They were fine. I was very grateful to them for figuring out the problem with the bathroom shower that another contractor had messed up during a remodeling project

Kastner Plumbing came out the day after we contacted them. They arrived on time, were very professional, and very clean. The County Inspector came to check the water heater and commented that "Kastner always does a great job and they really know what they are doing." With the water heater, they installed two exhaust grills to eliminate the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning. This had been overlooked by the plumber that installed the original hot water heater.

On a stormy evening, after the Baltimore area received almost a foot of rain within 24 hours, my basement flooded, and my sump pump was beeping at me. I called Kastner Plumbing & Heating after business hours, and they sent Mike, a plumber and a gentleman. I was impressed with just how polite Mike was. He introduced himself, covered his feet with booties before entering, and explained what he was going to do before getting started. I have experience with other plumbers and one thing that stands out about Mike is how prepared he was. He had boots for the standing water, and all of the equipment he needed to immediately complete the repair. Mike was able to quickly identify the problem as a sump pump failure. Although the basement was covered in two inches of water and the sump pump was completely filled with murky water, impeding visibility, Mike removed the old pump, and replaced it. Within an hour, he was done, the sump pump was working, and the 2 inches of standing water was gone. Considering that he came out after business hours on a day when there were emergency calls all over the area, and replaced the pump, I consider the price to be more than fair. I am quite pleased with my Kastner Plumbing & Heating experience and intend to call them in the Fall regarding boiler repairs.

Job took two days, and crew was professional and punctual.

Gary was the technician. Gary was very punctual and professional. He was very honest and gave advice and opinions about all questions asked. Service took about an hour total and it was done very quickly. Highly recommended.

The plumber turned up on time and completely the job quickly and professionally. Price was reasonable and most of the cost was for the parts that were needed.

He arrived on time, examined the break, informed me that the valve he has isn't the same as the one before but would suffice (good disclosure). Fixed the pipe and turned the water back on. Price was very reasonable.

They arrived when they said they would. This was an awkward and messy job. The connection was one foot underground in front of the house behind holly bushes. There was not much room to work. I had dug the hole previously to locate the leak. It was raining when they came out. Gary Kastner worked on his hands and knees in the mud. He had to saw and chisel out the broken PVC from the copper adapter. Within the hour he had everything fixed. I was very pleased with the work and would recommend him to anyone.

There was an initial issue with the installation of the battery backup sump pump. He left the first day with a sump pump that worked, however he came back to fine tune the system at no charge soon after.

I called and service was scheduled for the next day. He showed up and was very professional. He called before hand and was flexible on when he would come out to work around my schedule. He solved the problem very quickly (leaky valve just needed a bolt to be tightened) and showed me on another one what he did so I could do it in the future. He was very helpful and took his time to show me and explain everything.

The plumber located the source of the problem and was able to fix it without having to damage any walls or ceilings.

I called them this morning and Kastner Plumbing & Heating came to my house within 2 hours. Their responsiveness was excellent. He checked all the toilet seals and felt for any leaks. He couldn't find anything. He concluded that perhaps the shower curtain wasn't in the tub properly and therefore we had standing water on our bathroom floor around the toilet. Regardless, they were professional, reliable, dependable and gave excellent service!

Had BIG leak, thought I would need whole floor replaced, turned out to be a small seal on toilet. They came out same day, even rearranged their schedule to accommodate my kids school pick up, and fixed right away. They are dressed professionally, did clean work, educated me about the problem. I felt very comfortable with this company and would use them again. Oh BTW, I even forgot to give them a coupon, and when I called them they said if I sent it in they would send back my $10.00 That is real business integrity!

He came out the day I called. Apparently knows his trade well, is very professional and friendly.

He is excellent. They are honest and straightforward. He was not eager to make me spend a lot of money but allowed me to make the right decision.

I generally do my homework when it comes to home repair and maintenance, so my experiences with contractors are from the perspective of an educated consumer. I can generally spot a contractor who is "blowing smoke" or vastly over-pricing products and services. With that as background, I can state that my overall experience with Kastner's Plumbing was excellent. The Master Plumber who initially scoped out the job listened carefully to what kind of product I was looking for and a clearly communicated the pros and cons of different products/approaches. When I asked him to look into a specific product, he did so. The Master Plumber who did the actual installation of the water heater carefully planned and executed the work, and clearly took pride in his job. I would employ Kastner's again because of their quality of work and the fair price they charged me. Perhaps I could have gotten a water heater for less money, but the extra hundred+ dollars was worth the quality product and quality labor. Other relevant factors: Excellent cleanup after the water heater was installed (e.g., no pieces of wiring, pipe or product packaging left behind). Quick, professional follow-up to ensure their work was inspected by the Howard County Inspector. Overall, an A+ experience.

He was very nice and polite and he did a good job and I did not have to tell him about cleanliness even once - shoe covers or blankets. I wanted to try Kastner plumbing as his office is across the street from my house less than a quarter mile away. Overall it was a good experience except that the price was slightly high compared to another plumber I had used from Angies list earlier with similar hourly charges but they did not have travel or service charges while Kastner Plumbing has a service charge of $68.

What integrity! I felt involved and included in a way that should be expected of all professionals - but rarely is. As a woman, I am often ignored in these types of service calls. Kastner, however, was professional, smart, thorough and informative. I actually LEARNED what to do in the future. Even taught me how to caulk - no charge!

They were prompt and efficient and worked quickly. It was an excellent transaction.

I called them last fall for an estimate on a new sump pump. I chose to go with another company that got back to me a little quicker. When I called Kastner to cancel I was impressed by their responsiveness and courtesy. So I decided to call them again. Their workman arrived on time and completed the work quickly. He answered all my questions and resolved my problem. He explained what he did well. There was a base fee forcoming out and then an hourly fee after that.

They were responsive, punctual, and professional. I would use this service again.

I called about 7 AM looking for quotes for a plumbing company to come out to replace the ruptured polybutylene water main that happened overnight. I got a pretty quick callback at ~7:45 AM saying that they no longer do that type of repair but he gave me the name of another company that still does. He seemed courteous and the call back was quick, so it seemed like a good company (keeping the limited interaction and the fact they they didn't end up doing any work for us in mind).

The plumber came early in the morning on a Monday and went right to work. Some of the bolts were a bit rusty, but he had no major issues removing them. He placed the toilets on my deck and said he would be back on Wednesday to reinstall them since the new flooring, laminate downstairs and vinyl upstairs, would be finished. Again he came early. All of the new flooring was installed on top of the old flooring, so the toilets needed to be seated a little higher than they were originally. The pipes leading to the toilets were not forgiving so the installation was a bit tricky. Even so, he assesed the situation and was able to finish the job in a very timely fashion. Once that was finished, he cut a drainage hole in the washer drip pan for the pan drainage,and installed it over the main drain. We then positioned the washer on the drip pan using a strap he had brought with him. He left the areas clean and did not leave anything behind. When it was time to settle up, there were two work tickets since he needed to actually come by twice. He gave me discounts on both tickets, which was totally unexpected.

Gary was available, on-time and worked efficiently to complete my requests. All seems good and he rechecked the operation of the sump pump to ensure all leaks were resolved.

The entire job took about 2 1/2 hours. I was charged $75 for materials. I didn't complain and paid the full bill, because Mr Kastner came early and because the snake and floor mats had to be cleaned. Drain cleaning is a dirty but essential job!
