After moving into a rural home with well and septic, some staining in the sinks and tubs led me to believe the water was acidic and leaching copper piping. Plus, the water quality test required by law is mostly superficial, so I was curious what a comprehensive water quality analysis would reveal. The cost was high in my eyes, but I have no other experience with this type of service, so I have to presume it's close or dead on. Hence the only "B" grade in this review. I called Fountain Valley due to their proximity to the house, and spent some time on the phone going over options. The individual was very knowledgeable about water quality and seemed to enjoy the chat as much as I did. No hard sell, just the options and what the value was. After several days of research based on what I had heard, I ordered a comprehensive suite of tests. Results trickled in via email over the next couple of weeks. Thankfully nothing on the list was in the harmful range (or even near it), and confirmed the acidity suspicion. Two months later, I happened to notice one of the tests I had ordered wasn't on the result sheet--somehow I overlooked this error when I received the results. When I called to complain, they were happy to perform the test at no additional charge, still had my sample, and had it to me quickly with a revised sheet in email. The company then called me, explained the result, and some generic options for treating the issue (the acidity, copper values, etc). I was blown away by the customer service ethic, their patience with my questions, and their guidance. If all companies were like this, we'd be in a much better place. Kudos!
