Bill Bitz, who inspected my home, was very thorough. The inspection of the 1,250 sq. ft. house took several hours, and included inspections of all the crawl spaces and the attic. He also performed a termite inspection of the house as well as a tree stump that he suspected had termite damage. He happily answered all questions I had about the inspection while doing it. He presented me with a very thorough report at the end of his inspection and went through the problems he found and how I would go about fixing them. He was very professional and available for any follow-up questions I had. My only complaint was the price. I was expecting it to be less, but I also had three types of inspections done, so I am not sure what the usual rate for all three is.
Description of Work: I got my home inspected by Priority Home Inspections, LLC as part of the purchase process. The home was inspected, a radon test done and a termite inspection completed.

Priority Inspections' William Bitz performed a termite inspection of our first home prior to closing (July 2008). It was a waste of $75. He must not have looked hard enough because we have been seeing wood/mud piles since August 2008 in our basement bathroom (which we ignored because we had just had an inspection that claimed only old termite damage in the exact same location). Now they have swarmed our kitchen through the floor. I am certain that they have been there all along as the piles continued to return after I cleaned them up. I wish that I had not been so stupid to have trusted the results of this termite inspection. When I called to discuss this with them, they were curteous but explained that the inspection is only good for 30days and that there is nothing that they can/will do. Also, they don't treat for termites, only inspect for them. I recommend using a company that does both. One last thing to note: they are not liscensed, only certified working under someone else's liscense (who takes no responsibilty for a bad job). Looking back, I would go with a liscensed professional who knows what they are looking for and can treat a problem.
Description of Work: Standard termite inspection of our first home prior to closing.
