The sales area has been very good and helped us pick out good quality flooring for our bathrooms. But I'm not so impressed with the install up to this point. It took 2 weeks to get them to give me a scheduled date to start and then the start date was a month from that point, so I wasn't very happy about that. I was told by the sales people that another great reason to use Mercer is because they use their own employees who they have trained themselves to install this flooring. This wasn't true, the company installing my tile are not employees of Mercer Floors. I have had to do my homework on installing this type of flooring and check their work and they are having to come back out on Friday to start the other bathroom. These guys have been cutting corners and I'm just not impressed with them thus far. I'm really on a fence on how to grade them because Mercer told me these were employees of theirs, Sales was great and would give them A/B grades but install has not been good and would give them C/D grades. In follow up to my comment (above), today, 7/3/13, I had my second bathroom floor installed. The install crew was on-time and did a nice job with the floor. There were no corners cut this time, i.e, the floor was pulled up and new sub flooring laid. I'm very pleased with the choice of flooring I have selected and hope it last for years down the road. If I use Mercer again for my large kitchen/powder room/laundry room floor, I will look to get an install date before the purchase is made.

They forgot the date of installation. Took 2 weeks longer for flooring to be installed. We have VERY small kitchen but it took 2 people almost 10 hours to install. It seemed that one man spent more time in my bathroom than in my kitchen where the work was being done.

Mercer Carpet One Floor & Home is a family run business. The young man who came out is part of their family and only 18-years-old but was fantastic! He asked us so many questions before he even came to our house, like: The room, what was off the room, he wanted to know what was around it, what we used it for, everything. He knew the problems and concerns that we had and then recommended floors based on that. The follow up with their company has been great. We're still happy with the floor and we really liked Mercer Carpet One a lot. Their customer service is fantastic. They listen to what you need and come up with suggestions based on that.

They did a fine job, were very professional and were very careful with the furniture moving.

The end result was that the experience went very well. We like the carpeting in the showroom.The salesperson, Matt, was very pleasant. He brought some samples we were considering to the house so we could get a better idea of how it looked. He also took measurements at the house. We also considered carpeting for the foyer but needed an odd size. Unfortunately carpeting we liked for the foyer could not be custom sized and we decided to forgo carpeting for that area at this time. We decided to purchase carpeting for the two hallways and the stairs and went to the store to order the carpeting. The carpeting was available to be installed in a couple of weeks and an appointment was made. The installer arrived as scheduled, actually earlier than expected. The store uses their own installer, which was preferable to me. One section of the runner was shorter than we had expressed by about 10 inches. I called the store and they agreed to return and extend the section (the store had done all measurements) They picked up the section that needed to be extended and returned in about a week to re-install. I appreciated the effort in making it right.

The salesperson provided samples of carpet at the installation and provided reasonable estimates for installation. A contract was signed and the installation was completed shortly after signing of the contract. There were no problems!

They were very professional and very fair. They are one of the better companies that I have had dealings with.I had nothing negative to say about them. They were very, very helpful with selections. We were just kind of going back and forth between carpets and laminates or hard wood. They helped us work out what was best for us instead of what was best for them. When the installer came out, the installer was just top notch.

Mercer Carpet One Floor & Home was very accommodating. I needed some specific cuts done and it was no trouble to them at all. They were very reasonable. It was a small job for them, but they smiled and said it was no problem.

It went well, my decision to purchase hardwood elsewhere was entirely based on price.

We didn't end up using them due to the price. Their initial estimate was $15000. We got an estimate from another company that we went with and their estimate for the same area was around $9700. It was a pretty substantial difference. They seemed very professional and very polite. We felt comfortable with them, if we would have used them. It was just that we were upfront with the woman and said their pricing was too much for us to justify. She checked to see if she could do anything to come down on their pricing after we indicated that and even showed the comparison proposal. She said that they could not come close to that, which we appreciated in that aspect. They seemed to be upstanding and reputable. We couldn't take a chance with 33% difference. The woman came around the next day to meet with us and take a look at the opportunity. She did a good follow up. We might consider using them, but our skepticism with them was that they were a bit overpriced.

The job was done beautifully and very professionally. Dwayne spent a LOT of time with us planning out the placement of the tile and the carpeted area, as well as making our choices with styles and colors. He also spent a lot of time making sure the carpet for our bedroom was exactly the same color and style that we had initially. The installers spent a LOT LOT of time, mapping out the layout of the tile, so that the borders were all even, and the carpeted area was just how we wanted it to be. We LOVE the job they did! The installers were also very respectful and considerate and consulted me often trying to be sure they were doing EXACTLY what we wanted. We would HIGHLY recommend them!!!

Job was very well done. Installers were very professional. They showed up when promised and cleaned up well after work was completed. Looks great!

We're really happy with this company. I like that they're a family owned company, they've been in business for about 75 years. Their sales rep. Steve, was extremely helpful, not pushy, but gave us a lot of guidance, he was great. The finance guy was also extremely helpful, and I am a Howard County teacher, and they did give me a discount for that which I appreciated. The hardwood and carpet installers, are all in the house installers, they do not sub out their jobs, so they're all company employees which has made a huge difference. The hardwood guys were very thorough, clean, really nice, and they were great. The two guys that are installing the carpet, same thing, they're just really professional.

They were excellent. They have good pricing, good salesman and excellent installers. I was really satisfied with their service. The installers were very professional and did everything quite well.

Because I really enjoy the heated floor in my sunroom, I decided to install a new heated floor in the family room. So that I wouldn't have to learn how to use a second type of thermostat for the floor, I decided to go with the same heated floor system mfg. I went to there website to see who installed their products in this area (my contractor was not available,) and Mercer CarpetOne came up first. I visited their Ellicott City, MD store and discussed my plans with the store manager. I gave him my room measurements and asked for an estimate. He committed to get back to me within a few days. After about a week and a half, I had not heard from him, so I called and left a message. I still did not hear back from him after a few more days, so I assumed they were not interested in the business. I called the heating mfg and asked him who in this area works with their product. He told me that they do a lot of work with Mercer. I relayed my experiences to him and he said he would contact them. A day later, I got a call from Jeff Leo, a sales rep from the her headquarters store in Westminster, MD. Jeff was very apologetic, and offered to come to my house and show me some options. We met shortly thereafter, and he took measurements and photos to submit to the floor heating company to get a quote. Once he had the information, we scheduled to meet at the Ellicott City store because it was closer to me. Unfortunately, Jeff took ill, and could not make the meeting. So he faxed the info to the store and left me in the hands of the same team that had let me down the first time. I was turned over to another gentleman who, I think, was a marketing manager. He reviewed the quote with me and we talked about the order/install process. I asked him if the quoted price included an electrician to connect the floor to the thermostat and electrical box, and he assured me that it did. As it turns out, it did not. I asked for a copy of the breakdown of the costs, and he refused to give it to me. He would only give me the total cost. I guess he thought I would run to a competitor and show them the quote. But I needed to see it to determine if I had any questions about the parts, and to see if there were other options that might reduce the cost. I was taken aback by this refusal, and all but wrote the company off until I talked to Jeff Leo again. After explaining things to Jeff, he faxed me a breakdown of the costs immediately (even though he was still under the weather) and clarified the question about the electrician. After I got my questions answered, I met Jeff and placed the order. After a small communication mix up regarding the install date, the installer came on Nov. 9th, and began the installation. Everything was going well until he got to the stair treads. They were the wrong color. So he called Jeff and Jeff contacted the mfg and re-ordered the correct color. Jeff put a rush on the order so the install could be completed before Thanksgiving. The parts came in the next week and were installed. Unfortunately, one other problem cropped up - the stair nose on the top stair leading to the hallway was not level after the stair treads were installed. I contacted Jeff, send him pictures, and he re-scheduled the installer for Dec. 8th to fix the problem. My overall ratings for the company would be higher but for my experiences in the Ellicott City, MD store. I will never shop there again! Jeff Leo saved the order for Mercer with his dedication to getting it right. I would give him all "A's" if I had only dealt with him, but unfortunately I did not. Stoney Stonecipher, the installer did a nice job on the installation. He came back and fixed the stair nose on the top step to complete the job. He is totally professional and committed to customer satisfaction.

I would use them again.

The project was done in two steps with the kitchen done one day and the remaining the following three days. The workmanship was of a high quality. Being a craftsman myself, I expect quality and craftsmanship and received both. The oak floor mechanics showed up with out an underlayment. When I inquired why, they replied that they don't use it. I called Mercer to complain and thirty minutes later, the President of the company was at my door, unannounced with rolls of red rosin paper. He was concerned that I had a complaint and his goal was to see to my satisfaction, which he did. The oak planks were somewhat of a disappointment as what I was shown in the showroom was #1 grade. What was installed was a mixture of 1, 2 & 3. 3 has knots. The random lengths seemed to have a lot of 18'' and I would have preferred a better mix of longer planks. The workmen were courteous, knowledgeable and cleaned up as best possible. Both crews are employees of Mercer as compared to subcontractors.

I LIKED THE INSTALLER, HE WAS GREAT BUT I WAS NOT REAL FOND OF THE MERCER CO. THE INSTALLER WAS VERY PUNCTUAL AND COURTEOUS. HE IS VERY GOOD AT CLEANING UP AT THE END OF THE DAY. I WOULD HIRE THE INSTALLER AGAIN, BUT I WOULD NOT GO THROUGH MERCER CO.
