. He, Nick, called. He said he would get back to me with the actual cost to the company for the materials and services provided so we could discuss a reasonable amount to compromise on. I didn't hear from him for weeks, so I called him on 7/10 and 7/20 and left VM and as of today, 7/26 I haven't gotten a return call. The very initial service was in April! Meanwhile, Terminix came out to provide outdoor insect treatment that I was told I'd "get a $75 bill" for. Not an automatic payment taken out. I'm looking at my bank account and Terminix charged my bank card $129 for the service without my permission. I was told he'd leave a bill. I called the 1-800# again to discuss the above issues and the rep said she left a message for Nick, branch manager, to call me because he didn't answer her call. She transferred me to another rep to make sure no future services will be provided and no more payments would be charged to my account. This rep informs me that a note was on file stating that Nick indicated that I was going to be held responsible for the full $5,000. He indicated this in their system, but refused to return my calls to tell me his final decision. Mind you, he told me he was going to find out their actual costs and call me to workout a compromise. I would never ever agree to $5,000 I don't have for a non emergency service without getting estimates from at least 2 more companies, so I sure as heck would not have impulsively agreed to this $5,000 service that wasn't absolutely necessary! I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs, various social media sites, and news papers to get the word out so this hopefully doesn't happen to anyone else! If this helps at least one group of this group not go through this awful, stressful experience then it's worth the time I spent typing it.
