The crew came in and did a fabulous job, everything exceeded our expectations. They were courteous and made sure everything was kept protected so it didn’t get damaged during the construction. Our stairs are very solid now!

The team did an excellent job at installing our pergola. They were polite, thorough, and skilled. The louvered pergola is a more complicated structure than a normal pergola - Ken's team knows what they're doing! We are very happy with the final result.

At the start of the job it was agreed that he would replace the awning fabric and the motor if the limit switches did not work. He replaced the fabric and told me that the motor was fine and everything else was good so as to get paid. Shortly after I paid it rained and a large amount of water accumulated on top of the awning, which it never did prior to replacing the fabric. Now he says that when they installed the fabric they discovered motor had bad limit switches and needs to be replaced but I need to pay in advance due to my many concerns, he also said he would try to adjust the pitch, needless to say no attempt was made to correct this. I had to hire another company, who knows what they are doing, to fix the water accumulation problem. They were able to set the limits on the motor. So, from this I would say that this contractor does not know what he is doing and was very deceptive.

We initially chose Ken Cialkowski because of his rating on tile work and his availability. We were originally only going to have tile work done but eventually decided to do the entire bathroom. The tile work was done very well, however, not to our design specification. We were placing 6X6 tiles in the tub/shower area. We planned for 2 rows of 2X2 tiles at eye level. When the work was completed 3 rows of 2X2 tiles were installed. The finished job looks fine, but it was not what we requested. It seems Ken did not communicate the design specification to the person who actually installed the tiles. He also did not give his workers instructions about the installation of the baseboard moulding. Painting was very poorly done with fibers left on the wall, wall paint on the ceiling, ceiling paint on the wall, paint on woodwork, and areas with no paint at all. When our concerns were pointed out; Ken lectured us about how to prepare the roller for painting. This is a conversation he should have had with his workers. After two attempts at the painting, there were still issues but we decided to finish the paint job ourselves. The new bathtub was chipped and repaired. We were not informed of this by Ken or his workers. We discovered the bottle of tub repair left in the work area. Upon inspection we found the damage. Throughout the project the mess was confined to the work area. Trash and debris was removed daily. Covers were put down to protect the flooring in the traffic area. We are very pleased with the cabinetry that Ken suggested. The job took longer that anticipated. Ten days instead of 5 over the course of a month. We received the impression that Ken became frustrated with our project. Ken only charged for 6 days. (Labor is per day) This was only fair since many corrections were needed and it took several hours over two days time to install the shower curtain rod. Overall, our bathroom is a vast improvement over our original 70's bathroom. Ken said from the beginning, he preferred kitchens.

Ken Cialkowski Construction Services was the contractor hired by Long Kitchens to install our cabinets that we purchased from Long Kitchens. Ken and his helpers arrived punctually with pleasant and kind attitudes. Ken took the time to explain some things about cabinet placement and was ready to make adjustments based on our needs. He made the process hassle free and offered options when issues with our cabinets came up, without giving even the slightest hint that any option we chose was a problem for them. They were at ease and pleased to make the changes. We appreciate everything they've done and we highly recommend them.

My husband met with Ken for the estimate, and was quite pleased with his first impression. Ken pointed out some cracked floor tile and sinking flooring that showed a leak behind the shower wall of which we were unaware. Because of this, we decided to rip out the whole bathroom floor and retile it. Ken suggested a tile store where we went for tile selection. We were quite pleased with the selection, the help at the store, and most especially with the price. I got exactly what I wanted, and was also able to get a decorative border. Ken's estimate on time was 3-4 days, and he was right on. I took off 3 days for the job, my husband 1. The crew was late the last day, but because of rain and the DC area and traffic issues, I'm only faulting 1 point there. They were good with communication, did call, and timely otherwise. He had a total of 2-3 men working in a small bathroom the whole time, and they were careful to lay down groundcloths, keep things neat, and tidy up after each day's work. They asked questions when any arose. In fact, when the decorative tiles came up, they had suggestions as to how to lay them that resulted in a better pattern than was suggested at the store. We had to buy a few more outline tiles, but I'm better pleased with the result. It may seem minor, but we also have 3 indoor cats, and they took care that the cats stayed inside and didn't escape during the ripping out and removal process at the beginning. I am thrilled with the results of the bathroom. It cost about $4000 less than I thought it would, and looks fantastic! The tile work is excellent, the plumbing is excellent, the floor solid, and I could not have asked for better service. I was a little nervous about selecting a contractor without having a recommendation, but we will definitely be using Ken's services again for future work needed on our home.
