I just purchased a new home and the home inspector said the federal pacific fuse panel was a fire hazard and out dated. Spoke to Tim and he came out within a couple days to determine a proper estimate. On the date of service, Tim arrived on time and changed out the panel and left things clean. He was very knowledgable and answered any and all my questions.

Mr. Hoke arrived exactly at the agreed upon time with all the required equipment. He installed the lights exactly where I wanted them, and gave me good advice about halogen v. CFL bulbs. He made a mess but cleaned up afterward. I was very happy with his work, and would recommend him to anyone.

Mr. Hoke was on time...in order to find the problem w/the outlets Mr. Hoke got dusty in order to solve the problem...which he did...he discovered that the timer was not getting any power and found the breaker for it...I have (3) breaker boxes and the smallest breaker in all (3) boxes belonged to the light timer...Mr. Hoke was a class act...

He was excellent as an electrician, in his professionalism, in his communication and with his work. I paid him extra to get better lights and he gave me the invoice for that.

Tim arrived at 9:00 am as promised and went to work. We showed him the three bedrooms where the new fans were to be mounted. The master BR already had a fan mount in the ceiling and a switch by the door. The fan I had mounted there 16 years earlier still ran but only by its pull chain. The wall switch did not affect it. It also did not have a light. The new fan we had purchased also did not have a light nor any wall controls. Tim suggested adding a light to the new fan and he agreed to add wall controls for both the fan and it's light. During the installation he discovered some multi-circuit wiring issues in the original wall boxes, and corrected them. When he finished we had a very professional installation with easy wall controls. The fan runs perfectly and we can vary its speed and dim the light. Very cool. In the two smaller bedrooms Tim had to install ceiling fan boxes and run a circuit to each one. He chose (with our approval) to provide and install remote controls for each of these fans which saved us several hours of labor - he didn't have to pull wires down to the wall switches by each rooms door. These two new fans do not have lights since we agreed there is enough light in the room with table lamps. Tim had to go up into the attic to run the new circuits to the ceiling boxes and we assisted by turning the basement circuit breakers off and back on at his direction. When done, Tim cleaned up all debris and dust and left our rooms clean. The fans run perfectly and the remote controls work better than we had anticipated. Tim not only does excellent work, his suggestions along the way have resulted in our saving money and getting a better installation than we had originally expected. This is the second job he has done for us and we have already notified him of a third. We highly recommend Hoke Electric.

After an initial visit to our house, Tim Hoke provided an estimate to replace our outdated single ceiling light in the kitchen with six recessed lights using LED bulbs and a dimmer switch to control them. We had some existing water damage near the area where at least one of the new lights would be installed, so he recommended another contractor, Mike Smith of GLS & Sons, LLC (Towson Md) to repair that drywall as well as any other ceiling that Tim might have to cut during the installation. After arranging a mutually available date a few weeks later, both contractors arrived within the promised start time range and got right to work. They laid drop cloths over most of the kitchen floor and counters under the work area. The very first thing they did was to open up the ceiling at the damaged spot, cutting a neat rectangular opening. Then they spent about 3/4 of an hour trying to determine the source of the water that had damaged the ceiling drywall, since the drywall and the wood beams and second floor subfloor above it were all bone dry. After running water in the second floor bathroom that was over that area, In the tub , the sink, and flushing the commode several times, there was no sign of leaking. So Tim and Mike both recommended I contact a plumber to pull the commode since the ceiling damage was directly beneath the toilet drain pipe. We all agreed that it was the most likely culprit and source of occasional seepage. With my approval they proceeded with repairing the ceiling and installing the lighting. Tim was very good in recommending the location of the new lights. He recommended that we have a total of five lights over the island and counter areas, and we asked for a sixth light over the area by the door to the garage. They finished about 3 hours later and we were blown away by how neat and clean they had left the kitchen. The lights looked terrific and the light evenly covered every work area in the kitchen without any shadows. My wife is thrilled with the lighting and she and I are very impressed with their workmanship and professionalism. As a result, we are having Tim back to install three ceiling fans in our second floor bedrooms along with the wall controls and new circuits to power them. If there is any drywall work, we are going to ask him to bring Mike Smith of GLS & Sons along as well. Both are highly recommended.

He showed up on time and was really professional. Under the circumstances these services just wouldn't work for the service we needed done.

This was a great experience. Mr. Hoke came out in advance to check the layout. He told us about some prep work we could do to speed up his visit. Both he and his wife, who scheduled the appointment, were cordial, polite, and professional. Mr. Hoke worked efficiently. We are very satisfied with the work and will contact Mr. Hoke when we need some additional electrical projects completed.

We've found out electrician!!!! The company was very responsive to Angie's list emails and quickly gave me an estimate and an appointment. Mr. Hoke arrived on time. He worked quickly and did quality work. He finished within the time quoted and for the amount quoted. He hauled away the old range hood and fans as well as the garbage, which was very much appreciated since we have picky garbagemen who sometimes choose not to take our trash. Mr. Hoke was pleasant and professional and i enjoyed having him in my home. i would recommend him to my friends and will be calling him again for any future electrical work.

Tim provided us with the kind of electric services that most homeowners only dream about. I found Hoke's Electric on Angie's List after an electrician friend of a friend committed to the work but failed to appear for the appointment, which put our project's schedule in jeopardy. Getting desperate, I called on Thursday afternoon before the Easter Weekend and explained the project and our need for an appointment the following week. We were amazed and gratified that without further prompting they scheduled us for the following Monday morning. Tim arrived on time and after inspecting the site and work needed, completed a number of major tasks in just a few hours, even providing a nice used panel box and circuits in our barn for free. He was very personable, professional and efficient in his work, and he shared our enthusiasm for our project, even offering helpful additional suggestions we had not thought about. His price was very reasonable for the amount of work that he did. We have used a variety of contractors for other projects at various times, but Tim was especially delightful to work with and will now be our new "go-to" electrician. The least we could do for the free panel box and circuits was to give Tim some fresh eggs, which I swiped practically right out from under our hens. Annie, his wife, called us later to thank us for the eggs. All in all our choice of Hoke Electric was a very fortunate one for us, and we heartily recommend them.

It was okay. He did his job and I had no problem with his work because it was good. He showed up on time and cleaned up as well as a man can do. The price is fair and competitive. I was happy with the service.

It was good and I would have them back. The scheduling was fine and everything was easy. They were very responsive. The electrician was great, nice, and explained everything to me.

Tim Hoke installed a whole house generator for us. He took care of the entire job; he secured the generator and arranged delivery, supervised the generator guys, installed the electrical panel, determined with us what we would have running on it , labeled each circuit ( in permanent, easy to read marker), did test runs, and probably many more steps I don't remember :) Mr. Hoke is very pleasant, easy to deal with, and knows his stuff!! He also installed ceiling lights, fans, and extra outlets for us. Unfortunately, we moved and never got around to the outdoor lighting that we consulted with him about doing. Mr. Hoke is a top notch electrician and a wonderful person to boot. It is very obvious that he has a strong work ethic, takes pride in his work, and does an excellent job. I am not sure about the fee charged as it was multiple visits for various jobs though I do know Hoke Electric is competitively priced and we were VERY satisfied with both the work and the cost.

Tim was professional, willing to work with our needs and listen to our concerns. He pulled & moved several circuits (2-200 amp boxes in the house) so the "important" ones were on the backup generator. Neat, professional installation. No problems with inspection.
