Brian is great to work with and he and his crew did a nice job on our new paver patio. He gave alot of recommendations and answered all of our questions. He is very busy and that put him behind about 3 weeks. We did not anticipate him to complete our patio in the winter. But he had a couple of nice days and completed the job in 2 1/2 days. They cleaned up nicely and even put new grass seed and straw down. I would definitely recommend him! We will most likely be contacting him in the spring for some landscaping needs. We are a new subdivision and I know our neighbors have seen his work and were impressed with our new paver patio. Thanks Brian for everything!

My old sidewalk really needed replacing and our plan was to do it our self. However when I saw the great deal on Angie's list I decided to take the chance. It was an excellent move as the work was done well and looks fantastic. The owner came out the day after I made my purchase and provided all the information needed to get the project started. The work was not done immediately as he had commitments to other clients, however the weather did push the agreed upon date out some it was well worth the wait. My neighbors have commented on how great it looks. Had we done the work our self it would not have looked as good as it looks now and most likely have been more costly.

My wife and I have been wanting a patio for a number of years. Mike came out punctually for our estimate and could not have pleasant and professional with his ideas and kindness. After talking with my wife and researching the company on Angie's List, we decided to go with them for our project. We had a plan for the patio but Brian provided some other small tips that has made our project really stand out for us. Brian, Mike, and Fernando could not have been nicer guys and were so easy to work with. When they got here on the start day of the project, I let them know what we wanted, with a few changes, and he provided a lot of knowledge with what could work better with our backyard. The colors Brian suggested for our pavers was spot on and really goes awesome with the retaining wall. They were punctual, courteous, honest and hard workers. I am in the moving industry and always appreciate seeing hard work. There is no way I would ever think about hiring ANYONE besides Brian and his crew. Thank you guys for making our yard into what we never thought we could have imagined. Your guys truly are awesome!!!! We'll be calling you in a few years for another project! Brian Hoffman and his crew did a beautiful job. They arrived on schedule and finished the project in three days. Speaking as a retired contractor, my husband was impressed with their professionalism and expertise. Brian is such a nice guy and offered advice and good ideas. He did what he said he would do within the agreed upon price. Excellent stone work...our neighbors are impressed, too!

I purchased the deal, but the scope of the work was larger than what he was able to accomplish.

I was impressed and pleased with the quality of the paver installation. They dug deep and laid a good foundation and underlayment, pavers were tightly laid and with a good grade, edges were nicely and uniformly cut to include curved areas, and a good bonding agent was installed. My only quibble with quality is in regards to the cleanup and restoration of my yard areas that were mangled in the construction process. Work on the construction itself was completed around noon on a Friday and it seemed subsequent restoration was done hastily with goal of getting finished completely before the weekend and not having to return again. In any case, I was pleased and will call on them again if I need more paver work.

They found two 6 foot by 3 foot sink holes when they were preparing the land for the patio pavers. For an additional $200 they brought in stones and filled both holes. The patio is 15' x 20' in shades of grey stone and is exactly what I wanted. Afterward they even put down grass seed and hay where their equipment had made a path into the yard. I would never have expected that and was very thankful they thought to do so. I would highly recommend them.

After leaving a message and not hearing from them I contacted them again a week and a half later and left a second message. I was finally contacted back the following day after my second message. The gentleman who called me asked about the project and acted like they didn't want to even come out to look to give us an estimate. He wasn't rude but the whole conversation was very unproductive, him saying the estimate would take so and so long and then even if we selected them it would be so much longer after that to do the work. The whole thing put me off as if I was imposing on them to hire them, what kind of company doesn't want work? I'm not sure why I was even called back if they were not interested in a job or even doing an estimate for a job. Just to be clear we do have a company coming out to do the job for us which we were not rushing to have done we just wanted multiple options and this is also not just a couple of bucks either, we plan on spending over 3,000$ to have the work done.

I see Brian is offering "The Big Deal" again in 2014. Our "Big Deal" was installed in September 2013 and it went perfectly. I immediately recognized that it was an excellent price, what I did not know was that the completed job would be worth "twice" the price. Brian was a pleasure to work with and the walkway looks fantastic. Even after the harsh winter the walkway has no issues. I would definately use Hoffman Landscaping again.

We had used Hoffman Landscaping for a front yard project in the fall of 2013, and at that time we asked for a quote for deck removal and patio installation in the back of the house. We decided to be patient and wait until spring to tackle that work, but dealt with water issues all winter long in our basement and yard. My patience wore thin. At the first sign of spring, I had Brian come out to look at our grading and drainage situation. He gave me a revised quote for the original work and the new work, and we were off. Well, almost...we had warm days followed by surprise snow followed by rain. (Three cheers for Maryland weather!) Brian kept in contact with me regarding scheduling and we crossed our fingers for warm and dry days. The deck and concrete were torn out quickly, but we lost a few days to rain. There was a small misunderstanding about materials and tools being left at our house, but it was not a big deal and Brian was very apologetic. Once the patio work began, we saw progress happen quickly. Brian and his crew worked very hard to get everything finished before more rain came through, and they cleaned up very well when they were done. They did have to come back one time to fix a couple of loose stairs, but now that we've had a chance to use the patio we're just so happy with the work that was done. The patio is beautiful, and the grading and drainage were done well. Now we wait for the grass seed to grow so we can take some "after" pictures! We love working with Hoffman Landscaping and look forward to having them back for more!

The completed patio looks great. The job was completed in two days without issues. The two person crew showed up on time both days and were very professional. I would definitely use Hoffman's for additional hard scraping needs.

From the very first e-mail and estimate to last-minute questions the weekend before the job was to begin, Brian was extremely responsive. We knew that we'd need some serious muscle to get those gigantic yews out, and we were seriously thrilled with the price we were quoted for removal. As our job date approached, we grew giddy with anticipation of actually being able to see the front of our house. The crew arrived on time and ready to work. They had to drive up onto the yard in order to pull the yews (which easily could've been a disaster) but they worked carefully and cautiously so that the yard didn't get destroyed. It was nerve-wracking to listen to from inside the house...I feared the yews would not give up, because it certainly didn't sound like they were. After they yanked and chainsawed the yews, they dug up some additional plants around the property as requested. They even took a large amount of tree trimmings that my husband never got the chance to haul away. I guess I have the yews to thank for filling an entire truck by themselves... Once all of the old shrubbery was removed, the bed was shovel edged and the soil was amended in preparation for the new plants. The plants went in the perfect distance from the house in anticipation of mature size and, while they look kind of small now, I know they'll fill the space beautifully next year. With the fresh black mulch down, all of the beautiful greens really pop. Hoffman's Green Thumb Landscapes, thank you for finding our house in all that mess!

replaced an old patio with a new one. also removed 3 very old, grown over hydrangias. fast, effecient, cleaned up after themselves nicely. great job.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it worked out great. I had added some extra service, and so I had some additional cost. They were there when they said they would be there, they did what they said they were going to do, and they checked back to make sure we were happy with the finished product.

Brian was terrific to work with. Came to the site several times, and met us at the stone 'store' to select the stone. We had some weather delays, but once he started, he moved through the project efficiently. He allowed us to have some input as he went along to make slight modifications to the plan (improvements from our standpoint), and the overall project is excellent! We are delighted with the outcome and would highly recommend!

It looks beautiful. Brian's crew took out the old concrete slabs and put in beautiful red/grey pavers. The walk goes from our front steps to the driveway.

We could not have been more please, Hoffman's Green Thumb Landscapes is a small group of fantastic workers. They were extremely professional , took pride in their work and exceeded all our expectations. We ended up with a fabulous patio were there was an unusable space before and a gorgeous fire pit. I can wait to work with them in the future , we highly recommend them.

Hoffman landscaping is a family run business and they did an excellent job constructing our patio and installing additional landscaping. Brian Hoffman coordinated and along with his crew performed the work. Initially Brian came to our house to discuss what we wanted and provide his ideas. He then sent us a detailed quote and drawing. Leading up to the work start date Brian was very responsive to questions and worked with us to select the appropriate color and style of paver for our project. The patio and landscaping look great and we are very happy. We received a great quality product for a competitive price and would recommend Hoffman landscaping to anyone.

This package was a modification to a $1399 Big Deal that I purchased at the end of June 2013. Brian from Hoffman Landscaping contacted me promptly and arrived to assess the work within a week. I wanted a larger paver area than was included in the Big Deal purchase so this was added on to the proposal. I also explained that I wish to put a small pond in the area to be excavated and Brian offered up an extremely reasonable price to prepare the area for the pond. He was also very knowledgeable and helpful about designing the area to fix the problem I had with the yard and patio draining right into the area I wished to install the pavers (making it a muddy nasty mess for me and my dogs every time it rained or snowed). A written proposal was provided a few days later and the work scheduled for approximately the second week of September. This schedule was actually improved on and the work began on Wednesday 9/4/13 midday and was completed by mid-morning of Friday 9/6/13. I'm very happy with the results; the pavers look and feel like they've been there for years. Brian contacted me quickly after I purchased the Big Deal. He came out shortly after that to develop the plan for the patio and schedule the installation. He was honest with me from the start letting me know they had a very good response to the big deal and that they were scheduling about 6-8 weeks out. I was fine with this. He came out when he said he would and it took about 1 1/2 days to install. The patio I wanted was a bit large than the Big Deal allowed, so we priced out options beforehand so I knew exactly what I would owe. The day they finished, he called me to check on my satisfaction. They did a great job on the patio and cleaned up the area very nicely as well. They also seeded the grassy area around the patio and gave me directions for watering. I would definitely use them again and will recommend them to others.

The Hoffman's crew did an excellent job. They were careful about preserving the existing landscaping and gracefully handled the limited space in our fenced-in townhome-style yard. The work took slightly longer than anticipated because the original concrete patio was VERY robust, but once that was out work proceeded very quickly and the whole project took only 2.5 days instead of the anticipated 2 days. I would definitely use them again.

It went well. Brian responded right away to my purchasing of the deal for the new patio in July. He was not available until mid-August to complete the work, but kept me informed about delays. His team was professional and completed the work in a few days. Since I live in a town house with limited access to the backyard, Brian talked to the neighbors whose side and backyards were used to access my yard and reassured them that any damage to the grass would be taken care of. My concrete patio had sunken into the ground so water didn't drain away from the house and the wood frames on my hill were rotting. Now the patio looks great and thanks to the layers under the paver will have better drainage. The hill will now be easier to maintain thanks to Brian's suggestion to put cloth and stones in the frames. His team was careful to clean up our sidewalks and street when they were finished and reseeded any damaged grass areas, which were also covered with a layer of straw. I hope to have Brian's team come back periodically to help maintain the hill and complete other small projects.
